    Leaking air conditioning again

Other people have called it a trailer park on a lake, and I'm not sure I would give it that sort of compliment. The campers are so close you can hear your neighbors conversations. We had to park on the boat ramp when we first arrived because there was no parking and that's where Jim told us to park. Then 9 o'clock rolls around and we were told me had to move. The camper we stayed in was nearly falling apart. The outside had fire damage. & there was an AWFUL constant smell of propane. The inside wasn't any better. The ceiling was caving in above the head of the bed. The light is damaged and covered with electrical tape. The only bathroom's door doesn't even have a knob, which could have been a serious issue for a child had they gotten locked in. The AC had constant condensation dripping off it. It covered the floor no matter how many things we put below it to catch it. We took out a pontoon boat that had a registration sticker from 05! The registration was 14 YEARS old. The boat barely ran. He had to teach us how to jimmy the throttle to get it to start and it was always a hassle. & the boat kept shutting off in neutral. The owner said my husband looked "mechanically inclined" enough to handle it. Thankfully he IS good with those things, but we had our toddler with us, if that had been just me, I would've been stranded. None of the gauges in the boat worked so we were constantly stopping to check the gas level. The trim for the engine didn't work. The anchor was WAY too small for that size boat. We also had our dog with us, a 2 1/2 year old lab, Lake. He's skittish around other dogs, but I didn't think that would be an issue since it was made very clear to us that dogs were to be leashes at ALL times. Well, when we were loading into the boat, the owners large dogs were overwhelming my dog. My boy was cowering behind me while these dogs bombarded me and the owner kept telling me to let him off his leash to "play" with them. I made it clear that Lake is scared of other dogs, and DOES NOT want to play. If I had let go of his leash he would've ran for the hills or stayed right where he was scared out of his mind. After about five minutes of that, he finally called his dogs off the boat. Yes, his dogs were in the boat we were renting cornering my dog. I'm not saying his dogs were mean in anyway, but after I told him my dog was uncomfortable, he should've called them off. I was talking to a neighbor down the street that said one of the dogs that lives around there has fought the owners dogs before because they're so overwhelming. (That's hearsay though.) our campsite (I use that term lightly) didn't even have its own fire pit. We had one fire pit between three campsites, so you just had to hope that your neighbors weren't going to use the seating area or fire pit when you planned to. It's definitely our own fault for not reading the reviews beforehand, but we immediately froze our credit card when we left, since there's a few other reviews mentioning that he stole credit card information and charged it weeks later. Lake Marion is beautiful, we had fun on the lake, but don't waste your money at this place. We spent $524 for a raggedy camper and a boat that barely ran. We were there for only about 36 hours, and that's the price it was Updating on 5/28 (two days after checkout) our card was double charged for the gas we used on the boat. We made a mistake and used our debit card to pay for the gas, and it was over charged. DO NOT spend money here. & if you do, make sure it's CASH.

This was totally unexceptionable!!! This is the worst experience I have ever had with a resort!!!

Great staff (loved Francesca and Kendra). Very clean. We were in the 3/3 bedroom unit. Huge. Spacious. Very clean. Great view of the lake. Beautiful pool. Great clubhouse with games, movies and video games. Only reason I didn't give it a five is the surrounding area. There is golfing and fishing and boating. Other than that, nothing. When we were there the weather was in the 40's and 50's. We aren't golfers or fishermen. The state park had nice hiking available but other than a day trip there, not much activity. If you're looking for something out of the way, quiet and relaxing then this is a nice spot. I'm sure with better weather there is more but this wasn't my experience. Glad I came though. Also, no sales pitch. Huge in my book!

Moved to a different villa. Appeared clean with a nice golf course view; however, our eyes burned all night from an allergen of some sort--possibly from the one inch layer of dust under the furniture or dusty old bedding. Beds felt of metal springs in your back and flat pillows. Bottom line, the villas are all very old (and gross). Attempted to have a lovely breakfast after a terrible night of sleep, and the Jasmine Porch closed 45 min. early and was unable to seat us. For us, Kiawah is out. Stayed at the Sanctuary previously and it was not a memorable experience. After walking 18 holes at the Ocean Course, the pub was closed for a wedding. This place is hit and miss. There are a ton of other oceanfront golf resorts that are far better than this one. If you want a reliably amazing experience, don't waste your time or money. Sea Island or Sea Pines or even a trek to Pebble Beach would surpass expectations. So very much disappointed in our Kiawah experience.

You feel like royalty and are treated with the utmost respect. The hotel - is small, intimate and beautiful. It does not feel like a hotel, rather like someone's home. The rooms are beautifully decorated and you feel like you are in a different era. our room had a fireplace, huge four poster bed and a huge bath with a jacuzzi. Overall, just stunning and an experience of a lifetime. Also, in the afternoon we strolled the grounds and they brought out bikes for us to explore the neighborhood. So relaxing! The hightea and breakfast were outstanding. They think of the little things in how they present the food, which adds so much value. We had pancakes at breakfast with pecans and I can truly say that I have never had such amazing pancakes in my life. I love breakfast food and seek it out, but to this day I have not found a comparison to the pancakes at woodlands. I may go again just for the pancakes! The restaurant - it is a five star establishment and I would give it all five stars. The food is presented beautifully, tastes divine and the portion size is perfect. My husband likes various versions of mushrooms and told the chef that. He ended up getting a dish with all the different varieties. Talk about service! I loved my deconstructed ceasar salad and halibut. The dessert was so refreshing as it was a creme brullee with passion fruit. Overall, try a package if you must or just get a night to stay. You will not be disappointed. We went for my birthday/valentine and I can say it was the best birthday of my life!

We were excited:an old mansion from the 1800's, converted to a luxury resort. Bed was disappointing, but the worst was the food! Read on: They let us order room servicez since we arrived late, but that was a JOKE!....We love our fancy dinners-but this was one of those places where the salad was 3 individual inch sized pieces of Iceberg lettuce (1"x1"), with a 'buttermilk foam' and various toppings like fricken pistachios (eww) Oh, 1 of the lil' towers fell over when the waiter wheeled the table into our room, He got all distressed and wanted to take the salad back to the kitchen to have them make another! We were like "Oh, it's OK! OMGoodness, it was crazy to think some people might get upset about that!!" We could only laugh (his Caesar salad was a handful of romaine, that was SHOVED into 2 square 'crackers' that had an open circle in them, the 2 cracker squares were about 2 inches apart....THAT was the 'Caesar salad, and it had a DROP of dressing squeezed onto the plate! Hubby was like "WTF is THIS?" and i said, "Um, thats your Caesar, hun!" Oh yeah, and it had a lil' quail egg on top too.....(barely cooked) too Fricken weird. We are not unsophisticated people, we have eaten at 4 and 5 star places many a time (and love them), but this was preposterous! Hubby had Scallops that were fishy and weirdly prepared and I tried the Duck, (I LOVE duck, but this had a gawd-awful flavor, i can't even describe it... but it was HIDEOUS. He did eat a bit of his, begrudgingly!z Oh, I haven't told you, I got SICK to my tummy! LITERALLY (like I couldn't eat anything else, even when i was starving and got them to make me a burger, by the time i got it i was so nauseous, i couldn't touch it, and I suffered all night..... What made me SICK was the dessert. I made the mistake of taking a bite out of this thing, that was supposed to have Chocolate mousse in it (my fave and the only fancy dessert i truly enjoy).....get this: THE CHOC. mousse had HUGE Salt CHUNKS in it! BIG-ASS granules. No, bigger than a granule! This was like margarita- chunky salt. IN THE MOUSSE! Blecch! and it was intentional!!! I said to the waiter, that "I realize that salt is needed in Baking, like cookies etc, it brings out the flavor, BUT I've never in my LIFE seen salt IN a CHOCOLATE delicacy! He said, "Well, sayou should know how much brighter it makes it taste! I was like "ARE YOU FOR REAL? I'm wanting to vomit from it! My yelpers, you need to know to stay away from this place, even if it is only the 3rd place in the country rated 5 AAA Diamonds, and 5 Mobil Stars. The AAA/Mobil people must be on crack. Crack is whack. YUCK! Please Keep in mind, we like fancy, nouvelle cuisine once in a while.....like a good Pheasant Sausage with a confit this, and a foam that.....BUT this food was awful! Oh, and breffie the next morning? LAUGHABLE.....More tiny food (except thankfully I had eggs Benedict, and its impossible to make the eggs smaller when they are poached. Hubby had a ''3 egg' omelette that was definitely no more than one, maybe one and a half eggs tops. AND, the ''breakfast potatoes'' that came with breakfast, were chopped so microscopically, that u could not spear them with a fork, you could not even scoop them ONTO your fork! There were a few brightly colored onions/peppers in them, BUT they were not bigger than a grain of sand. I could just picture the poor chef standing over his knives, wasting his time chopping micro goods! LOL...i mean items. I don't want to call them 'goods', lest ye think they actually were just that......'good'. btw, the saving grace for you if u end up staying here (and please let me say, with the exception of the hoity-toity waiter, the staff was very friendly and VERY customer service oriented.....I will say that, we had no complaints there!)..... but your saving grace? That they change the menu daily!!! I wish like hell I had tried something off their normal room service menu, of a fish and chips meal, which was made with COD (good God, a 5 star place can't even serve top notch HADDOCK?) Cod is a lower-echelon fish! But in retrospect, I WISH i had tried it, it might have been good. BUT can u understand my reluctance to order something as plain as fish and chips at a 5star place? We were prepared to be wowed, and we were so disappointed! Better luck to you if u dare! :) I would go for brunch if u ever have an opportunity. They can't kill brunch too much, other than the TEASPOON of micro chopped potatoes they throw on your plate! (maybe ask for extra?) The Hollandaise was spectacular though, although i had to request extra! There was only a HINT of it on my Benedict! :o(

The beach is nice and has a lot of shells, although the water is brown and not aesthetically pleasing. Cons: The unit we had smelled musty as soon as we walked in. I have asthma and I began to struggle so we opened the glass doors to air it out. I had to stay outside for a while. The refrigerators were warm bc they had been turned off (a sign on the fridge said they had been cleaned and to be patient while they cool back down. Hm. I've cleaned my fridge without having to turn it off so that wasn't jiving). This was an issue bc we had groceries delivered before we arrived. It would've been so easy to turn them on a day or two before our arrival. They were also so old and the water dispenser didn't work. Update the appliances for goodness sake! There are very few amenities; very small bottles of shampoo and conditioner, one roll of paper towels etc. You are expected to buy all you need, including any spices for cooking. The beds were a bit hard and very flat pillows. We had a first floor unit and could hear the people above us walking around. The unit next to us had a patio full of dead plants (took up the whole area), a bucket w green standing water and an empty wine bottle. We didn't see anyone there the whole week. They should really clean that up. The QR system (which you need at the pool, restaurants and golf) was confusing to set up for the 6 of us that were there. I felt like I had to do homework just to go on vaca. All in all, it was okay but we will not return. Seabrook needs to pay attention to what makes a vacation worthwhile. To me, they do the bare minimum for their guests but the prices don't reflect that. We stayed at an Inn in Ohio of all places, and we had warm muffins at our door each morning, a bottle of wine and cheese plate each evening. Seabrook left a small empty bag that you could bring to the beach. I left it there.

They have a good, delicious cheese topped appetizer which was almost too much to eat for my wife and i. When the alternate server came out with the steak which was supposed to be medium rare, he asked me to cut into it in his presence. I was flustered and amazed that he would ask that but I did so and looked at it and said this is not medium rare (which is what I ordered but it was medium at best). Without a word he turned around and walked off. That in and of itself should make this a one-star review. Then eating the steak it was chewy to say the least and worse than I could stomach. Amazingly enough I did not finish my steak which I don't recall ever having done. For an expensive place like this I was shocked at the lack of service. Certainly the quality of the steak was way below average. Be careful if you go here, order an appetizer and nothing more--certainly no steak. I do not plan on ever going back.
