AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. Cheap does not always mean better…read more We used their boarding services once before and had a good experience, which is why we returned. Unfortunately, our second experience was completely different and extremely disappointing. On the second night of boarding, I received a phone call saying we needed to pick up our dog because the female staff members could not control him and claimed he was being aggressive. We were out of the country at the time, so picking him up was impossible. They then informed us they would have to medicate him. What they failed to properly disclose was that the medication caused severe side effects, including bloody stools. We were not informed about this until we picked him up. Our dog is a 130-pound Rottweiler, and unfortunately his breed already carries an unfair stigma. We have raised him since birth, and he has never harmed anyone or shown aggression. He does have a loud, intimidating bark, but that does not make him dangerous. The lack of communication, poor handling of the situation, and failure to inform us about the medication side effects were unacceptable. We will never use their services again.

Well, we go to the Vet for their guidance and expertise. Yet, the dog was given a vaccine that is not necessary for this climate. My dog has been sick since. I went back to get the other medication and I was refused service and told to go elsewhere, this is after more than 15 years going there. First, don't lie on my husband and don't make my dog sick and refuse me service, versus making it right. Don't take your "fur babies" there - you have been warned. Sadly I could not post ZERO stars!

The trailer was spacious & clean with all necessary equipment. My dog has had surgery 3 times and this was the easiest. The incision is small and looks fine. I got 3 other quotes and this was the most inexpensive too. I completely trust Dr Kovac and absolutely recommend!

Our pup would get very anxious around other dogs, and we liked the idea of her being the only dog "in the office", and had heard good things about Dr. Kovac. His ability to calm and gain trust with animals before and while "doing his work" sets him apart from other vets, and is his absolute priority. Witnessing his approach upon our first visit with him, made me regret not finding him sooner. He cares deeply about the health and comfort of his patients and their humans. After a short battle with bone cancer, we recently realized it was time to let our dog go. I had been staying in touch with Dr Kovac since her initial diagnosis for guidance and reassurance, and made the call for the final appointment. He gave me the information I needed to be certain that I was making the right decision and graciously took the time to make a plan to help my daughter (who has some disabilities, and was best friends with our pup) understand, accept, and actively participate in the decision with the family. Our dog passed peacefully and with dignity in her favorite spot, in the sunshine, with her people close. It is difficult to articulate our gratitude for Dr. Kovac after this experience. But I can say that that I have never met a more gracious, kind, skilled, experienced, and compassionate vet. When we're ready to bring a new dog into our family, we know who our vet will be. Thank you, Dr. Kovac.

We had to take our pit bull mix to the emergency vet after she got out of the fenced yard during a…read moresnow storm and was hit by a car. She had some road rash and was obviously very sore and tired. I called around, frankly, to compare prices and get a feel for where we were going to take her to get checked out. There is another clinic in the northland, a local chain, that we've had to use before. I got the feeling, from the telephone call and our previous experience with them, that they were going to try to 'upsell' me treatment and tests that might not necessarily be required. They discussed her needing an ultrasound, sight unseen. Their price for a basic exam was $15 higher than the MU emergency vet, X-rays-if needed- were quoted at twice the price. MU's reviews were higher and their thoughts on the situation sounded reasonable, so we went to the MU clinic. To say we were not disappointed is an understatement. The staff was friendly, attentive and understanding. Dr. Fry did a thorough physical exam, assessing her joints for range of motion and smooth movement, the level of pain she felt with movement, the color of her gums and the capillary refill rate, palpated her abdominal organs, checked her temperature, and more. He watched her walk. He was very soothing and gentle with her. He said he didn't really think any X-rays or other tests were necessary based on his findings. He gave us antibiotics for her flesh wounds, didn't recommend putting her through cleaning them as it would be painful and unnecessary because they were already scabbed over. He even discussed what pain meds we already had at home and said that they would work just fine, which saved us some money. They provided appropriate, conservative, and loving care, advised us to follow up with our regular vet in a week or so and to bring her back to them if she seemed to feel worse at all. Before we even walked into their competitor's practice, I knew I would be looking at a $500+ bill there. Exam and medicine at the MU clinic was $124 Comparing the cost and quality of care we received at their competitor in the past with the care we received tonight, there is no doubt where we will go if we have another emergency arise.

We had just moved to the area from Tacoma, WA and had no ER or veterinary service outside Fort Leavenworth, KS. We still received over the phone guidance without being regular customers. It's been almost 48hrs and Woodrow is doing great! The whole team was extremely professional, compassionate, and expeditious in treating Woodrow. Thank you!
