The pool/hot tub/sauna are dated but it was clean and nice to have available. We would stay again if we come back this way.

It was just what the doctor ordered and aleviated my pain. I visited with my service dog and had no issues so long as he was wearing his vest. The staff was helpful and courteous. They even followed up with a text message to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The restaurant on site was quite pricy. I did not try the coffee shop that brewed their own local coffee. Our room was recently renovated. It was perfect for us since we parked right outside the door. It was tastefully decorated with scenes of Michigan's natural beauty. Outside, there was also a pathway along the lake to go for a stroll and enjoy the outdoors. I would definitely return to this hotel on my next visit to Escanaba!

Conveniently located within an hour or so of Escanaba, Munising, Marquette and other day trips in the U.P. Michael was great at recommending a route for our fall color drive, too! We rented the kitchenette, with two adjoining rooms. A really great price. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, pots and pans, and coffee was provided. Full size refrigerator was a plus. New carpeting and bedding - and very clean throughout. Small bathroom was clean and newly finished. Small patio sitting area outside the room was very cute. TVs in both bedrooms with cable. Dining area in kitchen for eating in, which we did take advantage of. Behind the motel is a large wooded area where we took our dog for morning walks. Very dog friendly. Michael was great at providing extra towels, paper towels and other items upon request. This is a great local motel and I highly recommend it! The owners obviously take great care in maintaining this little retro gem in the U.P.

There's pool and pinball and a ridiculously loud jukebox that you can't turn down when you drunkenly start it at 2:30 in the morning even though people are sleeping and you're lucky because it's the Midwest and they're too polite to complain. The room was quaint. It's Gladstone, you're not going to get a cosmopolitan loft. You'll get a nice, local painting. Maybe a floral quilt. Definitely some hardwood siding. It's a good place to sleep.

And of course, there is no ice machine at the Gladstone motel. The rooms are arranged bizarrely with no nightstand on the right side of the bed, instead, an oversized sofa seat is where the nightstand should be. There is no person on site to check you in, resolve issues, etc. Shame on me for not checking out this dump before I booked as there are many other choices in the Gladstone area.

We were not able to find anything until we drive in Sleepy Hollow Motel. They has one room and we took it because it was late at night and everything else was booked. The staff was friendly, and the price was not bad at $75 for the night. But the room needed major updating and new beds. One of the beds had a box spring that had some staines on it that my wife an I was questions if it was blood. Not something you want to see in a motel. Anyways we stood the night and got on our way first thing in the morning.
