Met with Nate in about a built in desk and a built in entertainment center in December and he told me he was booked 2-3weeks out. I said, sure no problem, we can handle it in January. Come mid January, he tells me he needs more time. I say sure. Come February I reach out and no answer. Called, emailed and texted, still no answer (mind you I had already given 50% down to him). Finally after not hearing from him for almost 3 weeks he responded and saying he was just getting started on building the cabinets. It's now mid-March and he finally got to installing the units. But don't expect him to arrive at the time he says. He was consistently 2-3 hours late to the time he promised to be here (which required us to adjust work schedules). First day he arrived at 2:30pm after saying he would be here at noon and then had to come back on a Sunday because he couldn't finish it all in one day. Now that's just the communications part, as for the quality of the work. I have been very disappointed. I had asked for a 1.5" wood top on my desk. After install I've noticed it's a single 3/4" plywood top with an additional 3/4" plywood strip on the front to make it look like it's 1.5". Not only that but because it's plywood there are obvious seams on the desktop. And the front is covered with a veneer which bubbled in multiple places and even though he came to glue it back down still does not look great. There are seams in multiple places where he could have easily gone with a full piece of dimensional lumber instead. There are screws protruding on the side of the cabinets which are the only sides that face out so would have expected the screws to be hidden. He left part of one of the tops uneven, even though I brought to his attention before the painters came, so he had to come back out and fix it and the painters had to come back out and fix the paint again. Also when he put in the shelves after the paint (because he didn't have the shelf pins and had to order from amazon), he scratched up the paint pretty badly in pretty obvious places. I've worked in construction as my dad was a contractor and I fully understand things happen or sometimes things don't work out as planned but for the price I paid I would have expected much higher quality and less chasing to get this completed.

I found TX5J Handyman ("Daniel & Crew") on Yelp and contacted them. Danel came over, did a detailed FREE inspection and gave me a competitive quote in 24 hours. I then decided to hire them for the job. They came in at 7:30 A.M. in the morning to beat the summer heat. It requires piping and extension exhaust vent directly to outside top siding. It was not an easy job but they completed the job at 2:45 p.m. I am completely satisfied and happy with Daniel & His Crew. Photo is attached "Before and After". P.S.1 It's beautiful isn't it? I got frustrated and started a project on Yelp, TX 5J handyman responded very fast to my inquiry and came on the same day to give me estimate. Then gave me a very honest diagnosis for a short term fix and long term fix. I went with the short term for now and they came back the second day to fix it now the drain doesn't leak anymore. We agreed on a price and he gave me an ETA. I received a text that he was on the way and he arrived shortly after. Upon arrival, I showed him the task I needed completed and he got his tools and went to work. He completed the job in a timely manner and it was done to our satisfaction. I found John to be a very pleasant and competent repair tech. He was timely, courteous and professional. I highly recommend him.

This man does not even deserve 1 star. He put my mom and I through hell to finish a job that he…read morepromised us would take 3 days and turned out to be over one month. He would say he was coming and not show up several times and then he would have an excuse each time after I was finally able to get him to call me back or text me, yet he would demand down payments of 50% as "normal contractors would charge" he said, and then once again he would not show up after we paid. We never knew if he was going to ever come back each time. We had spent a lot of money on supplies and replacement items for this big bathroom water leak. We sat with all the supplies and a big hole in the wall that John opened up on his 1st day there to dry the area out and then we waited for over 3weeks for him to return when he was supposed to be back the next day (This allowed bugs from within community condo walls to have access to enter my mom's home with that wall wide open), leading us to a new big problem with bugs. At the end of this job, he had tripled the original price and demanded his money and left the bathroom a complete mess with so much not properly finished. After all of this, I found 3 other victims (2 of which I communicated with after what we went through) on multiple websites where this man either robbed them of their deposit, disappeared and never came back or he did to them what he did to us by showing up when he felt like it with no communications causing unnecessary stress. DO NOT, I REPEAT, USE THIS MAN'S SERVICE AND BECOME A VICTIM LIKE US. He has no conscience for what he does to people and is a repeat offender!
