I have had my loved one groomed at Bingos in Royal Oak (amazing staff) and at the Grosse Point Pet Salon- also very professional (in-laws were old Grosse Pionters) for the past half + decade) I only point this out as what I am about to show you, will be in disbelief, as it was to me. Tara, I believed attempted to rush and with disregarded the relationship between her and Chip. I have worked with patients who are homeless, belligerent and drug addicts- as a ER/ICU nurse from Detroit, Virginia to Sacramento. I understand these situations are difficult but you already committed by the time to called me. I believe there was no introduction or approach phase that Tara allotted. (Not saying my dog deserves the same respect to unconditional care, but does deserve the sense of approach as when to and when not to intervene, (that is all). Tara did not give Chip that condition, you lacked the humanity to sense that, and I sincerely hope you find peace before you preform maleficence (speaking to Tara). I actually stayed outside Auckland, NZ with sheep farmers during a student ambassador program (2006) I completed in through the USGov- who handled cattle for slaughter with more respect than what I believe Tara did for my beloved Chip. I have respect for Dr. Plein and his end handling of my relationship with them (no, I will never return). Tara is of NO action of Dr. Pleins'. She is an action of her own. I would have hesitation if she were to handle your beloved furry one. I have no opinion on her employment status but I would have HESITATION, as a registered nurse. AVOID TARA!!! For context. I dropped Chip off, who was somewhat matted. But the photos are of what I had been presented with on my return. Note the chunks of hair I proceeded to remove from Chip after the staff escorted him out of a cage. Chip was dropped off prior to the groomers arrival for her shift. The location opens at 8am, I dropped him of at the earliest 0730-0745. timestamp of my voicemail was 0808, to pick him up (also attached). They open at 0800, and seemingly she slighted straight towards sedation as if that were within her scope as a "groomer". This is of great concern BTW in a very fundamental way. Meanwhile, this was his and her first time encountering each other. In no longer than 8 minute (given that is when the voicemail started recording) between you clocking in and forcing your shears against my dog and being aggravated against him for his lack of tolerance for you being rushed... such an inhumane human being! She decided to shave him down the middle (like two-face) and then declare he was "too aggressive" to handle. Chip, was eventually managed by this facility. Like I said, this beloved family member of mine has never been dealt such MALEFICENCE from a proclaimed "groomer" such as Tara. Please avoid her as your groomer. Dr. Plein Rectified my disgust for the situation but I cannot speak for her continuation of employment. I can only say, here is your warning.

He then walked back to my home, I walked in 30 seconds later and there was vomit on my floor. The vomit was stepped in and on my carpet in other places. There was no mention in her note or when he walked by me that she vomited. Lately, when I have been coming home after he was here, she would run outside and poop right away. He would write down that she went potty, but after today I know that was not true. My dog has been getting sick a lot over the past 2 weeks and when I saw him eariler this week I asked him if he was giving her ONLY her treats. His response was I give her what treats I have in my pockets from other homes. We told in the beginning she gets sick from other treats and food. This makes me very upset and sick to my stomach. Im very sad for my dog and I will never have him come back to my home.

My cats are a little complex, two have stomach issues and one is diabetic. I left very clear instructions on medicine and food before leaving. I talked him through it, texted it to him for his records, and then labelled all the food containers with sticky notes so there would be no confusion. It's like he chose to ignore all of this. I discovered once I returned that no one had been fed the right food, or the right amounts, and my diabetic cat had not been given her insulin. I'm still plenty upset about this as I thought I'd left my fur balls in good hands. Absolutely do not recommend.

My pup used to come home exhausted and happy after a full day of play but then was coming home anxious and with gi issues because she was crated for sometimes 3 hours or more at a time. We don't choose daycare for her to be kenneled in a small cage. Many of her favorite 2 legged friends have left and the new staff is not nearly as engaging. We had, for over a year, standing reservations for Monday and Thursday daycare set up (indefinitely,) and all of a sudden our reservations are gone and they have no availability for 3 weeks. I was told it must have been a "computer glitch" which frankly was the final straw. I strongly suspect it is due to the fact I have been vocal on more than one occasion about the extended crate times and short play times. I give 2 stars because if you're looking to board your dog, Canine to five will meet your needs. If you're looking for your dog to come home happily exhausted after playing with their friends, this place no longer comes anywhere close to making that happen. The only exhaustion you're likely to see will be anxiety-induced from being crated for more than half the day.

After working with two other dog training companies and…read morespending over 12 weeks (& hundreds of dollars) trying to help my Frenchton, Yoda's reactivity toward other dogs, I was at my wit's end. Within five minutes of our very first lesson, Yoda pretty much stopped barking at other dogs -- something I never thought would happen. Tri Canine's behavior modification program truly works, and they take the time to understand the "why" behind each behavior. The trainers (Mike, Jule & Ashley) are so knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely care about helping both the dogs and their owners succeed. Now Yoda can even play with other dogs under supervision, which still amazes me (pictures for proof). If you're looking for reactive dog training, behavior modification, or obedience training, Tri Canine Campus is hands down the best place to go. I drive 35-40 mins each way just to take him there because it is 1000% worth every minute in the car! They've completely transformed our lives!

He did not need a prong collar, and as soon as we started using it he developed dog reactivity. At the suggestion of Tri-Canine, I continued to use the prong collar, but all that did is continue to create negative associations (PAIN) any time he saw another dog. I have spent YEARS trying to regain my dog's trust and help him overcome his reactivity. I started working with a positive reinforcement trainer, and they've helped a lot. I only have one regret in my life, and that's bringing my new puppy to this place. If you are not educated, do not let these people try to convince you that prong collars are necessary. You can see their response to my google review (same as above but tweaked to remove the word "Puppy") here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Ee6ofDDKpn8ARDBY6 But here is a quote: "A truly deceptive narrative, this client attended not only our Puppy class back in 2021 (2021!!!) but also went on to our Obedience One class and then to our Obedience Two class? " Yes, in their puppy class they don't use prong collars, but they do so in their obedience one and obedience two. As this was my first dog on my own, I trusted Tri Canine with the wellbeing of my dog, and they recommended continuing use of the prong collar when he started to become reactive. He was not reactive before attending this class and using the prong collar. It was 2021, during the pandemic, and I was not taking my dog many places outside of the classroom. And yes, I attended the class in 2021, and I'm still here in mid 2025 dealing with the repercussions of taking my dog to Tri-Canine. You can also see in their records that I withdrew my dog/stopped attending halfway through obedience two because I had gotten some second opinions from positive reinforcement trainers. It's pretty rich to try and blame Mini Schnauzers as a breed, when there are so many dogs that are prone to developing reactivity, and you all are "professionals" who are supposed to help people who are struggling with this issue. One thing that helps reactivity develop faster, is pain associated with triggers of fear. Had I known this, I could've avoided having a reactive dog. Reading this review, your one takeaway should be: POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO WITH YOUR DOG. AVOID THIS PLACE!

They cleaned her fine but they didn't have the tools necessary to get to her undercoat. This has caused some serious matting to my dog's undercoat. At first glance, she seemed fine. Her coat was clean and she was fluffy. However, upon further examination, I noticed her undercoat was severely matted, to the point where she's in pain any time I try to rake her coat to resolve the matting. They had called me and told me that they "tried their best" and that they couldn't get to her undercoat properly. But I wasn't aware it was this bad. She didn't have any matting before I dropped her off. After trying to get her mats out for a week myself, I had to go to another groomer to fix the mats. It took several hours and over $180 to fix the problem they caused. They might be fine for small dogs or short coat breeds, but if you have a large dog with a thick undercoat, DO NOT bring your dog here. If they didn't have the tools necessary, they should have let me know from the beginning. I would've rather had them deny service than deal with the repercussions of them doing the poor job they did. They even charged me the full $100 for the grooming when all they did was make my dog matted.
