I do NOT recommend Pawz Inn for grooming. While their boarding services are fine, their grooming services are sub-par. I dropped off my German shepherd for grooming services. They cleaned her fine but they didn't have the tools necessary to get to her undercoat. This has caused some serious matting to my dog's undercoat. At first glance, she seemed fine. Her coat was clean and she was fluffy. However, upon further examination, I noticed her undercoat was severely matted, to the point where she's in pain any time I try to rake her coat to resolve the matting. They had called me and told me that they "tried their best" and that they couldn't get to her undercoat properly. But I wasn't aware it was this bad. She didn't have any matting before I dropped her off. After trying to get her mats out for a week myself, I had to go to another groomer to fix the mats. It took several hours and over $180 to fix the problem they caused. They might be fine for small dogs or short coat breeds, but if you have a large dog with a thick undercoat, DO NOT bring your dog here. If they didn't have the tools necessary, they should have let me know from the beginning. I would've rather had them deny service than deal with the repercussions of them doing the poor job they did. They even charged me the full $100 for the grooming when all they did was make my dog matted. read more

This place is AWESOME, and I would recommend them to anyone that wants to board their dogs or have them in daycare to socialize with other dogs. They cancelled my dog's stay even though I paid for a full 6 months in advance because they found out I was asking around about other places that I can board my dog, ones with cameras so I can periodically check on him. This was the first time our 20 month old Pyrenees has had to be boarded and thanks to Pawz Inn it won't be his last. We were always very hesitant to leave him in the hands of anyone we didn't know but that fear has been quashed. Everything about his stay from the Meet and Greet through the drop off, boarding and pick up and communication was handled courteously and professionally. The staff we encountered all appeared to love what they do and Gunnar certainly seemed extremely happy while he was there. This was exhibited by the photos we saw posted on FB. Definitely the most canine interaction he's ever had. He will definitely be back because now we can rest easy knowing he's in good hands. in fact, I'm not sure who had a better vacation, him or us. If you're looking for a great place to board your dog, Pawz Inn is the place to go. They really do a fabulous job of taking care of your baby...and you can be sure your dog is in great hands when you're out of town. The owners and people who work there care about the dogs, and you can tell. Ruby always comes home pooped and passed out for at least a day and a half so I know that she had a good time! I don't feel guilty going for vacations when I leave her under the care of the people who work here, because I know it's a vacation for her too. :) Boarding your dog for a day and night is $35, but if you are boarding for 5 days or more, you get 5 bucks off per day and you don't have to prepay. read more

Pawz Inn has been such a blessing for my beloved cat, Kaycee. Before I found Pawz Inn, I would have to leave my poor baby girl at home alone during short business trips or take her on long car rides when visiting family, these situations were killer on her already anxious personality. Making her ride in a car only to end up at my mothers house to be introduced to 5 other indoor/outdoor kitties was traumatic for all involved. Kaycee is a bit of a alpha creature in our house and has gotten used to being the ONLY cat. She also tends to be a little stuck up and would rather not socialize with the outdoor adventure cats in Kentucky. Luckily, Tammy and her mom, Lenny - have been there to help solve my problems. Although still difficult to leave my baby, the pet sitting service from Pawz Inn releives my worry, should something happen while we're away. Lenny, who at our house is known as a relative or granny, visits, plays and protects our little maine-coon girl. When we arrive home Kaycee is calm and happy to see us. Her coat is brushed and it is clear that there has been some serious attention given. I hesitate to use the word spoiled but it's true, Lenny lets Kaycee watch Shrek, play in the basement and gives her special treats during the time she visits. This warms my heart to know that while away, Kaycee isn't lonely. Not to mention the security I feel having Lenny or any member of the Pawz Inn family keep our girl fed and the litter clean, but having the security knowing that you can trust your home will be visited and even the mail collected here and there. That comes from the goodness of this great establishment. Most services don't pay the attention to detail unless the consumer pays the extra fee. Speaking of, the fees are by far the most fair I've come across. Pet sitting is an expense and although it can be calculated and planned, no one ever thinks a cat will need a service other than the vet but it's true and Pawz Inn is very generous when it comes to their pricing. Especially for the amount of satisfaction they provide. The facility itself is a wonderful place to visit, it's very clean and inviting. The happy doggie faces and playing is adorable. It's clear the animals are well taken care of. You can really tell that everyone who works at Pawz Inn really cares about your animals and really enjoy what they do and now a days, that is hard to find. The teenagers they have hired as employees are unfortunately quite incompetent, which ruined my Thanksgiving travel plans. I met the owner a few weeks ago and she was very nice, our dog Poncho passed the initial assessment without a problem. We were asked to get him a vaccination that he was missing, which we did the very next day. Then the red flags began: I was called three times by three different employees asking if he had gotten the vaccination. This means poor or no communication between employees. The day we brought him, the guy receiving once again asked about the vaccination and, not believing me, called the owner to verify, which I found insulting. In the form we filled, we mentioned that Poncho is not comfortable being around larger dogs. Not noticing this, the employees proceeded to put Poncho in an area with large dogs, which made him very anxious. They called half an hour later to ask us to pick him up, saying he could not stay at Pawz Inn. This lack of professionalism ruined our Thanksgiving travel plans and cost hundreds of dollars in cancellation fees. read more

I brought my dogs here to try to start them at daycare. The guy was calling my dogs stupid which I was not okay with. The woman was really nice and my male dog became aggressive when trying to get him inside with the other dogs. He has never displayed that kind of behavior. We did not go through with the interview or dealing with their daycare. I don't think I want to go to a place where they call your dog out of their name. I ended up taking them to Canine to Five in Ferndale and they had no problem socializing with other dogs. I think my dog was trying to tell me something, Pawz Inn is not the place to be. read more

This place is the best! We tried a few doggie day cares and never liked what we found. I don't want to pay to have my dogs sit in a cage for long periods of time. We heard of Pawz Inn while at a dog park. We did the evaluation (which BTW all reputable dog day cares SHOULD DO!)...and we have been there ever since. We have been with them shortly after they opened! One of our dogs has had several health issues, and Tammy Jo, Dennis and Rosalie are always concerned and ask how he is doing. After he was diagnosed with diabetes 2 years ago, we were very nervous about leaving him and him getting his insulin. There has NEVER been a problem! Tomorrow is the day for me that every dog owner never wants to face. And as I thought about all of the people who have loved Arlo the last 15+ years, the wonderful folks at Pawz Inn are some of the first that came to mind. They have been so kind and caring to Arlo over the years - especially as he's creeped up in age. For example, as it became more difficult for him to get around, they let him hang in the front office with them and serve as the "greeter" during his stays. Tried getting my dog in for an evaluation and the gentleman on the phone said no evaluations over the weekend or past 6pm during the week. Well I work till 6pm so I can't be there before that time. Pawz Inn has been open for 10 years and we have been taking our dog there for 9 1/2 years. Family owned and operated, we see the same faces working there which is a comfort for us and our dog. We all know who will be watching her, not someone different every time. We never have thought about taking her anywhere else, Isabella loves Dennis & Tamee and they love her. After leaving 3 messages telling them I wanted to board my dog there for a week, someone finally decided to call me back. However, I was then informed that since my dog was a "mixed breed terrier" (we think she's a rhodesian ridgeback mix, truthfully) that she would have to undergo a "2 hour evaluation" which we would have to pay for. All because of her possible breed. I have other dogs, my mom has other dogs, she's been to parks, etc. and has never had an issue with another dog. I think it's unfair to make me pay for their prejudice. I won't board my dogs there, and frankly, based on their customer service and hours, wouldn't suggest anyone use them either. read more

We have recently moved to Michigan which leaves us with no sitters that our fur babies were comfortable with. I've always been hesitant leaving them at a boarding place but we had no other option. After doing our research we found Pawz Inn...not only were they very welcoming and friendly, they treated our dogs so well. They let us bring personal belongings to help them feel more comfortbale, and allowed them to stay together. One had to be on medications and soft food only, and they gave no hesitation to taking care of him. Everytime we called they knew exactly who we were and who our dogs were. I would highly recommend this place. We loved it so much we may even let them come a couple times a month to socialize. GREAT PLACE!!! read more

I have been taking my dogs here for years. First our male who had major anxiety issues and now our female. Both Weimaraners which are high energy and high strung. They have always been professional and wonderful at accommodating my dogs. Even at the last minute. In over the 10 years we have been regulars, neither of my dogs have been hurt, contracted kennel cough or anything. As far as some comments on the evaluation , it is not clean, etc... Totally untrue. I appreciate having dogs evaluated (including) mine to protect the dogs. I started coming here over 10 years ago due to my dog getting attacked at another daycare who didn't screen well. This is the only place that I trust to leave my dogs when I go on vacation. I have never left them at any other kennel and have heard many horror stories. They all are wonderful! read more

I brought my dogs in for a nail trim and they both ended up with kennel cough. The place smelled horrible and seemed dirty. It was extremely hot and there was no air or ventilation. Will not return. I will have to say the staff was nice but their nails didn't look any different then before bringing them in. read more
