We rented an Airbnb in Patten, Maine, to go ATVing and decided we wanted to go out for dinner one night. We called before heading out to make sure they were open before making the 35-minute drive. We're so glad we made the trip--this place was on point. There were six of us, and some decided to splurge on the aged ribeye. It was one of the best ribeyes we've ever had. I've gone here twice this summer. 2nd time with some girlfriends. We all got the special. The special was seafood linguine. We did not get water unless we asked for it. No side salad. No bread. Just linguine & a little seafood for $59! We each had 2 cocktails. Our bill was $96.05 each before the tip. Outrageous. I went to another restaurant last week to a lobster bake. It was a 5 course meal. $49 per person. I left there with leftovers. That meal included everything! Step it up Lakeside! read more

Just under new new owners, this is a very nice location overlooking the lake at the golf course. A club bar is attached. Food was excellent. Service very friendly and atmosphere neither too casual or too fancy. I will return to see if service gets better as there was only the co-owner when we arrived and a second waitress arrived before we left. read more

Beautiful scenery and a fitting end to our two week visit to Island Falls. Our party of ten was greeted at the door and ushered to our table where we were greeted by the owner and hostess. Specials are where it's at and the list varies nightly. Specials include appetizers, soups, salad and entrees so keep your ears open. We started with appetizers including crab Rangoon (what?), calamari, oysters Rockefeller, celery soup and peel your own shrimp. The crab Rangoon rocked with a creamy cheese infused with crab wrapped tightly by a wonton and fried. Calamari was plentiful, deep fried and battered with just the right chew. Oysters were succulent and the celery soup was interesting. Entrees at our table ranged from fried scallops to ravioli puttanesca to coffee grounds coated steaks to seafood tetrazzini. The scallops appeared a little under and lightly breaded although I would have preferred pan fried. Still they were delicious. The ravioli was a hit with an abundance of homemade ravioli. Server was bothered to be working. The food was marginally edible. Really the only thing they have going on here is the view. Sorry, wanted to like it. Don't believe me? There is a history with this place that needs to be told. It all revolves around Bill Roderick and his wife Nancy. When I met them they were out in Island Falls next to Jerry's Thrift. I remember going there when I was in my early teens. At that time I was introduced to Chef William Rodericks Garlic soup. To this day I have been craving that garlic soup. At some point they headed out to Houlton for more room. We followed them up there. My husband was introduced to the Texas Coffee Rub steak. Chef was polite enough to write down the ingredients. My husband and I still have that on a waitress ordering slip. The opportunity came for them to work out of the Houlton golf course, Lakeside Restaurant. The Lakeside Restaurant location is very picturesque! Parking is in the rear. It's on the Houlton Golf Course. Service is always spectacular! Not rushed this is a place to enjoy the company and the food. Nancy and her staff are so genuine. Their menu is the perfect size. I feel that is great, they can focus on the taste, and presentation of the food. The salad greens are always fresh, and the dressings are fantastic. My favorite is the Parmesan peppercorn. Chef makes a fantastic Texas coffee rub steak, and a delicious marinara sauce. The stuffed shrimp with the Rhode Island stuffing will fill you up just enough that there will be room for dessert. This is a gem right in Limerick, Maine. Do not pass this up. We always come here on our last night on vacation. It is a great end to a wonderful family vacation! read more

Out of the way but worth the trip. Golf course country club restaurant open to public. Full bar. Friendly and attentive wait staff but they were not very busy. All the menu entrees wE saw being delivered looked big and appetizing. About 6 miles from city of Houston or I95 exit. read more

We had a 50th wedding anniversary dinner here and had the best food and service we have experienced in a long time. The Prime Rib was superb and the shrimp linguine was wonderful also.
