When I was moved closer to her for another treatment, I asked her to leave because her coughing was spreading germs all over the place. She made a sarcastic remark. I immediately left, went to the front desk and canceled the rest of my 36 appointments. A business that lets sick employees amongst its customers, many elderly, should be avoided. BTW, the treatments I received were great by the therapists.

However, OPT on Ligon Mill Road in Wake Forest tops them all! Olivier and his staff were recommended to me through a home PT after a full knee replacement. Adding to this surgery were complications from Vertigo as well the right knee in the same shape as the pre surgery left knee was. My appts have been on time, positive mental attitudes from all staff members, along with just the most friendly professionals, and very knowledgable. Full knee replacements can take a lot of time, patience and work. Having such trained pros helping us to recover, heal and strengthen without overdoing it - makes all the difference! I know what I am going to be going into with another full knee replacement coming up, but with the care of OPT I am ready to schedule the next. Thank you all for the incredible first rate patient help you give all your clients!

Went to the Oxford office this week and saw PA Kevrin Johnson. I recently started having severe…read morenerve pain down my right leg due to Sciatia (L5-S1 disk in my case from previous x-ray/MRI). I previously was prescribed prednisone in a 6 day stepdown from an earlier visit with EmergeOrtho and halfway through the stepdown the predisone level of 30mg/day did not help with the nerve pain at all which is why I scheduled a followup with EmergeOrtho and saw PA Kevrin Johnson. He provided a shot of Toradol, (which I appreciated, but has not helped in the last 28 hrs) ordered an MRI, along with Gabapentin (which I just started 12 hrs ago) and said that he would call in a 12 day prescription of Prednisone so I could do 2 days at 60mg, 2 at 50mg, etc. (his words). I went to the pharmacy and this is not what he called in. We (Kevrin and I) spoke on the phone and when I asked what options I had to help with the severe nerve pain until the MRI and follow up with the Ortho Dr. for a more long term solution that could be had...he said to take Tylenol and has refused to call in anything additional. This leaves their patient with 2 weeks of severe, debilitating nerve pain. Sadly, its easier in this country to be over-subscribed Opiods than to be prescribed something as simple as a higher dose of prednisone for a short period of time. I was not interested in pain meds of any type, I simply was asking for something that Kevrin acknowledged was one of the only options that actually helped in these cases and was given no help and no other meaningful options.

My wife had been happy with her experience with Emerge Ortho (Oxford) physical therapy, so I decided to give them a try the next morning. They performed x-rays and referred me to one of their surgeons, Dr. Takenaga, who operated at the NC Specialty Hospital in Durham. They turned a bad day into a good experience. The surgery was quick, painless, and I was happy with the end result. The PT afterward went well. Emerge Ortho, their surgeon and the NC Specialty Hospital staff have my 5-star rating. I highly recommend them.

STAY AWAY !!! FAR FAR AWAY !!!…read more I had received a massage from Healing Touch in July 2012 and it was really an excellent massage. In January 2013, I received a call from Healing Touch that they were running a special for $100. I asked if l could I use the therapist of my choice. I was told that I could. I asked if the therapist who had given me a previous massage still worked there and was told yes. My husband went by and paid the $100 in cash and he was given the coupons. Sometime in February 2013, I called to make an appointment with my therapist. I was told she no longer worked there. I asked when she left and I was told she left sometime before Christmas 2012. Apparently when they called me with their special, this therapist had already resigned. I did happen to run into the therapist that I requested in the grocery store. She told me she left in September 2012. This really upset me, as I felt that the employee who called me from Healing Touch straight out lied to me. I called the owner, Doris, of Healing Touch and explained the situation to her. I told her that I wanted my money back as the therapist that I specifically requested was no longer there. She said she would give me my money back, but to not tell anybody else because she didn't want anybody calling to request their money back. She told me that they were moving and to give her a couple of weeks to get moved and she would call me back and return my $100. Needless to say, she never returned my call. I called her 4 times after that, she gave me excuse after excuse, and said she would return my call in 2 weeks....today is 04/12/2013 and she has yet to return a call. I have had to call her repeatedly, only to be given the run around each time. I called her today, 04/12/2013, and she was very unprofessional, ranting and raising her voice like a crazy person. She actually screamed at me and hung up on me. When I called back to get their mailing address, the lady who answered the phone said, and quote, "Listen, she doesn't have time to listen to your bull" and then she hung up on me. I called back, the same lady told me she was calling the police and then hung up. I tried to call back numerous times, no answer. I have filed a complaint and a review the BBB. I will also file a review everywhere on the web that I can find. I will also spread the word to everyone I know here in town. My husband works at a very large company where he comes in contact with many individuals - so he'll pass the word as well. I will get the word out about this business through as many avenues as possible. I also plan to file a claim in small claims court if I do not receive my money back by the date she gave me, 04/19/2012. Selling services under false information is illegal. The lobby of this business is plastered with Christian religious information - pamphlets, information, signs, tracts, etc. I shudder to think that the woman who owns this business would call herself a Christian - such behavior, regardless of her religion, is reprehensible. UPDATE Saturday, 04/13/2013....Just a brief update, I received a call from the owner (Doris) this morning telling me that she had my money. I called back to tell her I would be in to pick it up at her requested time of 10:30 a.m. and to get directions. The employee who answered the phone told me Doris was unavailable and proceeded to become very hostile and belligerent and she said some really nasty and ugly things. This is the same employee who was also extremely nasty and belligerent yesterday afternoon. I ended up having to call the Police Department and requesting to have an officer escort me to the business to pick up my refund because I was quite apprehensive about going into this place alone with these 2 people and who knows what/who else. The police officer met me in the parking lot of the business, escorted me inside, and I picked up my money, returned the massage coupons and left. This was a first for me in my 54 years on this planet and I still can't believe it. I am simply astounded that somebody actually runs a business in this manner. This was a very, very disturbing experience for me. I will definitely continue to spread the word about this business and their dishonest practices and their horrendous treatment of customers. The Christian community might also want to send up a prayer - as this business, it's owner, and it's employees really do represent Christianity in a very poor light.
