Very uncomfortable for my husband, they did warn if you were on the heavy side you probably wouldn't like it. No water pressure. The breakfasts were skimpy and gross. Sorry. The grounds were unkempt. Decorations didn't flow. I know they have been in business for a while, but they don't seem to enjoy running a bed and breakfast anymore. If you have pets, they do allow them which is nice. It was hot, so we had the window open the whole time there. 40 degrees outside, felt like 80 inside. The owner is a bit gruff in his conversations, colorful language, if you can't handle that, don't go there.

It's perfectly located within a short walk of historic downtown with its boutique stores, restaurants and an amazing little wine bar. But back to the inn, Tom & Christi were very welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed. Our room was comfortable and quiet! They took great care in the remodeling of this old house to be sure guests wouldn't hear their neighbor. Each of the 3 rooms has it's own ensuite. Nice touches include: BIG flat screen tv, Kuerig coffee maker, bottles of water, and super soft fluffy towels. The bed was firm but comfortable, and pillows are NOT down (great for allergic people like myself). After a morning bike ride (we brought ours along) along the lake front we returned to a fresh hot breakfast of eggs (we picked scrambled but Tom will accommodate your preference), turkey sausage, toast, Tom's homemade hash, and fresh fruit. Juice, coffee, and a nice tea selection are available too. I really liked that they asked if we wanted this or that, didn't just put down a plate of food (when I made the reservation Christi made a point of asking if we had any food allergies or likes & dislikes). Note: this is the only B&B we've stayed at that had a toaster with Pop tarts available for guests to toast themselves! The house has undergone a complete remodel thanks to the Kapps. They did a wonderful job. And they are friendly inn keepers with a lot of knowledge of the area. Be sure to visit their website for the history of the house.

A large portion of the property floods repeatedly during hurricanes, which is a KNOWN issue. The "Christians" who run this organization do not mention this information when they rent to these poor old souls. When Shingle Creek floods, the water treatment facility then floods, and raw sewerage backs up through toilets into residents homes. Next comes the contaminated flood waters. Finally the GSS information line voicemail fills up, Facebook responses contain no information, and residents are left to find shelter while mold grows on their belongings in their flooded homes. Repeated again during Hurricane Ian. AVOID!!!

My father had some women crawling in bed with him and he was unable to get up. Later he had a patient that just would walk in the bathroom when he was using it. The assisted living facility is nothing but a money making machine. They have none of the amenities they say they have. They do NOT have the proper staff to take care of the residents. Please please don't ever place your parents here.

The bathroom... the faucet to the tub wasn't attached to the wall, the lower shelf was falling off the wall and the hinges on the door were rusted and you couldn't close it entirely without pushing really hard. The kids suite was done as a western theme but the adult side was beach. Nothing was plugged in but the fridge and the microwave. And the phone was broken and not plugged in. The toilet backed up, not just in our room but in the halls too. Another guest, during check in, mentioned that as long as he had stayed there, the cafe/store hadn't been open more than once during the week and then it was only open from 9am to 1pm. Good thing there are stores nearby. The pluses. The beds were really comfortable and there were no bugs. Water pressure for the shower was pretty good.

Pros Two extremely large pools that go 9ft deep + The price is unbeatable Private owners Cons Rooms are dark scary and dirty. This was reminiscent of the 1960-70s and it feels almost as though time has stopped and no one had cleaned much since then. I stayed at a room in the back of the property. Maybe they neglect that area because, it's towards the back? One of the beds seemed to be moist? That alarmed me the most. The sheets were visibly dirty too. Very disappointing. BF I came with had stayed there before and had mentioned that the rooms used to be way nicer and mentioned that he previously stayed in a diff part of the hotel. So maybe the rooms in the back aren't great? Microwave was filthy. Walls are cracked. You get what you pay for. Pool burned my BF eyes and he feels like something was wrong with the water. He actually got an eye infection from it. My best assumption is that it was not cleaned properly? Which is gross and scary to think about. I booked one night last minute to see what it was like before booking any more. Glad I was only locked in to one night so after the one night, I ended up leaving and going elsewhere. I wanted to like this place because of the pools and the rich history. I just think they need to step up cleaning practices tremendously, and update all the rooms to a modern vibe. That would truly turn this place around. The property itself is situated in a great location. The pools are unbeatable in the area - just needs a ton of TLC. I hope the owners take heed to this review. As it is today I wouldn't recommend anyone staying any longer than 1 night. It's just not up to par. Some people called this place a dump, and sadly I would have to agree right now. I do see the potential for better though, hopefully the owners care enough to do something about this before it's too late
