I am updating my review: As of now, unfortunetly we are still living here. This is because they sneakingly make you sign your lease and in there states that when you leave, you have to give a 60 day written notice. OK, we all know that when you move and if you rent, that new renter wants someone to move in right away so they are not loosing money. Which means, You have to give 60 day notice and pay 2 months rent while paying 2 months rent in the new place, honestly, in this economy who can afford that? RENTER BEWARE: if you rent here know that!!! This property has just recently gone under new management, everything is going worse downhill. The upkeep around the grounds is filthy, leaves everywhere, fallen trees everywhere. You used to be able to place a maintenance call and have a 48 hour turn around. Now, be willing to wait about 10 days and make about 4 phone calls to then realize your work order "slipped through the cracks" The office staff is starting to be friendly a little (mind you they are under new management, so they are all minding their P's and Q's) For now. NOW, let me start about the sexual molesters and predators that live here. There is 1 other review that individually lists all of their offenses. PLEASE BELIEVE they are ALL true, sadly. I am raising a child here and now fear for their life and my life everytime I truck in from my carport that is pretty far from my apartment. I no longer leave at night alone or walk or run on the complex as I could easily be picked up by one of the "predators" that is living here that has been convicted of "RAPE" and "RAPE BY FORCE AND FEAR" and "SODOMY" and "SODOMY" of a "FOREIGN OBJECT" Please someone explain to me how anyone would want to raise a family here in this "Family Friendly" environment. HA HA not even close. I live in fear now, I live watching over my shoulder and afraid to look at anyone. I just found my "CARPORT" neighbor that I talk to on several occasions on MEGANS LAW WEBSITE for lewd acts with a minor under 14. Please tell me how I should sleep at night! Please, I know times are really tough, and the economy is in the toilet, but unless this is your last resort, I highly advise to keep looking. The management team should really be ashamed of themselves. ALSO, it is "our" responsibility and due diligence to look up on the websites for these people and decide where we want to live. These people have taken precious things of innocent people and are living foot loose and fancy free as I have to live in fear for my safety and life. I hope that this has been helpful. As to the laundry facilities, still a joke. You would be lucky to have 1 or 2 of the 3 machines working. People are slobs here and leave their clothes in the machines and lint all over. The only laundry rooms that have new machines are the ones by the leasing office. This is because they show this to you on your tour so you are "impressed" Ask to see multiple facilities. There are people that come here that do not live here and use the gym. So keep in mind, that you maybe talking to people that are not your "neighbors" its very scary how easy it is to get into this place. All of the reviews you are reading are correct. They get you in by showing you the glamour of the models and the pools. The staff tells you what you want to hear. The laundry machines are always broken. It does not matter how many time you call in the machines, they do nothing to contact the company that runs them. When they come out they just switch the macines around. The club house and smaller gym are a joke, the machines never work. No one is helpful. They have a very minimal screening process. They let sex preditors live here, its very very creepy. So much vandilisom. When you call in the complaints, they just say ok thanks for letting us know, i will let management know. Someome tried to take my gas last weekend from my car. The people who live here and nothing but inconsiderate and loud. The buildings are very old and not updated at all, so you can hear you neighbors up stairs walking around at all hours of the night. Woodchase, Parkside commons, or the raquet club are much better then this dump, look into them before you really have to choose this place. The staff in the office and liars. I am only giving 1 star because you can not go lower. We are trying to leave now. This place is not safe, and the staff or the "management" team does nothing to insure your safety. Worst rental experience ever. When we first moved in in 2008, the complex was owned by different owners. The grounds were immaculate - never saw a piece of trash. Maintenance was speedy. They had community activities such as an annual crab dinner, easter eggs for the kids, etc. The tenants were very nice. All of this changed by 2009. They were bought by another owner and over time everything went to s***. Trash all over the grounds. Cars broken into all the time. Apartments broken into. The place truly is filled with drug addicts, gang bangers, prostitutes, and sex offenders. The pools are a filthy nightmare and when they are used it is by huge groups of bangers who keep regular residents out of the pools. The noise is unbelievable. Any complaints to the office about noise, unsafe conditions, or seeing a break-in get referred to the San Leandro PD (who never come). With a couple of exceptions the office staff are rude, unpleasant, and downright dishonest. We finally managed to leave, but not before we noticed that they tried to stiff us for the $400 move-in special we'd gotten. Since we lived there for 3 years, we were entitled to this money. It took 12 messages to the manager who never called back and finally a call to the regional manager before they corrected this. This was after they sent us a bill demanding payment within 4 days or they would send us to collections. They owed us money, not the other way around. The laundry machines are always broken. I have seen washers sit there with filthy water in them for months. The dumpsters are always full and don't get emptied nearly often enough. There are rats everywhere. Hello, Watch out for move out scam at Lakeside village. 1. Even if you keep everything in very good condition, they are not going to return your single penny deposit and they will charge left and right. 2. Carrier posts will be stolen and complaint to lakeside management is waste and they will not help you. 3. Half of the time in an year, wall painting and mold issues most of the October to April timeframe. 4. Check your apartment power unit and they will connect to outside area and make you pay the bill without knowing you. 5. Heater fixed at most of the apartment is very old. If you switch-on for an hour or two, you get $100 PGE bill for sure. 6. Caution! It is not over and is just beginning. They will not tell you the complete procedure to vacate apartment. First they will prepare a balance sheet of your deposit and the fake charges for the apartment you lived. That ends up with no deposit return. 7. Again, if you are not familiar with PGE, water account closure, they will make you to pay everything for the electricity bill for cleaning apartment, repair apartment appliances, Fridge and all other carpet cleaning motor running in your electricity bill along with the additional water and other utility bill until you realize that you have not closed the account. You will be end up with paying another 1 month rent without actually living in the apartment(Believe me I did not know I have to close this account soon after I vacate apartment, I have paid $175 PGE bill for them and then b*ood*y b**ch leasing manager who replaced Holly did not even care to show concern or to meet me or pick up the call when I called). 8. If you go and ask them to reimburse, they will not do as they don't have procedure to return money policy. 8. It is waste of your time if you try to contact Freidkin management complaint etc. 9. Horrible Apartment manager who replaced Holly (who was the only gem of the person in the whole team rest all are fake) sits at Lakeside leasing apartment and she doesn't even care of seeing you if you try to discuss with them. They ask their subordinates to inform you to leave if you walk-in to the leasing office. 10. But don't worry, when you are trying to sign lease, they won't make you feeling that. You will realize only when you start living in that apartment. 11. Security is another issue. Car parts stolen, someone else parking in your reserved areas are common thing. DO NOT MOVE TO THIS GHETTO DUMP. I'm a POC so this is not a race thing period. It's a thing of they let all the criminals in the east bay move in. I lived on Creekside dr and Waterfall way, both ratchet as ever. Total of 6 years lived here, over the past 3 years I felt like I was in west Oakland, moved out 6/2020! Do not move here thinking it looks nice and is affordable because it's a trick and it's not worth it. These people want me to pay them, on top of my $700 deposit(they kept) an additional $300 just for smoke fee BS, make it make sense right?. Money hungry, TERRIBLE people. I moved because I couldn't take anymore parking lot parties and FIGHTS, POLICE is there at least 4 times a week maybe more, I'm not lying at all. HOMELESS people run in and out all day and night. Tommy, who just says anything not thinking if it makes sense, will try to charge you extra for prorated rent. Good thing I have a brain and knows when something isn't right! Linda will make it seem as if she's trying to help but she full of it, she's trying to help get money. Dail, dil or whatever her name is, is rude and picks up the phone as if it's her cell phone, they're ALL RUDE AND HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, Linda had the best customer service and it was still BAD.
