I can only speak on building 85, which has a hot water outage every other month. The main maintenance man does a lot of nothing. The apartment beneath me consistently has "a leak" that requires maintenance to come into my apartment every other week, most recently claiming the leak was fixed but they found more water. Here's a thought: a fixed leak no longer leaks; therefore, the leak wasn't fixed. He asks for access to the apartment for the entire day, only to go in for 5 minutes, then claim he needs to come back on a different day. I had mice running through my apartment, maintenance claimed they sealed any holes, yet the mice would leave and return. The contracted pest control person is no better, stating his goal is to "trap and dispose" meaning he would put 8 large sticky traps in a 600 sq ft apartment to trap the mice, but did nothing to keep them from coming in. I woke up one morning with a dead mouse in my bathtub. Whether a tenant moves out or in, my utilities have gone up and stayed up and is not dependent on usage because it's the exact same price each month. Someone with a 1-bedroom apartment without a washer/dryer, pays the same for utilities as someone without a washer/dryer even though someone with a washer/dryer uses more utilities. Meanwhile, the price to wash clothes in the laundry room started at $2.25 a load 1 years ago, and now it's up to $3.00 a load, with sub-par maintenance on the machines. If you move in, check your lease carefully, because the new management couldn't get my lease information correct so I had to put addendums myself. Things like stating I had a microwave in the unit when I moved in, though I purchased my own microwave. Unfortunately, it seems Vasona Management isn't the best fit for this community. The office is closed most of the time, the answering service may or may not relay a message, and after-hours maintenance is a joke. If you move in excited by them have a parcel locker, think again. The door leading to the parcel locker is only unlocked if someone is in the office. If they are not in the office, your package is liable to wind up outside at any door the delivery person chooses, and you have to hope you can get home and find it before a thief does. Lastly, there are duplicate apartment numbers for building 77 and building 85. If you live in (for example) apartment 85/101 and your package is delivered to apartment 77/101 (picture and all), if 77/101 refuses to give you your package, management won't help. You'd be better off selecting a parcel locker at a grocery store; at least you'd actually get it. read more
