He was traveling alone by himself and it was horrible knowing that he had to sleep at a rest area. We stayed in the Robert Harper Suite, one of three units, which featured a loft that we especially enjoyed. The separate kitchen area was thoughtfully stocked with essentials like a coffee pot and refrigerator, and storage space. The four-seat dining table was a nice touch. Each room includes a hot tub for two, which had plenty of hot water throughout our stay. Breakfast was plentiful and satisfying--an assortment of fruit, pastries, muffins, fresh-baked bread, homemade granola, an fresh omelet for each guest. Sue is a good cook. It was delivered by 7:30 a.m., and guests served themselves. The dining room fits three couples, but guest rooms feature space to eat privately. During our stay, two couples who traveled together ate together, while we enjoyed breakfast privately in our suite. Housekeeping was attentive as our room was refreshed with clean towels and trash removal daily, even without requesting it. Small details stood out, like many nightlights placed in hallways and stairwells--especially helpful when going up to the loft. Many Grandma's heritage antiques, flowers and crafts of a gone by era are spread throughout the property. Only one downside; temperature control. The house was set on air conditioning, and while the days were pleasant, the evenings turned chilly (dropping below 40°F), and then it rained, bringing even more cool. The in-room fireplace heater wouldn't turn on, and unlike a hotel, the thermostat can't be adjusted per room. While we made do by layering with sweaters and pants, and using all the blanket bedding, it was chilly. It's something to keep in mind when visiting in changing to cooler Fall weather. Overall, the Polly Harper Inn offered a cozy, accommodating stay with lots of thoughtful touches. We especially appreciated the charm of the property, the attentive hosts, and the comfort of our suite. It was also quiet as we didn't hear the other guests very often. Being so close to the lake during winter was a beautiful experience and having a warm, relaxing room to stay in was incredible. We immediately slipped into the provided robes, ran out onto the deck and opened up a bottle of wine we picked up from Firehouse Winery. After a quick cheers and a photo we got too cold and ran back inside to the warm fireplace. We sat in front of the fire sipping our wine and before we knew it, it was all gone. We called the on site restaurant to order another and a charcuterie board not realizing we were cutting it close to closing time. After thinking for a moment the person who answered the phone kindly obliged and sent over a great wine and the most beautiful charcuterie board that we promptly devoured. We ended our evening in the comfortable jacuzzi tub and then slept in the incredibly comfortable bed. The Lakehouse Inn and more specifically the beach house suite is the perfect stay if you're looking for rest, relaxation and impeccable service. We definitely enjoyed the quiet side of Geneva-On-The-Lake during the winter.

During our first visit, Tracy was welcoming and helped us choose the wine cellar as the proposal location. The day before, we met with her to confirm setup details since we would be decorating the space with flowers and candles. When we arrived the next day at our agreed-upon time, Tracy appeared surprised and seemed unaware the proposal was happening that day. She seemed flustered and inconvenienced, which was disappointing considering how much planning had gone into the weekend. While she did allow us to check in early (which we appreciated), the setup itself felt uncomfortable as we were supervised by a high school-aged employee despite everyone involved being adults in our 30s. The restaurant staff were wonderful and truly the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience felt more restrictive than welcoming. We were stopped from briefly showing the engaged couple's friends their room, felt monitored regarding pool usage, and overheard staff discussing reporting the number of guests using the pool. We understand having rules, but the way these situations were handled made us feel like we were being treated as a problem rather than valued guests. The final issue occurred when we returned to the Inn around 1:45 a.m. and the owner knocked on our door shortly afterward stating that guests had complained about noise. We were respectful of other guests and made every effort not to disturb anyone. The property itself is beautiful, and the restaurant team was excellent, but the hospitality experience did not match the expectations for a property at this level. We came to celebrate a very special moment and left feeling unwelcome. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.

As of Sunday, it had not been repaired & Brenda at no point came to check on the situation herself -sheets stained -hair throughout shower on check in -no trash cans on the beach -Overflowing trash cans on the street -Playground equipment removed, leaving hazardous holes in several places where they were not properly filled -My parents bathroom door handle broke, locking her in the bathroom in the middle of the night for quite some time. My brother & father to fixed it, as everyone was on eggshells with Brenda -Slander. My uncle asked Brenda for the owners contact info, she started yelling at him, told him he 30 minutes to get off the premises or she was calling the cops. He opted to wait for the officer, along with no less than 20 friends & family who were witness to Brenda's irrational behavior that day, as well as throughout the week to him & others. However, the officer came & told my uncle it was Brenda's right to have him removed, stating Brenda sited my uncle was aggressive. What a joke. I heard from first time guests that when she didn't answer the number listed on the office door while they were trying to check in, they went to the beach to kill time & she promptly chased them down & approached them with such hostility they barely had a chance to tell her they were guests. Way to make a first impression. The VP was responding & defending the actions of this awful woman & turning the actions around onto the guests that have been loyal returning guests for years on another review site, until suddenly their whole listing "disappeared". I can't help but wonder if Ryan(the VP) has met this woman & if he actually wants to run a profitable business. If they really do plan on building a Bar & Grill on site as she has said, I hope they have a better business plan than running off return customers.
