Scrub-a-dub-dub, I'm a reluctant member of the laundromat club. While I can't blame the locals for my landlord's stinginess that denies me a W&D, I have had to do some serious searching to find a worthwhile laundromat. Lakewash isn't the fanciest, cheapest, or by any means best laundromat in the world, but it is definitely one of the cleanest I've ever seen and it gets the job done without breaking the bank. I've tried a few other places in the area and this one is by far my favorite. What's good to know? There are three different sizes of washers (the biggest ones can easily fit a comforter) and the prices are clearly spelled out in charts on the wall. The dryers are 8 minutes per quarter and are super powerful - the real reason I keep coming back here. There's free parking on the street or extra spaces in back. Plus, it's conveniently located right in between the liquor store (aka: Ride Aid) and Stop & Shop if you want to sneak a snack between cycles. read more

Great laundromat with convenient hours of service, can also do drop off they do excellent job with wash and fold. I'm always very happy with my loads very clean with good scent. The management often stopped by to make sure everything is up to par. Sometimes there is special during the week as incentive for discount on wash and dry. read more

This location is actively open and is the best location in the Highland Park, New Brunswick area to wash clothes, and drop off for wash and fold. I'd love to say that I was bribed with free detergent but it is just not true. I don't write fake or fluffed up reviews. I am not anti Veteran (my father is a veteran). I am merely a consumer with a Yelp account. **** My Experience: I lived in the area since 1997. Lived several times in HP and always used this laundromat by default. One night I came in and they would not let me in to do laundry. I tapped on the glass door and the lady told me that they were closed, HOURS before the listed closing time. I YELPed another laundromat that was open and found one very nearby and found it to be a much better experience. It's not my fault that Lakewash is tiny, with one tiny bench, and one folding table, and one TV that only plays spanish TV. Somtimes I'd be sandwiched on the bench between Sweaty and Smelly, reading a book because there was no wifi. Sometimes I'd stand in the corner, or have to wait for the folding table, or have to go for a walk because it was just too crowded in the tiny laundromay. It's not my fault that I found the other facility to be waaay better and comfortably accommodating. It's not rocket science. THREATENING CUSTOMERS WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR REVIEWS. read more

The laundromat is now under new management. I had an awful experience with the new owner. I've been patron of the laundromat since it opened, managed by various owners. Today I complained to the new owner about a washing machine that had a low water level. The response I received was, "I see suds." My response was "But there's no water." My insistence that the washer was malfunctioning was received with a hostile response. The new owner made no effort to reconcile the situation. I insisted that there was a problem, and the owner stated that he did not like my tone and that he was calling the police. I said that it would be a good idea. The police arrived and I was informed that the owner has banned me from the laundromat. I removed my (unwashed) laundry from the machine and went across the street to Wayne's World to finish my laundry. read more

The best laundry place in the area for me. The only laundromat in the area where machines have 2 wash cycles (pre-wash & main wash). For me this makes our clothes cleaner. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Will definitely recommend this laundromat to friends and family. read more

nice clean place with modern washers abd dryers. last wash at 1030 pm. they have drop off wash , dry and fold service for $1.25 a pound with a minimum weight of 15 pounds. there are some nice new giant washers with 50 pound capacity. there is a tv with the sound on.. turtlemen is a program i would never otherwise have become aware of... a big sign says no eating, perhaps contributing to why it is so clean in here. plenty of places to eat in the general vicinity here in downtown highland park. read more

Discovered this laundromat after I unwillingly neglected to do laundry as a result of working 60 hours. I ended up with close to 56lbs of laundry and didn't know what to do. I finally decided to go to Lakewash and must admit the service there was remarkable. When I arrived to pick up my clothes, I found that they had already been sorted as well as neatly organized. They are reasonably priced, prompt, and extremely friendly. I will definitely be back. read more

real fortunate to have found this laundromat. as a laundromat the most important thing to me is: cleanness, modern washers and dryers, and experience. i can truly say lakewash laundromat has all of this. after a long work week the last thing i want is to have to make ANOTHER trip to the laundromat, and this was happening to me routinely with other local places. i am thankful to have met, handpick (the owner). he made me feel right at home and helped me with whatever it is i needed. all in all, i don't really mind washing my clothes anymore. read more

My husband and I dropped off a lot of clothes a few months ago, as we were going through something at our home. Well, come to find out, they shrunk every single one of my sweaters. It's common knowledge that you DON'T put most sweaters in the machine to dry with everything else. I'm so aggravated because we just found this out. I was not pleased at all with the customer service of this place. I called them around 4:50 pm hoping to drop off my laundry and pick up the same day. I know that this is late,however, I work early mornings until late afternoon. I only had a bag of wash that would take about 2 hours to finish. I couldn't stay and do my own wash as I had an obligation. Before going here I called them to see if they would be able to complete my request. The guy I talked to on the phone said if I came in now they would be able to complete my same day service. I packed my laundry, got in the car and arrived 15 mins after talking on the phone with them. I was met by a lady who told me it was "too late" for same day service. I explained that I had called what they had told me and she said " no". This was a complete inconvenience, if they had told me when I called that it was too late it be one thing. Instead they made me drive all the way there to tell me "no". Since they are open until 10pm not sure why they couldn't complete my request especially since they agreed to on the phone. Clearly this place lacks communication, respect and honest customer service. read more
