The food was terrible and bore no resemblance to the korma, butter and samosa chaat we have had at many other establishments. The servers seemed incredibly unhappy to be there and didn't pay attention to us even though we were the only people in the establishment. They were walking around with AirPods in their ears. I noticed that the pitcher of water they put on the table for self service they moved from a dirty table back to the station for taking to another table without an effort to replenish or clean it. Picked up some food from Laliguras and was so happy with what we got! We got an order of the steamed veg momo, fried veg momo, and 2 of the veg chowmein noodles. The noodles were the perfect amount of spicy, and the momo were very flavorful. Everything tasted like authentic Nepalese food! Would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

I came here with a friend a few days ago and had a mixed experience. On the one hand, the food was decent, and prices (vis-à-vis portions) were about what I would expect in this area for this type of food. The restaurant wasn't very busy and we were able to get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. On the other hand, the service was disappointing and a miscommunication could have been handled differently. We had ordered the Nepali Thali to try a few different things (it comes with rice, dal, pickle, and curry). We confirmed that it came with 2 different meats and discussed these options together as friends and with our waiter together. The plan was to split this but somehow the waiter missed that. The waiter did not confirm (as is best practice) our order and later came back with one Nepali Thali for each of us with both meats for both of us (I am confused why we would discuss which meats to share if we were then going to get separate platters with this? Maybe it was a language barrier thing)? As the food came out, when we acted confused the server did not react or apologize for any confusion and since we didn't want to cause a commotion, we just decided to take both and pay for them even though it doubled the price of our meal and was much more food than we wanted or needed. We also got the veg pakora, which were sufficiently fried and tasty as expected. The Thali mixed platter was very rich and with some of the items, like the Chicken Masala, it was very heavy, and rich to the point of not feeling that great afterwards (maybe too much butter/salt) even though it was tasty). First experience here was good. Second experience, the raita was so old it was fizzing!!!! I didn't notice at first cause I was so hungry and had gotten take out and was ravenous. I put the first taste of raita in my mouth and almost projectile vomited it was so rancid. The rest of the dishes were overly oily and salty. I sadly found nothing among two appetizers and entrees to be enjoyable. The service was great in that they fully reimbursed the cost of my takeout, other than that I sadly have nothing positive to say about their food. Really yummy and very reasonably priced! Vegan friendly. The server was so nice! He helped us find vegan items and said he could make certain items vegan when we asked. Also knew what was gluten free and not. The Dahl was super flavorful, and the veggie pakora was really well done. Loved both the dipping sauces. Would come back! I have a shrimp allergy. I ordered my momos to be steamed instead of fried so that there would be no chance of cross-contamination with the oil that fries shrimp (unsure if they even serve shrimp, but just being safe)...well, our momos came out fried. I tend not to be picky and would have been okay with fried, so I asked if they fry shrimp in the same oil. When our server said that they do, I told him that I needed steamed momos, not fried (I ordered steamed in the first place). He then said "too late, they are already cooked" and refused to remake the momos steamed instead. He insisted that no shrimp had been fried in the oil and that it was fresh oil. I wanted momos, and he was so reassuring...so I ate them. I'll spare you the details, but I ended up having an allergic reaction over the next few days. Fortunately, my allergy isn't deadly, but for someone else it could be! The food tasted good, so 2 stars instead of 1. But definitely won't be going back. read more

Still dreaming that I'm back at this restaurant... we stopped here on our way through Burlington and I'm so glad that we did. Since it was a beautiful day, we decided to eat outside the restaurant, which was overlooking a busy street that was perfect for some people-watching. We ended up ordering mango lassi, samosas, goat biryani, and chicken korma, which were all spectacular. We even ended up having enough leftovers for a couple meals afterwards! They don't have naan, which was a disappointment, but they had another kind of flat bread that was just ok. Fantastic food. Table ordered paneer tikka masala and chicken biryani, plus fried chicken momo, paratha bread, and gulab jamun. Everything tasted delicious and went really well with each other. We went on a slow night and had zero issues with service, very friendly and just the right level of attentiveness - we were never waiting around but every check in served a purpose. Casual dining, open late relative to other restaurants in the area. Definitely going on my rotation of great restaurants to go to with friends! Newer restaurant so I hope it does well and stays around for a while! I was very please with La Liguras, a delicious Indian restaurant and I have been at this place a few times now. The ambiance and space is great, and a good place to bring a date in beautiful Church st in Burlington, VT. The staff is welcoming and the dishes are well done, I especially I love their Chicken Tikka Massala, the sauce is an explosion of Indian herbs and tasteful flavors in your mouth! And the chicken is well cooked, it comes with delicious rice and nam bread, which I suggest you ask for an extra serving to enjoy better your meal as the nam with the sauce is super scrumptious! Their curry chicken is also well done and with the right spices. Overall the owners Raj and Kabi gave us a great service, checking on us and made sure we were satisfied with their food.
