Yesterday I returned to Lamaris for the first time since March 2020, just before the pandemic took off in earnest. Having a facial is my FAVORITE way to pamper myself. I always feel refreshed after, my skin looks great and feels freaking amazing, and Laura is fantastic at her job. Prices here are really reasonable. Mostly it's street parking, though there's one space in front and I think a few spaces in back--but I've been going here well over a decade and have only parked in back once since parking is pretty easy. Sadly this place was a huge disappointment. Very unprofessional. My cousin booked 2 facials for 6pm yesterday and spoke with the owner when she set them up. They had a great conversation about the service and she mentioned this was a birthday gift. We were really looking forward to getting our facials. We walked into the salon at 5:50 (10 min early). We we greeted by the hair stylist who asked us what our services were for and told us that the ladies (cannot remember their name) would be with us shortly. 30 min later no one came out. We asked the stylist about the facials and she went to back and checked and came back and said someone will be with us shortly. We waited a few min and left. Poor customer service. We received the reminder text for our appointment at 6, yet no one came out. My cousin and I discussed doing a mini facial because we had plans at 715, however we decided against it. Who wants to settle for a mini facial and feel stressed out while getting the facial because they were so late. Super unprofessional. Really wanted to give this place a chance because it's local, had great reviews and the owner talked the service and place up. Very disappointed, birthday facials ruined! read more

My wife purchased a Groupon for a chemical peel about a month ago. She has called five times and left messages to make an appointment. She received a call back one time, of which she unfortunately missed. I'm not sure if there is a number that we are missing to contact someone live, but it shouldn't be this hard to make an appointment. It's too bad because she had read good reviews about their services and wanted to try them for awhile now. Short staffed or not, this is not good customer service. I bought a Groupon for two no chip manicures. The person who did my nails was nice, but she kept making offhand insults about the color I chose. I would be fine if she said it once, but literally every 5 minutes she said how the color was not her style, and it's too nice out to pick a color this dark. Okay, I am the client and you're not the one getting your nails done. I felt awkward most of the time and wanted to leave as soon as possible. Luckily, it was the shortest and most half-assed manicure I have ever gotten. She didn't even soak my nail, or cut any hang nails. She just used a cuticle pusher to push my cuticles to the desired shape but it hurt so bad and my nails started bleeding. The groupon said there'd be "essential oils" and a hand massage but there was none of that. So, I guess it was a good thing my manicure was short so I didn't have to stay there one more minute. I still have one more left on my groupon, but I doubt I'll ever use it. Seriously, stay away. read more

I bought a Groupon for this spa for a Brazilian Wax. I had previously been going to a spa out in the suburbs and I wasnt too impressed but i just didnt know where else to go. I would always leave with stray hairs and in pain. I figured for $25 groupon I would give this spa a try. LAURA IS AMAZING! I swear I will never go to another spa for a wax again. She also did my eyebrows and told me not to pluck them bc shes going to shape them for me & fix them. Laura makes you feel 100% comfortable while remaining professinal at the same time. She is also the owner. I will recommend to her everyone and anyone who needs a Brazilian wax or any waxing service for that matter. She gives you disposable panties so you dont get any wax on yours, plays soothing music, wears gloves, and never double dips her wax stick! she also uses hard wax which is much easier on the skin! Especially for people who have sensitive skin. I even think the hard wax brazilian lasts longer than the regular wax brazilian that most spas use. All in all this salon and spa is the best i have found for Brazilian waxing and ill never go anywhere else. read more

Same as some of the other folks that posted, I got a deal for this salon on Groupon. I would have given this place 2** but I was extremely happy with the facial that I received from Diana. She was really sweet and very knowledgeable with some outstanding skin care regimen recommendations. The reason why I would have subtracted a star would be because I went in with my mom who had the same GrouponNow deal. The deal was for a facial and brow waxing. I went first and my mom had to wait since Diana was the only one there doing facials. When I was done with my facial, I asked Diana who would be doing my brows. She then sent me to a young lady that threaded them. The deal was for waxing, but threading was better for me, so no complaints. Afterwards, I was asked about form of payment for the brows. I had to remind them that it was included. Then young threading lady left the shop. I sat to wait for my mom. Once she was done, I once again had to ask who was going to do her brows. Diana looked around (I'm guessing for the lady that left), then said she would do my moms brows. I'm not sure if this was part of Diana's job description, but she handled the situation nicely. The jist of this is: I would return, mostly to give Diana my business because she was so personable. Otherwise, I was a bit put off by the seemingly uniformed rest of the staff. BUT, to be fair, it was a GrouponNow deal which is a deal only available for a minimal amount of hours on the day it's offered, so maybe all of the staff hadn't known about it. read more

Yesterday, I scheduled at Lamaris with my favorite stylist for both a cut and full highlights. I am in love with my hair!!!! Laura H. is AMAZING!!! With Laura all of your hair worries will disappear. Yes, really. I have fine, thin blonde hair which is very technically difficult to cut and style properly. She does such a wonderful job I wouldn't dream of seeing anyone else. I asked for bangs and that alone is a challenge. I love them. I also had full highlights performed. They are gorgeous! I am so happy. I even received a compliment from a hair colorist friend today. I have seen Laura H. 3 times for cut & style and 4 times for full or partial highlights. Every time I have seen Laura I have asked for minor adjustments in the color or cut: low lights and highlights, blonder around the face, or blonder everywhere. She knows exactly what I am thinking and nails it every time. Additionally, they always grow out perfectly while looking very natural. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've been here once last month, just before they moved to the new and better place... and 3 times this month. I got a haircut and highlights from Joanne. I really love my hair! I originally wanted to dye my hair light brown. My natural hair color is black. Joanne suggested getting caramel highlights instead, to make it not such a drastic change. I am so thankful and happy that I followed her advice. I am truly satisfied! Plus I got a free shine application with my highlights as part of their Moving Special. Perfect score to Lamaris Salon. Yay! I also like their Waxing Service. I got my brow wax from Laura 2 times already. The first time I came in, she told me not to pluck my brows for 3 weeks. She wanted them to fill in and grow a little bit, so she can better shape it next time. I tried to shape my brows a month ago and it was not nice. Hahaha! I guess I have to leave it to the professionals. I originally asked if I should come back every 2 weeks, but instead she said to wait for 3 weeks. I was impressed that she just did not say yes, so I can come back more often and therefore spend more money. I felt that she really cares for what is best for clients. Kudos to Laura! She is very good and very gentle. She uses wax for sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin and did not have any reaction to the wax. My brows were beautifully shaped and more even!!! Again, perfect score to Lamaris Salon. Last but not the least, manicure and pedicure. I had a no chip manicure 2 weeks ago and it is still intact and nice up to the present. It is supposed to last for 3 weeks. My pedicure is still nice, no problems at all. My nail lady, Linda is very nice and chatty. She just makes me feel comfortable and relaxed there. They now have a new massage chair! It's pretty cool! It massages your back, even your bottom! Hahaha! It feels kinda weird at first. Anyways, going back to my nails review, Linda was very knowledgeable about the process and was able to explain to me how the no chip manicure works. I gouged my index finger nail right after I was done. I was trying to get my keys out of my pocket. She had to soak it first while wrapping my finger in an Aluminum foil, then she had to redo the whole process for one nail again. I was extra careful after that, and now I'm still happy about my mani. I asked if they are going to offer massage in the future. They said that they are currently working on it. Right now, they have acupuncture and cupping. I will wait for the massage service and let you guys know how it is. I also want to add that the first time I came here, I used a Yelp deal. They honored it and even gave me a $5 discount if I come back to their new salon after they move. So, I luckily got a free hair shine and 5 dollars off! Overall, I give Lamaris Salon a 5 out of 5! I found a living social voucher for a Brazilian wax and decided to try it because I am going to Mexico. I looked at all the reviews about Laura and they are all 100 percent correct! From the moment I walked into the salon everyone was so friendly and welcoming and when Laura was doing the Brazilian wax I felt more comfortable than I do when I go to the gynecologist! Everyone told me how uncomfortable Brazilians are and painful and this was not the case here. I would definitely recommend coming here for a Brazilian and using Laura! I will be back. read more

Ive been coming to Lamaris for the past year or so. The salon is a little hidden, and I like that there is parking in the back. Ive been having Maggie cut and color my hair for several years and followed her here from another salon. She is fun to talk to and has great energy. She does a wonderful job with my cut and color, and I always trust her opinoin. She really knows how to get my hair to be that perfect blonde shade. I know my hair is in good hands with Maggie. I have also started seeing Joann K for my eyebrow waxes. My eyes are beyond sensitive, and usually get red and water so much I look like I am crying. None of that happens when Joann waxes my eyebrows. Talk about a miracle worker! She allows me to sit up a little more, and the waxing is practically painless. My first visit to Lamaris Salon, and the experience was great! I have had my hair done by Rita previously and have loved the results, so in tracking her down at this new salon I'm thrilled that she is as good as I remember! I have strangely curly hair - and of course always want it straight (without chemicals). Rita did a great job of giving me a bouncy, modern haircut and the best blow-out ever!! I'm ready for one of those hair commercials!! I will definitely have Rita do my blow-outs and cuts regularly and will be trying color and keratin next!! CAN'T WAIT!! Also, I've had my eyebrows waxed forever and today had them threaded for the first time. Rita did a great job! I bought a groupon for 3 organic airbrush tans because I was getting married in Mexico and wanted to have some color before I got there. I am very pale and don't usually tan well, usually just burn. I have tried other spray tans before, the ones in the booth but those only make you ORANGE and uneven. I tried the first tan for my bachelorette party and the color was gorgeous, a nice bronzed glow that developed in about 4 hours. The great thing about this is since it is applied by hand they can customize the tan a little bit. For example, with my first tan my arms were not as dark as my legs so on my next visit she applied two coats to my legs. Also the tan lasted, no joke, more than a week. My three tans are up but I will definitely be coming back here all summer long. P.S. they have a special on Tues and Weds for $25 tans. Laura was so professional and sweet. It can be intimidating to be partially or fully nude and she makes you feel comfortable. Also, I bought some lotion to extend the tan and some body wash which was nice. The appointments are either limited or fill up fast so I suggest calling a few days or more in advance to schedule. read more

I purchased a groupon for a haircut, but was met with disaster at this salon. On booking my appointment was told the stylist was unavailable for the Groupon time slot, but after a long phone call another stylist stepped in to accept the Groupon. They did not tell me when booking my appt I had to come in at a different time for the new stylist so I was prepared to go in at the appointment time I had already scheduled. Thus, due to their scheduling errors I was left without a stylist and wasted $10 of my groupon bucks that I could have used for a different salon. They offered to accept my groupon another day, but I only needed their services for a special event I was attending, so just took my loss and now going to a different salon. Also, another thing that really grinds my gears about this salon was that the receptionist was really persistent that she had the right time. They scheduled me at a time I was at work, and it makes no sense for me to book an important appointment when I know I wouldn't be there. read more

DO NOT GET A WAX HERE! I had a groupon for a waxing. At first I was really impressed, because my appointment was for 10AM, however the woman called me from her cellphone and reschedule my appointment to 10:30 due to a family emergency. That was a good first impression. Then, I called the salon just to double check 10:30 was correct and the receptionist questioned me saying " are you sure she said 10:30?," which is just rude to question the customer. Then I go to my appointment at 10:30, and I didn't walk out until 11:15. The waxing was complete torture. I have been getting brazilian waxes for about three years now, and this was the worst experience I have ever had. They use a different wax, that they literally peal the wax off your body, and it is not easy, it turns into picking at your skin and then ripping off pieces of wax. When it was finished she said she would wipe my skin to clean it, turns out it made it worse! When I got home, I immediately had to shower, because pieces of wax, and paper towel were stuck to me from when she "cleaned the area." Then I noticed after the 45 minute waxing, several areas were even missed. I am glad I used the groupon for only 25$ dollars, if it was anymore I would call back and ask for my money back. read more

She tried the Brazilian here and had a very similar experience with it being much more painful than usual and having to pick off pieces of wax later at home. Laura who does the Brazilian waxes is nothing less then amazing. I started going here off because of a deal she had with pretty city in October for breast cancer awareness ( a wax for $31) and have been going back for about 3 years. I recommend her to anyone and everyone ! She keeps the room warm, has disposable underwear so you don't feel too exposed, plays relaxing music (ie rain forest, harps playing, wind chimes), wears gloves, uses delicate wax (with a different stick each dip into the wax), and talks the entire time. She makes me feel like an old friend, she remembers everyone I recommend and we catch up on work, school, and family. read more
