A special thank you to Allen, my project manager. He was professional, responsible, and always available to answer questions and keep me updated throughout the project. Overall rating is a 4.5 Project Scope: Full downstairs…read moreremodel. Kitchen, bath, media niche, fireplace, paint and flooring. Vendors: Artistic Kitchen (Mike Ryan), HomeWise (Janelle), Bedrosians (Jenny), Rubenstein Supply Wise team: The 3 A's: Aaron, Alex and Allen. Israel was our day to day supervisor. Estimated Time: 3.5-4.5 months. Wise met this timeline. Positives: Demo: Quick and efficient. They had the place cleared out in 2 days. Prior to demo, their team helped us move our large pieces of furniture into our storage pod. I consider this above and beyond helpful. Flexible: As they started the prep for electrical and plumbing, we made changes and add-on's. For any unforeseen issues, they were responsive. Media niche: The team built out the area exactly to my husband's design. The owner dropped by to view the project and gave us an idea on how to build out the space for our TV mount. We are happy with the result. Fire place: The stone ledger was installed by Oliver per the design. The final product is gorgeous. Kudos to Oliver! Bathroom: Although small, the demo process was challenging as we have a concrete subfloor. It felt like they were grinding for days to prep for the shower. Once we selected our tile, their installer (Jesus) helped us with the layout and it came out beautifully. Kitchen: The prep work for the cabinet install, plumbing and electrical was completed in a timely manner. Wise's cabinet installer, David guided the team through the install process. David is meticulous and skillful at his craft. Allen: This was my first large remodel project and I wanted to have a designer to help guide me through the process. Allen came out to meet us and learn about our style choices and helped us with the challenging process of picking a lot of materials. He kept a spreadsheet which we could update ourselves. I had inspiration photos and he collaborated with us to bring it all together. Allen's design drawings gave us true picture of the final product. So much so that we ended up changing our bathroom tile because we didn't like how it looked in the drawings. Allen was patient, helpful, responsive and has a keen eye for design. Areas for Improvement: Communication, Attention to detail, Slowing down. These things came up throughout the project and mostly corrected to our satisfaction. I will list a couple of examples: Flooring installation: We were considering having our floor vendor do the installation but the savings in our Wise bid was not that much and Aaron assured us that his team was experienced with installing engineered hardwood. We asked the team to pick the planks with the least blemishes and lay them in the open areas while the others could be installed under the cabinets or closets. I don't know if there was a language barrier during communication but my husband ended closely watching the team and picking out the planks himself. This took a fair amount of his time and shouldn't have. We also noticed in the front entryway that some of the planks squeaked and flexed. We could not accept this because it was in a high traffic area. The solution they came up with was to drill small holes and inject enough glue so that the planks would not flex. We were nervous about this but figured it would be better than tearing up a portion of the floor and reinstall them. Thankfully, it worked and there is only a tiny hole which is not noticeable. The ovens needed to be wired for 240V but was wired to 120V. This was clear in the oven's instruction manual. It was corrected. We purchased very expensive outlets for our kitchen island and requested that they be installed flush to the panels. My husband even sent a PDF with instructions in WhatsApp to be communicated to the team. Either it never made it to the team, or they didn't follow instructions. We couldn't redo them because the damage to the panels was not acceptable to us. A couple of cabinet doors had the wrong size hole drilled for the handles. I did map out each door with specific handle size. They corrected this at no cost to us. I created a final TODO/correction list after final inspection and they completed everything to our satisfaction. Overall I am excited with the final results, especially with my kitchen. The Wise team were cooperative, courteous and professional. See my before/after pics.

The work was excellent, but what really impressed me was the follow-up. A year later, Payman sent his crew back just to handle the little adjustments that come with a house settling. Even years later, he's still helpful whenever I need to get in touch with one of his subcontractors for maintenance. Because of that trust, I hired him again last year for a major remodel of my vacation home, and he didn't disappoint me as always. Payman is easily the most responsive contractor I've worked with, he gets back to every email within 24 hours, no matter how complex the issue is. His project management is top-tier. The crew is respectful and polite, and they actually finished the job ahead of schedule. It's rare to find a contractor who is this efficient and actually stands by their work long-term. Highly recommended.

I was working with a different agent previously and it was not a good relationship, but switched over to have Nicole assist me after recommendations from people at work. Nicole was super patient and took me around to view multiple listings on our first appointment. She was super knowledgeable about the area having more than 20 years of experience. She also walked me through all that I needed to know as a first time buyer, and quickly built trust and made me feel comfortable with her representing me. At every step of the process, she personally walked me through it, explaining to me what all the documents in the housing disclosure package were for, and what I should be looking out for. We started working with Nicole over two years ago as a referral from a close friend who spoke very highly of her. As first time home buyers, my husband and I were basically clueless and had no idea just how complex the Bay Area real estate market is. Nicole helped us navigate these waters with ease, and educated us about the complexities of disclosure packets and purchase contracts well in advance so that when the time finally came, we'd be familiar with such detailed documents. Pre-covid, Nicole spent an entire Saturday driving us to houses in various neighborhoods so that we could see what different cities offered and to help us narrow down our home search based on what we saw. We also attended several open houses together and she always kept an eye out for homes that fit our criteria and attended broker tours on our behalf. We also continued working with Nicole throughout the pandemic and experienced first hand how the original interaction model had to change. Without any open houses, I felt like Nicole had to pour even more time into our search because covid policies required individual appointments to view each home. Nicole was patient with us as we viewed what seemed like 20+ homes during a nine month period. She is respectful of your opinions, but will also share her professional opinion when requested. We ultimately found a home and throughout the entire closing process, not only did Nicole help us, but so did her team. We were in the best of hands and there weren't any hiccups. Together, this team guided us every step of the way with constant communication. DocuSign was used to electronically sign all documents and keys were left in a lockbox when the home was officially ours! In fact, with their help, we were able to close a week earlier than expected! As you can tell, we obviously spent a lot of time with Nicole (she was stuck with us for two years!) and we enjoyed every minute of it. She's great to be around and extremely insightful. Finally, I want to share a story from when my husband and I first started going to open houses a few years ago. When we told other agents who our realtors were (we just would say "carol and Nicole") and they *always* knew who we were talking about. Nicole and Carol have created a reputation that is built upon trust, professionalism and extensive market-specific knowledge.

Every single person who has walked in says, "WOW! It's beautiful! It's incredible what you guys have done!" We have friends & professionals who have built/renovated many houses all exclaim what a high-end luxe job this was! We could not have done this without Greenberg. In particular, we worked with the wonderful Ohad Sherion throughout the process who managed all the subs, city departments involved, neighbors, vendors, etc. Our attention was elsewhere as we were very busy with our work, caring for our elders, so it was invaluable that Ohad kept us up-to-date throughout the process. Ohad was able to make our wishes come true, including bathrooms with custom tiles that were no longer available--so he found us an artisan who recreated them by hand. To make the small space look and feel spacious, we went with an open concept which left few walls to hang art. From the beginning, we worked with Ohad to create a design to showcase our art collection. Ohad is persistent and works to get projects not only functional but beautiful. For example, we have a unique front door which needed to be tweaked and he patiently worked with subs to make it happen. My husband was thrilled that we ended up with a house with superb insulation (including sound), up-to-date plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems. He feels great about the new roof and solar panels. But I am in love with the amazing personal details that make this place a home (finally). We are so grateful to Ohad. That is the short version of this review: we went through an entire project with Maor, and when it came time to do something considerably more ambitious, we did not seriously look elsewhere. What made us choose him the first time: He is methodical. He listened to our ideas and actually brought them to life, rather than steering us toward whatever was simplest for him to build. He also gave us his own opinions when he had them -- clearly, and without pressure -- so that we could make the decisions ourselves. That balance between listening and advising is rarer than it should be. His quote was itemized in detail. We knew exactly what we were paying for, and there were no surprises and no hidden costs over the course of the project. Anyone who has renovated a home knows how unusual that sentence is. The timeline was laid out with the same care, and they finished on time. If you are weighing builders for a serious project in the South Bay, on the Peninsula, or in the East Bay, talk to Maor.

And so, when I happened upon an ad for Avi's Silicon Valley Home Buyer Seminar, it piqued my interest. All in all, I found it informative, but not as practical as I had hoped. The first section of the seminar began with Avi teaching us how to be an informed buyer - how to leverage different sources to evaluate market trends from a local and national level. Avi then transitioned to using real numbers to work through explanations about tax laws, buyer leverage, and equity. He also made remarks on capital gain, evaluating buying versus renting, and ROI of different investments. I found these sections helpful, but I definitely could have used a sheet in the folder to define some terms, equations, and acronyms Avi was using. After a break, we were supposed to dive into understanding the current state of the Silicon Valley economy and the how (actual home buying process). Unfortunately, the seminar kind of derailed on the first point spending over two hours talking about the state of Silicon Valley, speculation in investing, and the importance of tech/techies to the market. This is where some facilitation was really needed to have people maybe consult with Avi offline because by the time we got to the "how", we were more than an hour over on time and we only got a super condensed, fast forwarded guide on the mortgage/loan process (~10 minutes). Plus, not being a techie made me feel like an outcast somewhat but I came to a Silicon Valley based seminar so maybe that was expected.... I was definitely hoping for a more end to end roadmap (i.e: calculating how much home you can buy, what to expect in the buying process, home inspections, escrow, etc). All in all, I'd recommend the seminar, but not for someone as green as I was. If there was a more concentrated/focused seminar on first time home buying, I'd definitely welcome a second session.

They were able to make a normally very stressful process almost stress-free, so much so that all I had to do was say "yes or no" when it came to key decisions. The Construction & More team took lead in the painful parts of dealing with permitting, PG&E, and subcontractors. They also got us in contact with their preferred vendors to help us with discounts on appliances, finishes and other materials we needed to purchase out of pocket. Overall, I found the Construction & More team extremely professional, transparent, organized, communicative and punctual when it came to the end-to-end process. They truly helped guide us through the process so we didn't have any surprises and helped us navigate any hiccups that came up. Normally, construction companies get a bad rap of being dishonest and trying to add in hidden fees and such, but Construction & More is a truly forthcoming and hardworking group of contractors who have your best interest at heart when it comes to your project no matter how big or small. For the process itself, we began with a consultation at our home to walk through the work we wanted the Construction & More team to do. For us, it was a full renovation which included removing a kitchen wall to create an open concept kitchen & living room, adding a mud room, expanding the master bedroom, moving the front and garage doors, as well as moving the ceilings to create a more open space. After the consultation was completed, we met with Avi & Joseph at their office to discuss an estimate and timeline for the work we needed done about (6-months time, pending no delays). Avi & Joseph respected our budget and were upfront and honest of how to stay within the budget and what were non-negotiables that we needed to get done. They really helped us understand what work was critical and what were nice to have to make our living space better. Once we agreed on the work, they promptly sent over a contract for signature, created a whatsapp group for real time communication, and next steps. Overall this initial process took about a week after negotiations and contract reviews. Once construction began, the team coordinated all the work. They made sure that all moving parts were well executed while setting a realistic timeline for the work to be done. All the subcontractors and tradesmen were effectively scheduled, where there wasn't a single day where there was no work being done. I felt that the team ensured that the construction was moving swiftly and the crew was respectful of our space. The crew made sure that our home was properly locked up and cleaned up after each day's work. Additionally, all the detailed finishing work was measured and completed with precision, where all the tiles placed were measured with a laser. As a bonus, the crew was also super respectful to our neighbors which is an extra plus! If you're considering a renovation of any size, but especially a full home renovation, I could not rave more about Construction & More. Their expertise, professionalism, thoroughness and transparency really sets them apart from the competition. I'm extremely grateful and happy with the outcome of our renovation! Good work guys!!
