Their team came at around 7:30 and almost finished by sundown at 6:30 that night. I have a very large roof with a lot of intricate details so there was at least 16-20 hours to do this I thought. My roof was a bit of a pain to do work on, ~25 squares, a fairly steep pitch (as it's a home from the 1800s), and the previous roof was in complete disrepair as the previous owner just kept adding layer upon layer of shingle to repair the old roof. The roof deck underneath was original as well from the 1800s and was fairly rotted (this added an unknown cost at the end of the work, but it wasn't too bad, and still kept the amount under half of the other companies we were looking at). His team worked from 7 to about 5-6PM (during the late winter) and had the roof done in about a day and a half. So far so good with the roof work. Would definitely work with Marcos and MJT Home Improvement again.

Not only were the costs higher, but the scope only covered about 75% of what was in the original proposal. They seriously managed to propose a project for $400k that would have left KNOB AND TUBE WIRING IN MY CHILDREN'S BEDROOMS! On top of that the owner was extremely unpleasant to work with and was consistently belligerent and wasted our time. She wouldn't even give us the architectural drawings we had paid for when we wouldn't sign the construction agreement. I have waited all this time to post this review because I wanted to have a fair comparison against a different contractor. I'm happy to say we recently completed the project with a different company, and for under $500k we got completely new electric, HVAC, a new kitchen and two new bathrooms. And this was during and after the pandemic when prices were sky rocketing. If you have money to burn I'd highly recommend Charlie Allen, but otherwise if stay far away from them.
