He told me a water heater required 240 volts when it was a 120. That is a fundamental mistake somebody would not make who is an electrician. He told me to re-wire for a 50 amp circuit. The cost of doing that would probably be $4,000-5,000 on the low end if there was access. It made no sense. Not only did the prior water heater not require it (I don't know if he knew we could a warranty replacement) but there is literally no way to do it given the construction. I was forced to pay $75 for this assessment. I called the water heater manufacturer and told them the product was 240 and required all this power why did they send it. They were clear it is 120 and does not require all that power. I called twice to try to get an answer from this company. Nobody called me back. This service could be a scam. This is like a doctor mistaking a heart for for a kidney. The manual was taped to the water heater. The technician claims he ran the calculations. He did not. He didn't even open the manual. I also found out the person sent did not work for the company I called. This wasted my time and my money.

I asked her if this is Ojai electric, she thought about it and said yes what is your problem? I describe my problem to her and ask her what is the hourly rate. She said that they do not go by hourly rates, they bill by the job. I ask her how much would this job be. She says that a service advisor would have to come out and take a look at my problem. The cost of the evaluation would be deducted from the work order. Total scam. I asked her for the name of the electrician, she said that one would be assigned. I ask her where they were located, she said we are local business. I ask her local to what? She says we are local. Which city? She said we service all cities in LA. This is nothing more than referral service and a this is nothing more than a referral service and a total scam. Hire an honest local electrician.
