This small park and even smaller "beach" offers beautiful views of Lake Tahoe and free access and…read moreparking. It has a children's playground area and a clean men's and women's restroom building. I saw a good 3 on 3 volleyball game on the sand court and people out walking their dogs. There are steps that go down to the water and I noticed one man swimming out in the lake about 150 yards from the shore in that beautiful blue water. During this time about 6 kayakers came by paddling their hearts away. There is an ample sized grassy area with a few picnic tables and benches for sitting and relaxing. I observed a walking trail boardwalk along the shore and finally there is a small sand beach about 10 yards wide. This park is closed at night for security reasons along with the bathrooms. Regan Park is a very nice place to visit and use the magical powers of Lake Tahoe to slow down and just relax.

It is not very well though out as…read morethe weight room is very small, the pool is nice but only 6 lanes, not adequate for swim meets and the lighting is too bright, The cost of admission has tripled $8 to $10 compared to the old pool, with no local or senior rate. The locker rooms are nice to look at but not functional, there is one small one person bench some lockers and no hooks at the 3 showers for towels or to hang your close on, so you will probably be putting them in the floor, I can't imagine how more than 3-4 people will take showers and dress at a time let alone a large group. The lobby is way too big if you just want to sit around, but that's not what we are there for. I will probably drive down to The Carson Valley Swim Center most of the time.

We did utilize the buses to go shopping and dinning as so easy to jump on and off as needed. The most important aspect was on Thanksgiving Day we encountered Nikki bus driver who was so uplifting in spirit as we witnessed her giving sandwiches to those who where homeless or down on there luck.

We took the boys both 12 yrs with their scooters and they had so much fun we had to drag them away. This is a great skatepark for all levels! If your like me you want to see the kids while not freezing or melting so parking is close with full view of the park. There are also benches available and a grass park nearby as well as restaurants, coffee shops, fast food, gas/quickstop. *f your looking for a great skate shop to get you started, to update your current choice of wheels or learn some new tricks, try out The Wheelhouse in Carson City. They have everything you need from scooters, skateboards, bikes, cool apparel, nutrition bars/drinks, and a huge selection of accessories, including wheels, bars grips, cool deck tape and a big selection of stickers, etc. I fell in love with the artsy side if the shop and great customer service. They have a great mentoring program that kids with a little experience can get involved in and help out with younger kids or beginners in the sport. Its a great way to teach kids how to pay it forward and they might learn some tips along the way. They have built an indoor training area in the back part of the shop including a small gym area. They really encourage healthy living and getting active!
