On the day of the event the lovely Oak Room was the perfect setting for our party, the buffet that was set out for us was beyond delicious, and throughout the day waitstaff were whisking seamlessly about making sure plates were cleared, drinks were poured and we wanted for nothing. Among the outstanding menu items: a smoked salmon bagel bar that was fantastic (we're from Maine and very picky about our seafood!) I was so frazzled by then, I couldn't think straight and was planning on sleeping in my car, hoping I wouldn't get woken by the cops or a snow plow. But the wonderful woman who had just gotten off duty at the front desk heard my story, she quickly arranged for me to check in at the Inn. The room was nicely appointed and cozy and I was infinitely grateful to be snuggled in a very comfortable bed for the next 18 hours of howling winds and so much snow... The entire staff looked out for me as I waited out the storm and worked at calming my nerves enough to get back on the road. I had dinner the next day from the restaurant down stairs: a delicious burger the host brought to my room. The next day the same lady who saved me from the gas station floor leant me her own snow brush (which was a beaut!) so I could get back on the road, much calmer and happier than when I had got off. I've seen the place when we tried to come in for lunch but it was busy so we went elsewhere but I had only thought it was a restaurant. In fact it is a small inn and restaurant in the same building. I don't know if the building has been built new and made look like the surrounding town but the building looks like it belongs to the town and the surrounding area but from the looks of things the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building have been completely rebuilt and made entirely anew. The room I stayed at is spacious and while it has no frills like luxury hotels might it is clean has nice amenities and very quiet, although I don't know if it is the way that the building is done or just the nice serenity of the surrounding area but it is certainly a welcome situation. If you are in the area I would highly recommend staying there though I can't quite get over the out of hours key distribution in an envelope next to the front desk. I would have made it a text message but that's just me....

We are a repeat visitors to the Edgewood Inn. This last stay was a different experience. We found…read moreour preferred room unclean: ring in toilet, sink was unclean and it did not drain well. Faucet is wobbly, and it needs to be secured to counter. They provide a half dollar size soap at the sink...nothing at the shower. We were staying two nights. The dispenser in the tub area only had conditioner...no soap. One small bottle of shampoo for two for two days. Mold on the shower curtain and in the corner at the top of the tub/wall. I could smell the shower curtain walking into the bathroom! When we pulled the covers back on the bed there was a green thread. Not ours! Were the sheets changed after the previous lodger? Updated rooms look nice, but not enough to entice us back. We have cxld our September reservation for two nights and will lodge elsewhere. We left feedback for the Inn and clearly the response said management would be notified; however, no one has picked up the phone to have a chat! Sad business ethos! I should have taken photos! First time using and posting on Yelp.

We drove up to listen to "The Jovial Crew" Saturday. This group performs Shanty, folklore rich songs of the sea, pub and more. Amazing vocals from the guys and a chance to join in to sing along. This was a BYOB event, a traditional Grog mix was provided by the Inn Keepers (non alcoholic) to which you could add the "Spirit"that you brought with you. House made Desserts were included with admission. They even had some themed treats, Hardtack and Joe Froggers. If you were staying at the Follansbee Inn, admission for the concert was included. For locals, tickets were available at the door. But, stay at the Inn for an overnight, their Breakfasts are included and amazingly delicious.

The wireless reception is poor, and it is not an ideal place to stay if you require Internet for work/personal reasons.
