The bed is stiff, but then again, I do like soft surfaces more. However, it's not impossible to sleep on because I am more adjusting towards different surfaces. I could sleep on the floor and I'd still be comfortable. Lol In the future, change your pillows. I know it may be a cheaper option or maybe it's "proven" to work better than cotton or feathered, but put some money into more expensive pillows. Food is decent, staff is nice. 7/10-Would go here again if the pillows were better...or I could always bring my own, too.

Smoke Detector in main bedroom had duct tape holding it together. If you needed extra toilet paper you had to go to desk, which seemed everyone did. Need clean towels, you go to front desk. Would not recommend this hotel.

Continuing to Cayla the day front desk, who is somewhat better and works hard but does not have experience knowledge or support from her seniors. Carrie/Kerry and her GM Michelle are simply lacking the professionalism and respect to even begin to understand the very nature of 4* customer svc let alone the very basics of customer satisfaction. They are borderline discriminatory and at the outset rude, interrupt customers for the most basic requests, repeatedly making excuses, and simply cannot support the level of svc this property should have. We stayed three times to be sure it was consistently bad, under two different booking names. The allure of the high quality restaurant/bar and covered barking let us coming back. But it won't again. We have had enough of the AI robot voice calling us "sugar" and "honey" and offering us walking directions to a "good cup of hot chocolate" instead of just telling us the breakfast hours - which by the way is cooked by a robotic (I'm not joking, com's see for yourself) automated egg cooking machine - which does a decent job! - when it works and doesn't include broken shells. The express machine is good. The evening repackaged Market Basket linzer and black/white cookies are avg. But when you ask three times and make four phone calls just to get a simple work surface desk so you can do emails at night and keep up with work obligations - only to be told that "govt rate rooms only get certain rooms" after being promised a desk - enough is enough. We paid $600, and spent another $500 in the restaurant one week, but apparently they had more important customers. And we were dumb enough to come back the next week thinking it must have been a a busy week. But nope, they just don't care, doesn't matter - they were 40% booked according to the front desk lady - and you get what you get, no desk or king bed available - even though the website showed they were. Sorry folks - this property must have a secret code word - I hope AAA knows they wasted a rating here. Much better properties in NH that better represent our NH hospitality industry. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE.

We were greeted by a nice staff member who had to tell me we were on the 3rd floor and the elevator was broken. Not what I expected but ok. This, in my opinion, should have been told to me upon reservation. We decided to stay at the hotel to have a nice dinner and start our rare vacation off right. only to find out the restaurant was closed. On a Saturday night. When I casually asked at the desk how long the elevator had been broken, the embarrassed staff member told me it had been broken for over two months. On the day of the event the lovely Oak Room was the perfect setting for our party, the buffet that was set out for us was beyond delicious, and throughout the day waitstaff were whisking seamlessly about making sure plates were cleared, drinks were poured and we wanted for nothing. Among the outstanding menu items: a smoked salmon bagel bar that was fantastic (we're from Maine and very picky about our seafood!) Let me tell you a story about how the angels of the New London Inn scraped me up off the floor of…read morethe gas station minimart at 10pm after I spent the last hour trying to survive the last nor'easter. I was so frazzled by then, I couldn't think straight and was planning on sleeping in my car, hoping I wouldn't get woken by the cops or a snow plow. But the wonderful woman who had just gotten off duty at the front desk heard my story, she quickly arranged for me to check in at the Inn. The room was nicely appointed and cozy and I was infinitely grateful to be snuggled in a very comfortable bed for the next 18 hours of howling winds and so much snow... The entire staff looked out for me as I waited out the storm and worked at calming my nerves enough to get back on the road. I had dinner the next day from the restaurant down stairs: a delicious burger the host brought to my room. The next day the same lady who saved me from the gas station floor leant me her own snow brush (which was a beaut!) so I could get back on the road, much calmer and happier than when I had got off. The room was absolutely adorable and exactly what I would have hoped for in a quaint B&B up in the mountains! There was a giant whirlpool tub in the room and a little balcony right outside our door. We also had a new cheese board each day to snack on, and all was local products from NH! I've stayed at B&Bs before, but have never had an experience even remotely close to this one! AAAAmazing!!! This…read morewas our best B+B yet. Everything was so charming, clean, delicious and perfect. It was hard to leave. Linda and George run a sweet place there. My husband and I went skiing at Mt. Sunapee and searched for a nearby place to crash. There were not many options besides bigger motels, this option was perfect. The home has 3 guest bedrooms, all appointed with top of the line furnishings, 2 have mountain views. We had the apple blossom room. The bathroom had an awesome jetted tub that George showed us how to use. It was so high tech it even has a button to clean itself after. The bedroom was impeccable with a light carpet and no trace of wear on it. The bed was comfy and the room had a little deck and LCD TV. Outside is a big yard and little barn area with chickens. Linda left a plate of cheese and fruit out of us at our arrival. After skiing it was the perfect snack. I thought that was good then when we returned from dinner, she had put out a plate of home made cookies. We ate them by the fire with tea. She takes pride in the food she offers, even having a tea menu and serving in a individual pot. George saw we enjoyed the fire and brought in more logs to keep it going. Breakfast in the morning was incredibly filling and yummy. She started us with caramelized pears and Greek yogurt, then a plate of their own eggs, ham, corn-cakes and fruit. On the side we had a moist orange nut bread. While we were there, there was 1 other woman staying and we chatted her up. While we were getting ready to leave, Linda gave me a cookbook calendar with some of the recipes used in her breakfast. What a great way to leave and as a newlywed I'm already planning to make some recipes soon. I hope to come back in the summer too to explore and use the nearby lake. In the winter they have snowshoes to borrow. I highly recommend this place for an all seasons getaway.

Delicious prime rib buffet. All you can eat! If you forgot to pack your smokes, Christmas Island has you covered. Within the lower floor of the restaurant, where the restrooms are, there is a cigarette vending machine, which sells all brands at prices even cheaper than the local drugstore. There are the occasional inconveniences. The maid with the gogo boots barged in when I was just out of the shower. I had to throw up a towel in front of myself. The toilet in the room would not stop running all hours of the night. Also the bathroom door did not close, so when my vacation buddy had to use the toilet, there was a mildly unpleasant odor. No big deal. All and all highly recommended!
