We arrived around 7 PM after an easy 3 hour drive from the Cape. Patrick enthusiastically welcomed us. We had brought our dinner and wine and he set us up in a little table, providing wine glasses and offering us homemade cookies for dessert. These little touches meant a lot. The Inn from the outside, is quaint. Inside it's got little touches to create a warm welcoming vibe. This place is perfect for families with the game room and indoor pool. The common area had a game room and small library (old titles). The big screen TV was used most of the night of our stay by some cute kids. Our room was small and featured a double bed which was a bit tight for us. The bathroom was equipped with L'Occitaine apothecaries. Such a nice touch. The shower was hot and there were plenty of towels. One thing Patrick alerted us to was, the place is not quiet. He was right. Doors slammed and voices could be heard easily. You could hear water running, toilets flushing and more. With that said, we went with the flow and by bed time, it was silent. We are used to B & B's so expected this noise factor. Thankfully, our neighbors went to bed early. The room rate included homemade breakfast. They serve delicious gourmet tea and good coffee. There was homemade muffins (wish they were hot). I chose an omelette and my boyfriend chose the egg sandwich. Our server was really sweet and did everything to insure our experience was wonderful. The food was good and filling. We departed at 8 AM to hit the slopes for first tracks. The only negative was the smell of pot pourri that permeates the public areas. I am highly sensitive to smells and was uncomfortable. We had a very small ceremony outside. The grounds are breathtaking and the rooms extraordinary. The food was outstanding from a scrumptious breakfast to an outstanding barbecue for our guests. He was always present to lend a hand. The weekend was a huge success thanks to Patrick, his staff and the beauty of the New Hampshire Mountain Inn, most certainly a place to you must stay.

I am a member of RCI. I made reservations on 12/19 and flew in from SFO overnight to get here. When…read moreI got here I was told by Sue at the front desk that RCI had canceled my reservation. After calling RCI and telling them that my wife and I flew across the country to get here, they were unmoved. All I was told is that they sent me an email. Fortunately for my wife and I Sue contacted her manager and she told me that the manager would handle future conversations with RCI. Sue then told RCI the same thing and checked us in to a beautiful 2 bedroom unit for the week. Not only is this place lovely the people that work here are very empathetic.

The fire pit on our site was full of debris, we could not safely have a fire. The women at the site across from us sat at the picnic table and screamed at most of the cars, about the speed limit, as they drove by. There was a rotten wood thing covering what looked like a hole. That had rusty nails stick out of it. Since the camper was at the street and the truck was parked, we only had about 6 feet between the two. As we were sitting outside between them, the children at the site next to use were having a nerf gun fight using the space behind our camper, I was hit with one of the bullets. I went to the office to complain. Nothing was done. We had paid for 4 nights we pulled out after the first night it was so bad!

I strongly urge anyone considering Getaway Mountain Campground to stay far away. Our experience…read morehere was nothing short of appalling. From the moment we checked in, the owners were extremely rude and unwelcoming. After staying for the weekend, we extended our stay due to the campground's cleanliness, thinking it would be perfect for our family, including our three children with special needs and our service animals. Unfortunately, the owner's behavior quickly escalated. One day, the man running the office drove by on his golf cart and began yelling and swearing at me, accusing us of not picking up after our dogs. I explained that we always clean up after them, but he refused to listen. We decided to leave for the weekend to avoid further conflict, but when we returned, we found piles of dog poop deliberately placed near our motorhome. Things worsened when one of our children, who is nonverbal, picked up a pile of the mess. When we addressed the issue with the office, the owner's wife not only refused to acknowledge their behavior but also accused us of lying. The man's hostile behavior escalated again, yelling and swearing at us in front of our children. He threatened to have us thrown out by the police, which he followed through on. The officers who responded could see that this was a personal issue and were baffled as to why they had been called. We were told to leave, but not before being denied a refund for the remaining days we had already paid for. To make matters worse, we've since learned that the owners of Getaway Mountain Campground have been actively calling around to other campgrounds, slandering our name. They falsely claim we don't pick up after our dogs and that my husband chased the owner with a 2x4--an outright lie. The current campground we're staying at informed us of this and has stated that they've seen no issues with us or our pets. In fact, the surrounding campers have no complaints, and the campground owner is willing to write a statement about the situation, including notifying the authorities of this baseless harassment. The entire experience left us feeling targeted and mistreated. We have traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and have never encountered anything like this. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this campground at all costs. Verdict: AVOID Getaway Mountain Campground.
