My sister and I just spent 3 nights at the Naswa Resort. The staff were all amazing! Very friendly, welcoming and helpful!! the food at the Blue Bistro is incredible! I worked there in the 80's and it was a wonderful experience coming back. We stayed in one of the cabins and had a great view of the lake and the Naswa beach bar. Blue Bistro Restaurant My husband and I are celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary this month and we are recreating our honeymoon in New Hampshire. Although we didn't dine at Blue Bistro back then, they came highly recommended. They did not disappoint. We booked the reservation and told them that we were recreating our honeymoon and unbeknownst to us Trishana, our hostess had decorated our table with confetti hearts and "happy anniversary " confetti pieces. She also made a card for us wishing us a happy anniversary. I was in tears. From there our server, Shaven was amazing. He made sure that our experience was special and gave great recommendations for our meal. We want to take our hats off to our bartender Anna whom my husband said she made the best smoked old fashion cocktail he ever had, and that is a pretty good compliment because he enjoys a good old fashion drink. And the night was even more magical when their streaming playlist happen to play "Sailing" by Christopher Cross. That was the song that was playing when my husband told me he loved me over 40 years ago and again on this night. To end the evening one of the severs, Topal, came out with our desert that had sparklers on top and sang a love song to us. Her voice was so angelic. We had another great weekend this was our 2nd year coming in October. Rooms were very clean , beautiful new bathroom and great food. They had a fundraiser for the Vets with an awesome band. The staff are so polite and friendly. The whole weekend was a good time. read more

Food at the beach bar was good. One complaint. We ordered nachos with guac and salsa. All good, but the portions of guac and salsa were tiny relative to the plate of chips. 1/3 of the way through the chips we ran out of guac and salsa. Asked for more - $5 for an extra (small!) portion of guac and same $5 for an extra (small!) salsa. Either need bigger portions to match the enormous pile of chips or a more reasonable price on the extra sides. read more

Cabins have all that you need...beds are a bit soft but bathroom showers get nice and hot and good pressure Would suggest some upgrades to the beds harder mattresses.. Food: average food, nothing crazy. The food will definitely hold you over after drinking too much but I wouldn't go there specifically for the food. If you order apps, be sure to get the coconut shrimp! Drinks on the other hand were so good and so many options. I would definitely order a mudslide! Service: so fast! I was impressed. If you have children or a dog choose another hotel. If you wanna party & have a boat and don't care about logging this is the hotel for you. -Very rude front desk staff (besides the manager). -Not really dog friendly. Dogs are not allowed on the beach only allowed from room to dock -food is so-so but very overpriced (I highly recommend bringing your own food) -kitchen for cabin is TINY- bring own pots, pans, cutlery, dish soap etc. -rooms are very outdated but clean -no shades on any windows and most windows don't open but I put a blanket over each window which helped a little. -very loud music and drunk guests which will wake up children and you in the middle of the night (all night) -beach is rocky but clean Overall, if you want to party and need to dock your boat this is the hotel for you. Like most hotels, this is a mixed bag: Restaurants: A The Blue Bistro and Naz Bar are excellent. Staff: B General Manager Nelson goes out of his way to accommodate as does most of his staff. The only major downside was the guy who told us our room was on the first floor, only a few steps up from the beach (see Accessibility below). Beach: C While well-kept, the beach is long and thin and requires two steps, without handrails, to get in the water. At night, the spillover from the bar will be smoking below your balcony. Rooms: C While clean, the rooms seem old and could use an update. Beds: F The mattresses are so soft that your back will certainly feel it, and not in a good way. Accessibility: F I probably should have started with this. The place is built on a hill, so it's all about stairs. There are three flights from the office level to the beach. There are even two more steps to get into the water. Don't go if you have any mobility issues. read more

We used to go vacationing here few years back and after going back recently, I couldn't believe how outdated and smelly the place was. Light fixtures not working, cheap and smelly carpeting with a hint of funk on the bed and pillows. A big gap on the front door where you could almost see through, and a sliding glass door as heavy as the price they have the audacity to charge for the room. I would never go back there again. They don't bother to update anything while someone is fanning themselves somewhere while pocketing the money and probably not paying the housekeeping enough. read more

The room I had was seriously out dated, the floors were uneven. The kitchen was clean, but I wouldn't cook anything on it. The refrigerator was loud day and night. The wifi service was very spotty and slow. The balcony hadn't been cleaned in sometime, lots of creepy crawler all around. Overall, not worth what your paying for. After 5pm, you am an order from the menu from the more upscale dining (the salmon was excellent) but the burgers on the regular menu were tasty and cooked just right. To the Owner. I should bring this matter to your attention early but I waited until my trip ended. After a long drive from Bar Harbor to your location, I checked in on October 1, room 12. The atmosphere, the view, the room were very nice. My wife and I took a walk down to the beach, looked at the restaurant menu and wanted to have some drinks later at the beach before getting to Blue Bistro for dinner. When we sat down at the beach, we ordered some drinks, but it started getting cold so we talked to the manager to pay for our drinks and take our drinks to the restaurant. The hostess was nice to seat us without a reservation, but it went downhill from there. A waiter in a black uniform approached us and when he saw our drinks on the table, he was very rude and demanding. He questioned us, "What are these?" in a very loud tone. I advised they were drinks from the beach. He raised his voice again, "Where and what are these??" Then he yanked the wine glass off the table, almost knocking down my drink glass at the same time. Then he pull the wine bottle so hard that cause the menu dropdown the floor. A few minutes later, a female hostess walked to our table and told us we could not drink here. I asked, "Even if our drinks are from the beach bar? She raise her voice also -- "He (the waiter) told me no, you are not allow." My wife and I decided to walk out. The waiter started to stare, and provoked us with his hands on his hips, walking toward us on our way out to the door. We walked faster to try to get back to our room downstairs. When we walk out of the door and turned right to go downstairs to our room, the hostess was yelling and laughing at us from behind, and calling out loud to the manager that we were carrying our drinks around. A hostess stopped when she saw I pulled out our room key. Then she said, "Oh you stay here, you can come back for your table." No, my money will go somewhere else, not here." I replied. We walked back to our room in disbelief, scared that the waiter may come to our room looking for us. We double locked our doors, blocked it with the love seat...it was terrible feeling and regretted that we layover night at your resort. We want you to take this matter very seriously and retrain your people. Tell them that they have to serve all the customers equally. Well I said I wouldn't but I went back. It's so sad that it's consistently disappointing and a place I used to really love so much. We pulled up to the entrance and immediately they tried to sit us in the corner. We asked to move down to where there was action and the hostess seemed annoyed cause it was "packed" but begrudgingly sat us closer to the band. Great table. As always great location but that's where it goes down hill.... The food is just not good. It's verging on barely edible. The drinks are fantastic is you live on Governors island can afford almost 20$ a drink. But the worst thing is the music. Like I said we have gone here for years and years. There was always dancing and a great dj or band. The last few years it's like time stopped 50 years ago. It's not that it's bad. It's just bad if you are not 60 or older. We watched table upon table upon table of younger people leave. The vibe went from a beach party to a beach funeral. I think for sure this is it for us. The Naswa is a low-rent resort about a mile from Weirs Beach. This review is for its lakefront outdoor bar, the Nazbar. The Nazbar features a long bar that goes for a Caribbean feel, even to the extent of hiring Jamaican bartenders. The sound system plays reggae and ska as you sip your rum punch and gradually forget that you are beside a lake in New Hampshire. There are tables with umbrellas behind you, right down to and even into the water. The bar menu offers the usual fare. Inexpert boat renters offer unintentional entertainment as they attempt to dock their vessels. Perhaps in deference to the memory problems of older male customers, the waitresses helpfully wear the name of the resort on the back of their shorts. read more

Called the front desk to inquire about the boat rides they have advertised on their website "SS NASWA" and no one knew anything about it. Blue Bistro food and staff were excellent. However, I don't know why they have live entertainiment in such a small room. The singer sounded great, but was way too loud for a room that size and you couldn't hear what anyone else at your table was saying. First and last time...so dissappointed. read more

The staff was great but unfortunately I didn't enjoy my stay. I rented a cottage, it had a weird smell and felt dirty. The beds were very uncomfortable. I was excited to relax on the beach, but that didn't happen because the beach chairs were on such an incline I was sliding forward. I literally couldn't lounge on a beach chair, that's pretty sad. You should probably consider flattening the sand so that doesn't happen. The restaurant wasn't open for breakfast so we had to leave to find something to eat. Went to Naswa by boat. Dock assistants were great. Decided to eat at beach bar and grill. Host was pleasant and waitstaff were friendly. Atmosphere was fun. However, all the food seemed to be prepackaged frozen food. We got the Calamari, which was drowned in chili sauce. Cheeseburger was definitely not fresh. Nacho's came out with prepackaged salsa and prepackaged guacamole. All food lacked flavor. We ordered Pirates Punch and other fruity drinks. They were $13 a piece and had a very weak pour of alcohol.
