First of all, all of the negative comments about this place are just ridiculous and hilarious. This one family that decided to all pitch in and write some nasty stuff has nothing better to do with their time. Lana's has been around for over 18 years in successful business - if you check with the New York Dept of Health, you will never see a complaint or a problem with their record - they keep a clean school and camp and work extremely hard to show all their children an amazing time. Regardless of what this one family experienced, Lana's takes in students of every race, ethnicity and religion, because it doesn't matter where a person is from, as long as they are looking for a fun and enjoyable place to be and to learn, Lana's will take them in and teach them. In addition, Lana's employs people of all different races and religions to work with their students, granted that they are experienced and trained individuals. The camp director and his staff go out of their way during the summer camp to find different activities for children to do if it is a rainy day outside, or if the children want to do something different and new. Every year new equipment is bought so that children will not have to use broken equipment. The camp counselors go through extensive orientations and training that teach them how to handle certain difficult situations, and how to be prepared to take care of children. Office managers and director's staff are always available to help out as well. Children are never brought outside if the weather is unbearably hot - they are kept inside where there are air conditioned rooms and perform activities indoors. All facilities and buses are loaded with chilled water in the case that a child is thirsty, and food is always kept on hand in the case that a child gets hungry in between meal times. Children always leave the summer camp tan and happy with the memories they've created with their new friends. Many of the clients and customers at Lana's are not first timers, and those who are always come back the next year. The management and staff is personable and very understanding to people's needs and will always work with a family in order to find the best possible plan for them. Anyone who researches the background of the family that runs the place will learn that they come from a country where there was religious oppression, and that is something that the family had to run from. Therefore it is ridiculous to think that these are the same people who supposedly are racist and oppress people of other nationalities and backgrounds. Instead, they embrace the idea of unity with other cultures and are always open to learning more about different people and their traditions. My suggestion to people who are interested in enrolling their child into a school where they will learn to work together as a team with other children, where they will learn to dance and swim and do gymnastics, and create beautiful art with other children..my suggestion to you would be to come to the place, and speak with the family that owns it, and truly find out for YOURSELF whether or not this place is right for you. After you do that, make your decision. Oftentimes families are interested in taking a trial period of 2 weeks, so that they may see if their child enjoys the camp. Lana's gymnastics has a very respected and dedicated program, and is highly reputable for CREATING athletes. I had a sister who had taught dance there many years back, she was selected because Alex knew that she had dance very near to her heart. Let me cut to the chase, all of you whining about the school being racist for simply having too many Russian people, take a look at yourselves. What do you have against a school with a large majority of people from all over Eastern Europe, IF *YOU SUPPOSEDLY respect all cultures. If you hate the school that much , I'm sure there are plenty of other options ( probably less diverse and more catering to your needs) that you can send your son to. Lana's schools are not racist, and having a large amount of people from a certain community strengthens culture, BUT DOESN'T INDICATE discrimination at all. Maybe you should have had a privilege to have gone to one of Lana's schools as a child, and we wouldn't be having this conversation. I've worked for Lana's preschool in woodside; my name is Angela. Although we butt heads from time to time, Lana is someone who makes sure that her programs are nothing but exceptional and extraordinary. I'd also had visits to the gym and was never made to feel bad for not being Russian. Maybe you should teach your son to embrace all cultures. This gym has been disappointing in many respects. The mats and equipment are old and appear unclean, which raises concerns about both hygiene and safety. The coaching also lacks professionalism. While some instructors may have prior gymnastics experience, there does not seem to be consistent, structured training--especially for recreational students. Unless your child is on the team, there appears to be little focus on skill progression or a clear development plan. It often feels as though the priority is collecting payments and requesting reviews rather than meaningfully addressing parents' concerns about scheduling, training quality, or facility conditions. Communication is limited, and feedback does not seem to be taken seriously. The front desk is not particularly welcoming, and there is little sense of community. Families walk in, children go to the mat, and there is minimal interaction beyond that. The overall environment feels impersonal and poorly managed. Additionally, there seems to be a lack of accountability from ownership, with concerns dismissed rather than constructively addressed. Lana's is a disgrace. If there were other options in the area, nobody would choose to be here. The policy here is "the customer is never right." The facility is neglected, the owner is rude, there is zero transparency with parents and overall, it's just a terrible experience. Parents - don't expect to ever meet your child's teacher or get any updates as to how your child is doing in the program. Want to watch your child in the gym? Good luck, there's only one small window for viewing and only a fraction of the gym is visible. When they finally do let you into the gym for their year-end "performance", be prepared for it to be more of a sales pitch than a showcase of what your child learned. Most of that show is their gymnastics squad, not even your own child. If you scroll down you'll see another recent Google review stating that the year-end show was a fire hazard. I was there and It absolutely was. So much in fact that I actually came home and made a 311 complaint. Yet another example of how poorly the place is run and how little they actually care about the student and customer experience. I take my three year old cousin and he loves it! The gym is very conscious regarding their student's safety and well being. The classes are structured, the students challenged but not overwhelmed allowing them to learn and have fun. The kids are happy and the coaches are knowledgeable, caring, and focus on the progress and enjoyment of each child. This family-owned and operated gymnastics club offers an array of programs for active children focusing on building self-esteem and confidence in addition to physical fitness. Awful gym, poor ethics, discouraging coaches and unqualified, location is old and under utilized. They disrespect parents/ caregivers and do not accommodate others, they are probably riding on a high horse not realizing customer service is what drives your reviews. Those online photos are not all from their gym, marketed photos. The gymnast that are on teams are mostly transfers- they do not produce the team girls because they do not know how to train professionally. read more

The children in our family and my sister's family have been coming here for Summer Camp for many years, and we all love it. They take the kids to the pool 3 times a week and on trips twice a week. All food and trips and transport is included in the price, so its pretty awesome. Every year they incorporate some new trips, and during the day the kids do gymnastics or dance classes as well as other sports activity. read more

Not many gymnastics schools in queens. Didn't know this place existed until I was recommended by a friend. My kids really enjoy it here.
