I received an unsolicited email from Sanctuary early in January, saying goodbye to the other spa and saying they would honor gift certificates from that spa. I called IMMEDIATELY to make sure I would be able to use my certificate, as they said they would honor it. Except they don't. First, they couldn't find my number in the certificate list, the list was hard to read, it was a hassle, etc. They didn't call me back. So I went there, they made copies of the certificate, and said they would get back to me, never did. I called the company that issued the original certificate, and they said Sanctuary should absolutely accept the certificate. But when I went back, they said no, they were no longer accepting any gift certificates, there's no room for regular clients (didn't they tell me they couldn't look me up?), and I should try to understand their position. How about this... If you don't want to accept the gift certificates, don't send me an unsolicited email saying you will. And then don't make me work hard for nearly a month to tell me you won't accept it. This has to be one of most horrible new business development ideas of all time. Good luck to you if you want to deal with them. I will never give them my money.
