SCAM - DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE If you care at all about your pet DO NOT bring them here. What we all want for our pets is good, quality care with a trustworthy vet. But this isn't that type of place. I have a Bernese Mountain Dog - large breed- and my regular vet doesn't provide spay and stomach tacking services for such a large breed. So I started digging and found Lancaster Animal Clinic. IT WAS ALL DOWNHILL FROM HERE. My FIRST consult was with a female vet that gave my dog an exam, but told me she couldn't perform the surgery. If I wanted my dog's spay and stomach tacked, I'd have to have another consult with ON THE SPOT, which is a separate provider that uses their location. At the end of this visit, I was charged for a consult fee and for ear infection treatment. This was completely paid for, in full, no disputes. But a little frustrating when this could have been avoided by the staff when scheduling my appointment because seeing another vet would mean another consult fee... but still I wanted my dog to see the correct vet. So I made a SECOND consult appointment, in July, and came back to see the ON THE SPOT vet, Dr. Reynolds. During this visit, Dr. Reynolds examined my dog, talked to me about the spay and stomach tacking procedure, and I was very clearly uneasy about this and said I wanted to think about it and the associated cost which he quoted as $2,500. The vet also noticed during this visit, a skin irritation on my dog, and offered a special shampoo and pills. I DECLINED and said I would take my dog to our regular vet, but Dr. Reynolds said he would take care of it at no additional charge. I thought this was extremely considerate given I had been at the clinic multiple times and charged for multiple things without ever receiving the services I was there in consult for.... Can you guess what happened next?... I receive a bill, IN NOVEMBER, almost 5 months after the consult, saying that I owe the consult fee and the medication. When describing the situation to the staff, I'm treated as if I'm lying and neither the clinic staff, ON THE SPOT staff, or Dr. Reynolds can acknowledge a miscommunication on their part. I'm asked questions by their billing staff quoted from email "If you were going to get them through your regular vet., why did you take them? If you had any concerns about the fee for the medication why not ask before you left." I had absolutely no reason to confirm something that I thought was perfectly clear to me at that time. This clinic along with ON THE SPOT only want your money. They don't care if you've been a good client, they don't care about your pet...and they don't care about you... I was taken advantage of during my interactions with the clinic's staff and with Dr.Reynolds. I was completely misled which is highly dishonest and unprofessional. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR DOGS HERE! Update 12/9/2022: In response to the comment left by the clinic on Google to clarify a few MORE "miscommunications." Harley was well within the healthy weight for a Bernese Mountain Dog and NO where in her records shows obesity. In her examinations it was suggested to switch her from puppy to adult food to PREVENT obesity. During the exam with Dr. Reynolds - he in fact DID NOT recommend postponing the surgery. He said the skin irritation was not serious enough to cause him concern if we moved forward. AND I didn't just leave...I walked out with a vet tech and even asked what I needed to do before I left. Just PLEASE if anyone is considering coming here - DON'T! I'm really trying to keep pet owners from going through this with their furry loved ones. read more

I have had dogs for 60 years and when I lived in Lancaster they were patients of Dr. Bonham and I never had one reason to complain. In fact, I had two dogs euthanized at two different times and was treated with great kindness throughout the process. The whole office was very professional and helpful. If I still lived in the lancaster area I would still take my dog to this practice. read more

Our first time boarding our puppy huskies with LAC and the VET missed looking for the rabies tags on the dogs collars. So they gave them a second rabies vaccine. After several other shots were given and the dogs were boarded. The clinic stated that we had told them the dogs didn't have a rabies vaccine and that is why they did it a second time. I'm not sure what is difficult about calling the other clinic to double check OR JUST LOOK AT THE DOGS COLLAR. Rather than just remove the two charges for $19 vaccine shots on a $441 dollar bill, they stuck us with the extra rabies vaccine. They lost what could have been a loyal boarding customer over $40 bucks. But then the boarding didn't seem to go very well either. Both dogs came back home whining and proceeded to inhale food as if they hadn't eaten in weeks. Both had lost over 1 pound in the course of less than 4 nights of boarding. I'm not sure they saw the light of day while they were boarded. The only positive note is the the young lady at the front desk was very professional and just blamed the vet for not removing the charge as she was "just the middle man." In my line of work we service the customer first. If this is the service they provide to their customers, I can only imagine how our puppies were treated while we were away. We will be looking elsewhere for boarding and a vet. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars but one is the lowest. I have been bringing my dog here for years for grooming, shots and vet care. Today my dog was attacked by another dog. I called because my dog was bleeding and I wanted to get her checked out. I was told to take her to Diley Ridge because Lancaster Animal closes at 1pm. It was 11:15am when I called and I live five minutes away!!! After all the years I have brought my dog there, they can't make time for her in an emergency?! DO NOT COUNT ON THEM IN AN EMERGENCY!!! read more

We needed a new groomer and stumbled upon LAC. They were also recommended to us by relatives so we gave them a try for grooming of our 2 dogs. The results were great: the staff is professional and courteous and the dogs are looking their best - way to go! Also, pricing is fair. read more

We have had such wonderful experiences since we switched to Lancaster Animal Clinic a few years ago! The pricing is fair and the staff is nothing short of wonderful. The techs are friendly with us and our dogs. Dr. Jennifer Morrow does a wonderful job at making sure my dogs feel at home. They run to greet her when she walks into the exam room. I have been bringing my cats to Lancaster Animal Clinic since 2013. The Doctors and staff are very caring and knowledgeable. I have used them for routine care and emergent sick visits. They care about the animals and will often reach out for updates. They offer lab, x-rays and even echocardiograms. I mainly see Dr. Bonham who I can't recommend highly enough, but my cats have been treated well by the other Vets also. The office responds quickly to requests by chewy.com to get the prescription cat food needed by my chunky boy. I have recommended them to many others.who have also been pleased. read more

A little more expensive than most places, and they don't make sure you get the same vet each time for your pet. This keeps the vets from becoming familiar with your pet's medical history or behavior. Other than those minor issues, they have given good, knowledgeable, and professional treatment to our dogs each time we have went in. read more

The Lancaster Animal Clinic provided a welcoming atmosphere along with good prices. They were fast, efficient and worked well with my poodle, Chip. They also have nice boarding rooms and their groomers are top notch. I highly recommend this clinic. read more

I have been taking my dog to this clinic since moving to the area in 2009. They are the best! Easy to work with; good prices; approachable staff. They cut my beast dog's nails for $10. And he takes a wrestling to get him to give up. They really are awesome. read more

We've taken our other pets to this location a few times but this particular review is for our latest visit. Our 17 year old cat was in his final hours and we took him in to be euthanized. We arrived shortly after they opened and were asked if we had an appointment. Umm, no, we don't have an appointment to have our cat put down. Who knew you needed an appointment for such a thing? Anyway, after telling the person at the front desk that we didn't have an appointment we were told they only had one doctor in and the morning was full, but if we wanted to sit in the lobby for a few hours she might be able to fit us in at some point. Sure, sit in the lobby with our cat in a box barely hanging on to life with other people bringing their pets in to be seen. That would've been fun with the three of us bawling our eyes out because we're about to lose a beloved family member. Imagine taking a human into the ER, only to be told they only have one doctor on call and we can wait in the lobby. With this NOT an option for us we drove another 20 minutes to an emergency vet and 30 minutes later our baby boy was gone. Kudos to Diley Hill Animal Emergency Center for doing what Lancaster Animal Clinic wouldn't do. read more

Our vet of many years moved to Lancaster Animal Clinic. It is very unfortunate for us and our dog because the staff is very unprofessional and rude. They continue to carry on personal conversations while you wait to be acknowledged. Our dog spent all day for some testing and when we picked her up after the staff finished their conversation they looked at me like I was an interruption and asked what I needed. They went to the back for her file and came out to collect payment and said nothing. We sat and waited for some time then someone brought her out and said here you go. I had to ask to see the doctor for explanation on what had taken place all day. She came back out and said someone will call you Tuesday this was Friday. We have been going there for a year now and each time is unsettling but we will continue to go to the clinic because our dog loves the doctor but will not take any future animals there. read more

I am always pleased with the services provided, the knowledge of the staff in resolving my pet's issues, and the reasonable prices for the services provided, even in an emergency situation.
