However since they were taken over by Penn Medicine there has been changes that I'm not so enamored with. One of the practice's best assets is their employees and customer service. I loved that my phone call was always answered live and the clerical staff were always so helpful. Calls were returned promptly and all my insurance/billing inquiries addressed immediately. Since Penn's arrival they no longer answer with a live operator. Instead, as with most other doctor's offices you are greeted by a long menu and extended wait times to make an appointment. In other words they did away with the one feature - a live operator - that set them apart from the others and this saddens me. They also have a new check in kiosk instead of being greeted by and checked in with a human. While I don't necessarily dislike this feature the practice does have a large clientele of older patients who I have seen struggle with this. If given the option my bet would be that anyone over 60 would prefer to check in with a live person. I hope they decide to make this feature optional and not mandatory as they push now. My third gripe has been the referral department. I don't know if there have been personnel changes or if my new insurance is just very complicated for them but have been having issues getting things addressed for months now. In many ways I feel as if I am doing her job. I have even reached out to my insurance company myself (a task in itself) and gotten detailed written responses on the responsibility of my PCP and cut/paste to the referral girl only for her to continue to do her own thing. While I like that our correspondence is documented when I reach out to her on the Epic/MyLGH health app, it does take her a few days to respond. With that said I am still actively trying to resolve an issue, and hope that this issue and future ones are handled the proper manner. Despite these changes I love my doctors; Elizabeth Sigmund and Dr Elkz being my personal favorites and the nursing and clerical staff (with the exception of referrals) are wonderful. Overall the front staff work well with the back staff and I haven't witnessed a high turnover in either department. Their hours are convenient, as is there location and I highly recommend anyplace that uses the Epic system to correspond and share information and test results between doctors. They still get my recommendation.

I explained I was looking for a family dr I could visit when needed for an occasional illness, ie cold, stomach issue. I thought we had an understanding and the dr was pleasant enough. shortly after I was told I would need to come in for an exam every 6 months because my insurance required it. (not true). Then she said it was their office policy. in the last few months, I have had minor problems that required treatment in a timely manner. Both times I could not make an appt earlier than 2 days later. Was told to go to Urgent Care. My insurance would have paid in full for family dr but cost me $50 at UC. I relayed this to dr and they could care less. So - I am aware that I don't really matter as patient. They want me to come in for unnecessary exam, but are too busy when I need them. I will be changing drs.

When I stated I was uncomfortable and in SEVERE PAIN I was told to "just be quiet, I am almost finished" the nurses leaned all over my body during the procedures. The procedures in general felt 'rushed' as if the nurses did not want to be there and do their job. I felt extremely uncomfortable and violated, I was not reassured once, I was not informed about the process, I felt as if I was being treated like a criminal in a place that is supposed to show you the most care and comfort. There were at LEAST, 8 different nurses in a room with you, one of them will be playing on their phone while the other is playing around on her Apple Watch, while the other is being trained. We are the practice dummies. These nurses are right out of high school and have absolutely no idea what is going on around them. I would never, EVER recommend anybody to this hospital! I am traumatized, I will never be returning. I will need therapy after my experience at this Ephrata hospital. Please, if you care about your health and body, do not go here, do not send your children here.

The tech who did my vitals was super nice. The x-ray tech deserves a raise. She was so friendly, explained what she needed me to do, and what she was doing. The PA really listened to me, and what medications had taken care of the issue the last time it happened. In addition, every single person said, "I hope you feel better soon." On top of all of that, the wait time was minimal, and the facility was bright and clean. Bonus: the X-ray tech keeps her room a little warmer. And the chairs in the waiting room are actually comfortable. Thank you for giving a sick woman a comfortable and comforting experience.

She is thorough and patient...never hurries you through your Appt and is amazing on the portal. She has helped me with every single issue I've brought her way. The same goes for Dr. Telford-Wren. She is both my kids' pediatrician and has been immensely helpful. Now for the incredible office staff. Let me tell you...these ladies are so sweet, so funny and so helpful. The amount of times I've laughed with them after an appointment is worth a couple stars by itself. They always help me out when I call and have really put in overtime on some of my family's referrals and appointments. I think it's unfair that they have one single review, and that it's so terrible. I wanted to take a moment and say something nice about this, even though the more people that go, the less chance I have to get the quick appointments :)

I suggest you find another medical group and not use these doctor's because of him. While the sign outside says Urgent Care, they will bill you as a hospital - which generally has a higher copay. We went there for X-rays because my insurance says that there is a certain copay for X-rays at an urgent care. When we get the bill, we find that it was billed as a hospital out patient visit - costing a lot more! This is flat out deceptive! They put huge signs up saying "Urgent Care" when they are not that. I hate it when people decieve me inorder to make money. There is another Urgent Care over on 272 near the CVS. I'd recommend going there instead.

The nurses were also extremely nice and were so sweet to my little girl! My daughter was quickly on the mend after being seen here.
