I called G.L.R. and very quickly received a response from Justin to come out and give me an estimate. I also received the estimate in a timely manner and the estimate was a very reasonable price. I did not know the cause of the mold and Justin found 4 things that were contributing to the growth and was able to correct all four things. Justin is very knowledgeable and it was clear that he knew what he was doing and he takes pride in doing the job right. He suggested other improvements (that I didn't think of) such as offsetting the paint job with 2 different colors to make the bathroom look better. This bathroom is my kids bathroom and I can tell that they are taking steps to keep it cleaner now that it has been redone. Started out fine but my mistake was not getting a quote first. Second was paying if full on a…read moreweekly basis. Admittedly we expanded our project as we went, but I have never had a contractor that expected the customer to buy even the basic supplies... ie: paint rollers, pans, etc. ( I have had prior contractors who gave me a quote and they purchased all supplies and did the work.) Fine went down hill quickly.... they don't know how to measure... door jams don't meet the floor, trim in the bathroom is off by more than a quarter of an inch. AND... don't even expect a decent application of paint! The wainscoating buckled to the point of pushing trim out of line and of course that wasn't corrected. Brett doesn't stand by his work either... we voiced concerns and he said he would "fix it" On several occasions he said he would come to do work and he never showed. Last time he was here, I thought he was coming back to do final touch ups but NO.... I have sent him pics of cracked dry wall, paint/plaster on windows, carpets/trim, areas of walls that have missed paint, etc. and there is a window sill that is SOOO out of level you can't set a plant on it. At one time he told my husband, " I didn't know she wanted things so fancy." In my opinion, nothing is fancy but I did expect professional service. If what was being asked was out of his realm of expertise, he should have said so and another contractor would have been retained. He has not responded to calls or texts. BEWARE.

The entirety of Jones' staff are exceptionally horrific, talentless, absurd, lazy, and full of rude…read morepeople. Don't waste your money. They have been the long-time go-to of my landlady, probably for as long as they have been in business. But now, both they, and my landlady and all her tenant refuse to do business with each other. 1) The first visit to our apartment, were two young kids who didn't know half of what my father and housemate did about heating and plumbing. They all got locked outside by accident, and both of Jones' employees pulled out hunting knives and boasted about how easy it would be to break into our house. Talk about terrifying! My father had to start opening a window before they could, because they would not listen when he said to wait. They were just that eager to prove their lockpicking skills, apparently? 2) They came again, but a different set of guys, to repair our toilet (which they had faultily installed in the first place). They declared nothing was wrong with it and left. It leaked again, and my father had to replace the wax ring himself. We called and told them, got a noncommittal answer, and they came back to make sure it was done to code. It was. They charged us to tell us we did it right, when they couldn't. 3.a) The water authority told us we had to replace our water meter where it entered the house, before it was cordoned off for apartments. We told Jones WHEN WE CALLED that the valve was very old and very corroded, and needed to be replaced. When they got here? "Oh, you need a valve, right. We don't have one. Hey kid, go back to the office and get one." So my father is sitting there waiting with these other two, because they didn't think ahead. 3.b) Mind you, this is while the water was shut off, so not only did they inconvenience us, but the water authority AND all the other tenants. 3.c) We had set up the initial appointment for 10am. When it got to be 12, we figured we should call to see when they planned to arrive. We were rudely told by the secretary that "she had no idea," and that "the OTHER girl makes all the appointments, but she's not in." So my father said, "Well, do they plan to show up at all today? We have plans, which we already made around this, since your guys were supposed to be here already." She snapped at him, telling him to "just go ahead and leave" and HUNG. UP. ON. HIM. What kind of customer service is that?! We had to call the landlady and explain this womans behavior to her, and then SHE had to call Jones back to reschedule. 4) They were also responsible for installing our water heater and furnace. The pipes to the heater are the wrong size, and had some sort of board installed over it deliberately, holding the condensation over the tank. The furnace is uncalibrated to the thermometer, and despite only being less than 2 years old, the burners stopped working! Again, my father had to do his research, read over the manual, and do it himself. This is just all an abridged version of what I can remember over just these last NINE MONTHS of having to deal with Jones. Supposedly they told our landlady they refuse to work with us, but honestly? We're done with them. If it hadn't been for the landlady's insistence, we would have kicked them to the curb when they THREATENED MY DAD WITH HUNTING KNIVES.
