Few tips: Don't expect a racetrack, the car goes very slow the entire time ~1-5mph Don't drink any liquid 1 hour before this experience. The constant bumping up and down, from side to side makes holding pee unbearable. If you're thinking about just going in the wilderness: unless you're male, good luck trying to pee among the 1 foot shrubbery of privacy and poison oak everywhere. Our experience: My bf was super excited about this experience and booked us both tickets. I thought alright, I guess we have to do what he wants 1/100000 times we plan something ;D I can't remember the name of our guide, but he was an older retired gentleman. He was a great teacher. He had very clear instructions and worked with our comfort level. First thing we did was our guide took us to a small clearing in the forest and went over all the buttons in the car and some other off-roading tips. Then there was a small practice area to get the hang of the off-roading technology in the car and get a feel for the SUV. After a few twists and turns, we were ready to hit the trails. Our guide was in the car in front of us and we communicated via radio. He would tell us what he was about to do, then do it, and we would follow. Before certain big hills/grooves, we grouped outside of the cars and discussed strategies for getting across. We were on the trails for about an hour. Honestly, don't ask me what we learned. The only thing I remember is Hill Descent Control (HDC) and my full bladder bouncing up and down. My boyfriend felt very empowered after the 2hr lesson and has not stopped talking about buying an off-roading vehicle since.

Most amazing off-road vehicle instruction ever! Justin was the lead instructor and manager who arranged the visit ahead of time. Justin greeted us and welcomed us into their training facility. For all Land Rover vehicles purchased or leased - this includes Range Rover, Land Rover, LR4, Discovery, Discovery Sport, Velar, etc... You get a 2 hour free instruction one on one with a Land Rover instructor on how to navigate your car on many different obstacles / terrain. We signed up as an Owner's Experience day they host 4 times a year. Starts in the morning at the Quail Lodge Golf Course conference room w/ great filling hot breakfast! Then we all get into our Land Rovers and split into 2 separate groups that do the same trail but at different speeds. The larger Range Rovers, LR4, full sized Discovery cars all go together because they have the 2 speed transfer case (low and high range) 4 wheel drive system. Our group was 2 cars - Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport because these cars have a single speed transfer with Haldex coupling which retains all wheel drive ability. Sterling was our instructor and he definitely worked his day by hiking alongside our cars going up and down hills for 3 hours. Speed was slow but controlled, we had the opportunity to traverse: ditches, huge uneven hills, 33 degree side bank traverse, deep water crossings, mud, 2 wheel teeter-totter ridge balancing, and huge downhill slides on 3 wheels. These vehicles are amazing! No wonder they are the choice for serious off road driving like the African sahara desert to rain forests. We end the 3 hour drive with a delicious lunch at the golf meeting room. And to end the event, we receive our framed certificate, money clip, LR hat, and a nice LR notebook. Sterling was a former car sales person and now is a consultant to Land Rover as a product specialist and dealer trainer. Sterling has shown so much more capability than the selling dealer, that I learned more about my car than any other brand! Sterling was also able to spend about an hour with us after the event and showed us the new full sized Discovery that replaced the LR4 - they call it the Discovery 5. I will be upgrading to the new Discovery 5 TD6 (diesel) which gets 40MPG!

WooHoo! As good as it gets simply isn't enough adventure fans! Let's push this up set a new standard -- Yelper's Six-Star E-Ticket Thrill RIde Freakin' Good Time! Think that just about sums it up. We laughed. We screamed. We cheered each other on as we got sideways, vertical, looking down the front end into nothing, and rolling around in the back seat holding on for dear life. Tense. You bet! Our driving instructor - Mark Curtsinger -- had it all under control. And the Land Rover came back none the worse for wear except a little road warrior dirt. Looking for perfect team building event? Wedding, birthday, whatever party?! This would be the ultimate gift. This Land Rover practically drives itself over gullies and steep terrain. Exhilarating to the maximum degree! When they say they accomplish the impossible -- they aren't kidding. Off-roading, one-of-a-kind experience close to home at Land Rover Experience at Quail Lodge in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

We had a fantastic time at the 2-hour Land Rover Experience. Our instructor was calm, patient and very knowledgeable. We drove through some pretty intense terrain - over rocks and through water. The experience is perfect for groups, too. They have created team-building activities that focus on communication and trust. Overall our experience was 5 star. While the adventure was exciting and thrilling, I felt safe in a controlled environment the entire time.

Yesterday was a day that gave a different prospect in enjoying driving my range rover. The off road experience was out of world. A good exposer for me. The team was wonderful. For the first half me and my car was at the lead and each and ever difficult maneuver was so tactfully handled. Understanding driving in this way was great. Thanks "the Land Rover team".

We thought this would take a week but it took 3 days - those goats take their work seriously. The good: -Billie and the goats and dogs (and emu) are all delightful. Billie was extremely accommodating and hard working. The goats and dogs are absolute sweethearts and all come running when they see you for pets. -Poison oak is now extinct on my property. -The ground is fertilized and there is nothing to clean up other than sticks. The bad: -Noise. The "baaa"-ing was one thing, but the guard dogs were pretty brutal through the night. We had some coyotes hanging around so there was lots of barking. So that's it, thanks for following. I'm really happy to finally be able to present this and I'm actively brainstorming on how we can get a goat co-op going in our neighborhood.

There are multiple trails through the Point, and each of them showcase stunning views of the sea and saw well as flora and fauna It was barely raining while we were there and it never dampened our spirits. The trails got a little slick, but nothing too dangerous. In fact, this is more of a seaside walking path than a physical intensive hike We saw many seals and otters on our hike. There was also a rest stop that had park rangers and an interactive exhibit that was very cool. You could feel the skin of a seal, otter, and even the baleen from a whale Some tips: If you haven't explored Carmel or Monterey you are just a short drive away There are many coastal hikes and scenic points/beaches to explore. We also enjoyed a more physical hike at the Pinnacles, but that is an hour or so away Cheers!!

It's so serene, scenic, natural, cool, and both the botanical plantlife as well as the animals (air, land, and ocean wildlife) you can find and view here are just so amazing. Being it's in the Monterey Bay, it's almost always cool when it's hot in the valley, so it's another great place to escape to. It's just a very nice and unique point in the bay and although you can spend the whole day here, or even several days, a couple of hours will also be very rewarding for a change of scenery for those of us who are urban dwellers who want to reconnect with God's natural wonders once in awhile. Overall, Point Lobos is an authentic, breathtaking, and calming place for those who enjoy seeing the ocean and taking in all the native plants, vegetations, and all the air, land, and sea creatures one can encounter or at least observe here.

They were super responsive when we wanted to book our tour with just a few days notice - so mad props for their fast, friendly service in getting us booked so quickly!! Our guide was friendly and very knowledgeable about Carmel, and provided an overview about the area and was very willing to answer any questions we had. We enjoyed chatting with her throughout the 4 hour experience. We enjoyed tastes from 5-6 different locations throughout the downtown Carmel area. We were definitely provided a lot of variety and everything was delicious - from doughnuts and coffee and nuts to French onion soup and sushi. We had the opportunity at one of the locations (Toro) to have an interactive experience, spending time speaking with the general manager learning the background about the restaurant. We also had a special sake tasting featuring three different sakes. It was a very unique experience and the sushi was also extremely fresh and delicious. Overall, it was a good experience and we were able to enjoy a nice variety of food that local restaurants provide. Important tips for future tour goers: 1. Don't eat before going on a food tour. We thankfully didn't eat -otherwise, we would not have been able to enjoy the food tour to its fullest. 2. Don't book any reservations to restaurants that same day. We were still stuffed by the time it was time to go to dinner - and that was more than 5 hours later!
