We have been having water issues in our back and side yards. Our backyard has a pretty decent slope to it and the water would pool between our patio and playground. Connor came out and did a through inspection of the property and advised installing a catch basin in the back yard that would dump out into the street as well as a French drain to handle the soggy side yard. When we informed Connor that we'd be using him he told me he'd rethought some things about the project. Just the idea that he'd put additional thought into our situation before we'd signed a contract made me feel like he really cared about helping us. Throughout the project we kept remarking about how efficient and thorough his work was. Every day he cleaned up after himself and made sure any digging was filled back in. I've never hired someone who has worked as hard as Connor. I cannot say enough how grateful we were for his meticulousness and professionalism. A few days after all the pipes had been laid down we had a decent bout of rain in the morning. Usually this would mean a small pond in our backyard and our side yard would be marshland for days. We had no pooling in the backyard and when I checked the side yard at about 2 pm the ground was almost dry. I was hopeful that it would work but I was astonished at how well it worked. What really made me uncomfortable was hearing her speak negatively about a sweet woman she had hired who is deaf, saying she needed to fire her because she apparently didn't know she was deaf when she hired her. She then talked about an ex-employee who had previously threatened to harm himself and said she wished he would. She also discussed a situation involving her best friend, who was apparently suicidal after finding out his wife cheated on him, and joked about using the shotgun she had taken away from him on someone named Sean, who I assume may have been the ex-employee she was talking about. I was shocked to hear this being discussed openly while customers were around. I felt extremely uncomfortable and left shortly afterward. The fact that September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month made hearing these comments even more disturbing to me. I won't be returning.
