I had very high hopes working with Career Partners. In my initial meeting with them, they guaranteed that they could not only help me make a transition from one career path to another, but would be able to do it in the short time span I had to make it in. They showed me a terrific list of businesses in the area that they have worked with and had connections with. This was perfect because one, no one else was confident enough to 'guarantee' this service, and where I was making such a career change, I did not have these connections that they already had. You are expected to do a lot on your own- which you should if you want to get the job you want. However, when I brought up any locations I would like to be in touch with, I felt I was ignored, or put off way too long. Some business I mentioned multiple times. Linkedin was basically all they told you to use here in terms of making connections. I was instructed to go through my counselor's Linkedin page, look through their connections, then ask them to put me in touch with people at the places I wanted to work. Again, I did this several times with little result. When I was connected, I felt that this connection didn't really know my counselor that well. Which made this awkward for me and the contact. When I missed my desired deadline, I tried to get my money back on the guarantee. However, this was something that was only said verbally, not in my contract, so they did not have to pay me back. In addition, I found it very unprofessional when my counselor, sent me another candidate's resume accidentally when returning my resume for review. Also, maybe it's just me, but I find it very unprofessional when multiple emails being sent to me are not checked for grammar or spell checked. Some may have good luck with this service, but for me, I felt like it was like the day-time 'colleges' that you see on TV. I'm sorry I put so much confidence and trust in them.
