Called last Wednesday about a noise in my Chevy Silverado. He said swing by and he'd take a look. Went down and he popped underneath and diagnosed the problem. Made a couple suggestions of some seals that should be replaced since we'd have everything opened up. I agreed and asked for a quote. He said he would call me Thursday, as he was real busy at the time. Thursday came and went so Friday I emailed and left a phone message. My husband and I were experiencing some issues with our vehicle and decided to look for a shop that could take care of the long overdue repairs. After a Google and yelp search we came across Landers auto service and decided we would use him based upon close proximity to our house and the reviews we had read that the shop had received . Robert, the owner was very knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable in our choice to use him. Everything on our car was original and led to some issues , so unfortunately the repairs led to a couple of mistakes by a technician. Those mistakes left us without a vehicle for longer than expected. However, Robert handled the issue appropriately and also came out of his own pocket to see to it that we had a vehicle to drive while repairs were made. I called on the phone before I came after bad experiences at other repair shops. What sold me was that Rabert told me "We are not part changers, we are auto repair technicians". So I came from Merced and Rabert asked if I needed a ride home. He personally drove me 30 minutes to Merced and we had a great conversation on the way. Bought my oil change service with Groupon but failed to read the FINE PRINT. Full synthetic oil change for newer vehicles require a "cartridge" versus a regular oil filter. I was charged an additional $18 for this cartridge in addition to the $36. Not a completely happy customer. I had the absolute best experience when taking my car to Lander Auto Service. The owner, Robert, knows how to treat a customer. He came across as a very genuine, honest and knowledgeable mechanic. I had a LOT of work to be done. One of the things I asked him to do was check my A/C, as it wasn't running cold anymore. He said he would do the A/C service / recharge, but warned me that he wouldn't know if there was a bigger problem until after that was done. I was fully prepared to pay for the service, knowing that I may end up still not having A/C afterwards. He DID do the service, and STILL ended up not charging me for it because he wanted me to drive it for a few days and have him look at it again. He did so much work on my car, which he estimated would take about 20 hours. Dropped it off on Friday morning, expecting it back on Monday morning. He called me at 4:00 on Saturday, and was finished. I paid over $100 less than what he quoted me since he received a discount on parts and passed the discount on to me. He showed me every part he removed from my car, as well as the boxes from the replacement parts. He stands behind his work, and told me to bring my car in if I have any concerns at all - no charge to look at it, and if there's a problem with any of the work he did, he'll make it right. He has my business from now on, and everyone in my family's as well, if I have anything to say about it. read more

Took my car here thinking I had problems with my cv axel, the guy did a diagnostic. Turns out he says my brakes were extremely bad. Unsafe to drive. Needed to be fixed asap. And was going to charge me 494 plus tax for all four brakes. Told him I needed some time to figure out money, had a friend look at them and turns out they were completely fine!!!! Almost brand new. Nothing wrong with them at all. I am a mother and went alone, no male with me. And I am assuming he took advantage of me being a woman and a mother and tried to charge me that much for something I didn't need whatsoever. What a scam read more

I had a situation where the window on my 2011 Toyota Highlander went down and would not come back up. The motor was working but the window was not returning. They are open on Saturdays, which great because I work out of town and it is impossible for me to get to the shop on regular weekday hours. I took my Mercedes Benz to get a bearing on an anlternator. I just have to say that I love love love this place and there should be more places like this where people feel more comfortable getting their vehicle service knowing that they're not going to get ripped off and they have really great customer service and amazing communication. They treated me like a valued customer instead of just a female where others may take advantage of women coming in to get their vehicle serviced. not only do they tell you what they're going to do but even showed me and educated me on parts of the process which I found to be awesome and very valuable. I dealt mostly with Robert but I also dealt with Hilda and they are both amazing and I just had a great experience here. I would refuse to take my vehicle anywhere else. Also my bill ended up being cheaper than estimated because there were some things that just did not need to be done and I like the fact that they're very honest and not going to do unnecessary work and charge you more than they should. My go to mechanic! My mom has been going to Robert for 10+ years now, as i've been going to him for about 4! He is the most trustworthy mechanic i've ever come across, there has never been a moment he's tried to be a fraud or anything in that sort. Being a young woman i don't know much about cars, but Robert always explains his best and never takes advantage of me not being anywhere near knowledge of cars. Very impressed with service. My first time taking my Audi Q7 there and not many shops will work on Audi besides dealer. They were very up front with me about everything they found and called me every time as they got deeper into issue, even texting me pics and explaining what was going on. My Audi is a 2007 and had other small issues which they informed me about, but only fixed what was necessary now to get my vehicle operating and safe. Technician was very honest with me about my vehicle, in that once these performance vehicles reach a certain age and mileage, then I will have more issues to deal with down the road. They gave me the option on all my parts to go factory or after market with the price difference and their recommendation. The exhaust manifold snapped off up near engine (which caused additional damage to engine because we chose to drive it another 10 miles home) and he was able to have a welder come into shop and repair it as opposed to buying the complete exhaust piece from Audi which saved me close to 2,000 dollars. Very honest and reliable mechanic that I highly recommend. read more
