Congratulations to this shop for officially winning the award for worst automotive service on planet Earth. Seriously, if there were a Hall of Fame for incompetence, these guys would be first ballot inductees. From the moment I walked in, it was clear customer service isn't just bad here--it doesn't exist. The staff looked at me like I had just ruined their day by daring to bring them business. I asked questions, they rolled their eyes. I called for updates, they dodged my calls like I was a debt collector. Professionalism? Nope. Accountability? Not a chance. They told me my car would be ready "in a day." Apparently, in their world, a "day" actually means "over a week of excuses, lies, and waiting." And when I finally got my car back, guess what? The original problem was STILL there--plus a couple of new issues they generously "added" for free. And then the cherry on top? A bloated, mystery bill with no explanation. Like, wow--thanks for nothing! This shop is basically a black hole where time, money, and vehicles go to die. If you enjoy being scammed, ignored, and disrespected, by all means--come here. This is a poorly run shop. On one occurrence I took my handicap van to have a alignment done on my suspension and I called in ahead of time to make sure they knew that I would be waiting for the vehicle and I was told to come in prompt at 8 AM and they would get me right in. This sounded like in an appointment to me and upon showing up to have the work done, I was told I would need to wait because someone came in ahead of me. They then told me that everything was done on a first-come first-served basis. I had no choice, I waited for the work to be done, and that was that. Upon completing the work, I was told that it was suggested that I replace the springs, and I told them I would come first thing in the morning a week later so that they could order the parts. This time, I showed up a half an hour before my appointment first thing in the morning, gave the keys to the lady that runs the place as she was unlocking the door. There was no one in sight nobody else in their cars no vehicles ahead of me and we told her we would go eat breakfast while waiting. I showed up an hour and a half later in my vehicle had not been touched. I then asked why my vehicle was still sitting in the same place I left it and she proceeded to tell me that someone showed up with a flat tire and they had to prioritize. All of a sudden, it now became a prioritization schedule rather than first-come first-served. Additionally, I pointed out that there were a bunch of new cars in all of the bays being worked on that weren't there when I dropped my vehicle off. She had no explanation nor apology, I asked for my keys and I left. If your time means anything to you, do not go here. read more

Good honest mechanics can be hard to find. Lon and his crew at Atwater Automotive are friendly, professional, and honest. My girlfriend was having trouble with the alignment on her car. She took it to several place to get quotes before deciding where to have the service done. Everyone looked at the car and quoted her roughly the same price, but then she took it to Lon. After a quick free inspection Lon informed my girlfriend that her car could not be aligned properly because it had been hit in the past, and the frame was a little bent. He would not take her money to give her an alignment that wouldn't hold. Luckily the misalignment does not do tire damage in this case. It just causes a little vibration at higher speeds, so we can live with it. Since then we have used Lon for all of our mechanical issues. His quotes are right on par with all of the other mechanics in the local area, but I know that I'm getting quality work with Lon, and he won't feed someone lie just to make a buck. As mentioned by others very get mechanics. They ran many tets on a vibration issue. He pointed many small problems could be causing and there as no smoking gun. The other mechanics guessed and would replace unnecessary parts. Costing us hundreds. Lon and his assistant here spent an hour and only charged half of the hourly rate mainly because he felt bad no one issue could not be found. He gave us an order of what we can attempt first at little cost, which I will do myself. read more

I have mobility issues and Lon had one of his guys take me home while they repaired my truck and Lon himself picked me up when the repair was done the following day. Took my car to Razzari Nissan with a broken tail light. Eight hours and $120 later they told me I had a broken tail light...plus, they would charge me $370 more to replace it and not guarantee that it would be fixed. I wasn't going to pay them anymore for not doing anything so took it to Atwater Automotive instead and they replaced the tail light unit in about an hour and it's worked perfectly ever since. I brought my car in due to an intermittent issue. I told them to keep it a couple days and see if they could find the issue. After test driving it a few times, checking for any trouble codes, pulling a spark plug, and giving it a once over, they were unable to get it to repeat the issue. At this point I expected to pay $150 or so for checking it out, but was told there was no charge. Lon said that they wont charge if they don't actually work on the car. Now that is refreshing.
