High hopes, very disappointing. She might be ok for 1 couple going to just 1 location, but don't…read morehave her do anything else. Didn't return emails or keep us updated. I would ask a question and she'd say 'I'll look into it'. 4 days later I'd have to email again. Then a 3rd time, specifically saying, "Please respond to my emails." Examples: 4 friends traveling on a river cruise. 1 person flying home from Paris & 3 from Nice. She could not get the flight dates right. She had 2 of us flying back from Paris. It was corrected after several emails. When flights were finally booked 6 weeks before leaving, we noticed she booked 2 of the travelers returning a different day. The exact dates and travelers were sent in 2 separate emails 6 mo. before the trip. I emailed to find out what time we disembark from the cruise. 5 days later she'd respond that she was at a bridal show + would look into it in a couple days. When she did reply, she said it was 10 a.m., even though we would be docked from the night before. I told her I wanted to leave at 8 & she said I couldn't because we had to "clear customs". There are no customs. We took a river cruise leaving & returning at the same location. When I questioned her on this she said it was Viking's policy. I called Viking myself & they said there were no restrictions and could leave anytime, even the night before. 2 months before the trip, I asked for extra leg room seats + would pay the extra cost. No response. After 4 days & a follow-up email, she said she'd have the air department look into it. 4 weeks before leaving I sent a reminder. 12 days before leaving + I had to ask again. I finally called the airline directly & changed my seat to a better economy seat. She emailed me that she just changed my seat to another economy seat. I looked it up & saw it had 'restricted leg room'. I had to ask her to change it back. In the meantime, after I changed all seats to what I wanted, they all changed. I had to call the airline again to change them back.

I would highly advise against booking your honeymoon with J Sullivan Travel! I normally don't write…read morebad reviews because I can usually understand that things happen and people work hard for their job, but Jen definitely did not work hard. She was very persistent in the beginning to get us to book with her which is great! It took us some time to decide since we were in the process of moving and wedding planning but then officially decided the first of January for our August honeymoon. We booked and didn't book flights at the time since there was still a lot of time until we left and prices were high, come April, I had to reach out to Jen NUMEROUS times to help book our flights it took over a month to get this done. I would be fine doing it myself but we paid extra for the travel insurance given COVID and the flights would only be refundable if booked through Jen. Now I get that people are busy, but when we proceeded to call her after about five emails of her saying "I will look into it" and never got back to us; she was very, very rude. Once again, I get if we were giving attitude but we were not! We were very nice and calm and understanding and would thank her when she did do something for us. Now comes the worst part- she got both my fiancés and my name wrong throughout the whole booking process. I noticed it and had to call to inform her. She told me she took care of it don't worry and don't change anything! Well, when we go to check into our flight the day before we leave we couldn't. We had to take time the day after our wedding to go up to the airport and luckily the attendant at Southwest was so kind to change our information for us to the correct spelling. She even upgraded our seating for free since we couldn't check in correctly we weren't going to be able to sit together for our honeymoon on a 5 hour international flight because Jen initially messed up, said she "handled it" when brought to her attention on numerous occasions and didn't. Now that we fixed the flights, we tried to fix the resort reservation. We already called the resort once and got charged for calling out of country to confirm our reservations since Jen kept giving us incorrect confirmation numbers. So we were going to call and pay AGAIN however reservations was closed. We called Jen, no answer and her voicemail box was full and we left the next morning at 6 am. So we called funjet above her, funjet said WE would have to call the resort the next day even though we were going to be on our flight the whole morning until we got to Punta Cana anyways. After I assured them they needed to fix the scenario, they agreed and said they would handle it. Well, they didn't. We arrived to a different country and our transfer service was with the incorrect name. As was everything with the hotel reservation. WE sorted everything our ourself over Jen's mistakes brought to her attention months prior on many occasions. With that being said, you would be much better booking your vacation yourself rather than using J Sullivan Travel, she truly is the only professional I worked with during my whole wedding process that gave incredible unnecessary stress!

They also know the lay of the land, pricing-wise, and can tell if a fare will go down in the near future, ensuring I buy at the right time. They charge $35 to book a flight and I always feel like it's worth it... especially when I need someone to call during the trip if a flight is cancelled or hotel overbooked. No 20 minute holds or off-shore phone reps with this company. Highly recommended.

I know most people just book things online themselves these days, but when I went to Europe about five years ago I found a travel agent (A woman at AAA Travel) to be very helpful and took away a lot of the stress I normally get with planning things. Well, a friend recommended Evelyn at Pro Travel and said that she and her family had used her numerous times with success. So a couple weeks ago I called Evelyn and she was very friendly, but she did not handle Asia so she was going to have a gentleman who specialized in Asian trips give me a call back. I never got a call back. So I decide to try again because it's getting close to the time I need to get my sh*t together for this trip. The second time around the operator connected me with Pat who said she could help me. Pat was friendly at first but after our initial 5 minute phone conversation it became apparent in emails that she was not familiar with travel to Asia and I was having to Google answers to my own questions because she just gave me general/basic information. It was only after I found a flight I liked that she said they charge $35 to book international flights. To be fair I had spur of the moment booked a tour though Contiki because it was almost sold out, but I was wanting a knowledgeable travel agent to help me with the flight, transfers and extra hotel stays before and after the tour. I had been up front about this but when I questioned the fee I received a terse lecture like email telling me I was taking a risk booking on my own and she didn't know why I didn't come to her from the start. I have no problem with paying a fee as long as I am told about it from the start and the service I am getting is actually helpful. I had been hoping to establish a connection with Pro Travel as I plan on taking trips to Spain and the UK in the future, but my brief experience with them has deterred me from seeking a travel agent again. Maybe you'll have better luck with them like my friend did, I just would not recommend Pat.
