I used ProTrav dozens of times. They consistently find me the best price, and can often help with things you just can't get online (like discounted upgrades). They also know the lay of the land, pricing-wise, and can tell if a fare will go down in the near future, ensuring I buy at the right time. They charge $35 to book a flight and I always feel like it's worth it... especially when I need someone to call during the trip if a flight is cancelled or hotel overbooked. No 20 minute holds or off-shore phone reps with this company. Highly recommended. read more

So this gal is doing some Thailand island hopping for her birthday and I was looking for a travel agent to help with with some details. I know most people just book things online themselves these days, but when I went to Europe about five years ago I found a travel agent (A woman at AAA Travel) to be very helpful and took away a lot of the stress I normally get with planning things. Well, a friend recommended Evelyn at Pro Travel and said that she and her family had used her numerous times with success. So a couple weeks ago I called Evelyn and she was very friendly, but she did not handle Asia so she was going to have a gentleman who specialized in Asian trips give me a call back. I never got a call back. So I decide to try again because it's getting close to the time I need to get my sh*t together for this trip. The second time around the operator connected me with Pat who said she could help me. Pat was friendly at first but after our initial 5 minute phone conversation it became apparent in emails that she was not familiar with travel to Asia and I was having to Google answers to my own questions because she just gave me general/basic information. It was only after I found a flight I liked that she said they charge $35 to book international flights. To be fair I had spur of the moment booked a tour though Contiki because it was almost sold out, but I was wanting a knowledgeable travel agent to help me with the flight, transfers and extra hotel stays before and after the tour. I had been up front about this but when I questioned the fee I received a terse lecture like email telling me I was taking a risk booking on my own and she didn't know why I didn't come to her from the start. I have no problem with paying a fee as long as I am told about it from the start and the service I am getting is actually helpful. I had been hoping to establish a connection with Pro Travel as I plan on taking trips to Spain and the UK in the future, but my brief experience with them has deterred me from seeking a travel agent again. Maybe you'll have better luck with them like my friend did, I just would not recommend Pat. read more

I took a tour sponsored by Pro Travel and it was a very disappointing experience. The representative they sent with us was a mean person who yelled at me and other women on the trip. So much so that several opted out of tours and meals on the tour. The rooms we paid for were substandard although advertised as 4 and 5 star hotels. At one point, I was expected to share a room with the bus driver and tour guide. When I complained, I began to be treated abusively. I spent a lot of money and received less than stellar services. I would caution anyone to research and think twice about traveling with Robert Jerin and Professional Travel. read more

I took a tour organized by ProTravel, the 2018 Heritage Tour hosted by Robert Jerin. It was exactly what I expected and wanted! Authentic experiences of Croatian hospitality! We were taken to special places-- country villages where we stayed in B&B's, we were treated to homemade meals, and danced polkas into the night! We stayed at a hotel in Split where I swam in the Sea right outside my room! We stayed in the lovely Palace Hotel in Zagreb! Traveling as a (married) single, I enjoyed every aspect of the trip. It was REAL. That said, it may not be for every taste. Like most long trips, the people who enjoyed it the most were people who were flexible, curious, able, and youthful-in-spirit, fun, funny, and could deal with an amount of uncertainty. Leave your personal baggage at home, take as little luggage as possible, and jump aboard the bus for a life-validating experience with The Jerin's, and local host, Alan Miocevic. read more

My dream trip finally happened this past fall! The past few years I did extensive research, visited travel agencies and many websites on Croatia and finally found Croatian Heritage Tours! I found the price of their 17 day trip hard to believe for what was all included! Well, I am here to tell you our trip was exceptional! I requested info about this trip and the same day I received an e-mail with a daily itinerary, details and pricing of our tour package. We called Michael Benz at Professional Travel in North Olmsted, Ohio and Michael was the best! He found us flights at a reasonable price and a few days later he called and said a better deal was available! (Great, more spending money!) Plus our hotel stays were much better than we expected as well as fabulous restaurants and sites you wouldn't see on regular tours! Robert Jerin with Croatian Heritage Tours, was a wealth of information! We received DETAILED info about our trip and all of our silly questions were answered within hours by Michael and Robert! My husband and I had the time of our lives, best trip ever! We also had the pleasure of meeting new friends and Alen our tour guide throughout our trip was the best! This past September our family were travelers with the Croatian Heritage and History Tour organized through Professional Travel and hosted by noted genealogist Robert Jerin. Nearly all on the tour had some Croatian background and the trip was all we expected and more. We were treated daily to experiences that weaved our ancestry with the beautiful country that is Croatia. I am convinced that other tours would not feature the variety of tourist destinations such as the traditional dinner at Mlinica Sapro in the beautiful hills near Cilipi, a demonstration of silk making, the most wonderful day of eating, dancing, drinking and being entertained by the wonderful people of Gornje Bukovlje, and the Neretva Valley boat ride. Clearly, these are experiences cultivated through the relationships Mr. Jerin and his wife Sue have developed through their years of travel to Croatia. This was truly the experience of a lifetime for us, not only for the sights and sounds we experienced, but also for the outstanding travel companions we had. Our Tour Director, Alen Miocevic, was most accommodating, friendly and a fount of information. Michael Benz of Professional Travel did an outstanding job of answering all our questions prior to the trip. We would do it again in a heartbeat. read more
