Like any nursing home (and this is just my opinion…read morebased on my involvement with nursing homes for almost 20 years), the care will be insufficient for residents who cannot speak for themselves or they have someone speaking for them. Anyone who tells you they know the resident is doing great because their nurse via phone says so is full of something brown and smelly. State ratings regarding Aydan did not affect the decision to put a relative here. It was based on visits to see others, casual observations, watching interactions, the number of people not getting out of bed... You can see a lot on your own which is wiser than trusting the State to decide what is worth a five star to THEM and not YOU. I ask people all the time when checking out nursing homes... Did you walk up and down the hallway and see how many people were up and about? Moving on, the communication is terrible. If you are told at a care plan that you will be contacted about a concern later on, you will not. You can leave messages but those will be ignored as well. Do you have a loved one with a questionable, dark area around the eye? That say.... Aydan has no record of but you have pics? Do you have a loved one in this establishment with Parkinson's and you wonder to yourself how many times that bowl of soup has spilled? Don't worry about burns. That's a huge plus for Aydan. There are no burns going on here because the food and drink are cold. Would you like to talk at Tim, the administrator? You can if he's in the mood. He will assure you that whatever issue you have will be looked into and By Golly, he WILL get back with you. Yeah, like no, he will not. In all fairness, he might if you are private pay. Are you sure that your assumption that the nurses, et. al. know why your loved one is on a particular med is correct? Or do you put that assumption aside, look up the med which is for a diagnosis you did not know your loved one had and, during a care plan, discover that hey!!! nurses don't know why that was prescribed either? Would you be shocked to hear them apologize, the med discontinued and the subject never brought up again? Yeah, I wasn't either.

The care that is provided to each resident goes above and beyond. As a matter of fact, there are many residents that come short term for therapy and choose to return when care is needed again, I think that speaks volumes, if care was not what it should be patients would never want to return for a negative experience, especially when there are other care facilities nearby to pick from. I agree that when you are choosing a care facility for yourself or a loved one, don't take someone else's word for it or experience, go and see for yourself, healthcare is not cookie cutter and expectations are different for every individual. One thing that I know to be true of Ayden Piqua is you will be treated with love and dignity!

This man saved my life! Seriously…read more I had a herniated disc and was literally bent over 90 degrees because I could not stand up straight due to my discs. After further testing, my family doctor received the report that my excruciating back pain was not a simple muscle pain but a herniated disc!!!! My family doctor then referred me to Mary Rutan Orthopedics and thankfully for me, there was a cancellation due to the crazy snow storm we recently had so I was able to see Dr. Smith that same week. Dr. Smith came in, with a friendly smile, and really seemed like he cared. After examining me, he concluded that surgery would be the best method of treatment for me. Eek! Surgery! It was not the answer I wanted to hear but I fully trusted Dr. Smith and agreed to have surgery. After pre-op procedures, I was scheduled for surgery. The day of the surgery, Dr. Smith came into my room and reassured me that everything will be fine. Despite the fact that my surgery was scheduled so early in the morning at 7:30am, Dr. Smith still had a smile and made me feel at ease and calmed my nerves down. So fast forward to after surgery... immediately, I was able to stand up FULLY. Yes, there was obviously pain near the incision mark due to surgery but I was able to stand up for the first time in weeks! Keep in mind, I have been walking crouched down because of my back pain and literally within hours of the surgery, I was cured. Amazing! I am so thankful that I was able to make an appointment with Dr. Smith and had the surgery by him. After researching him, it looks like he had his orthopedic spine surgery fellowship done at New Albany Surgical Hospital and apparently hearing from my medical school friend, that's the place to learn from when it comes to spine surgery! I highly highly recommend Dr. Smith to anyone that has spine problems or even orthopedic surgery related issues. You won't regret it!

I was shocked because the point of calling was because we moved and don't want to drive 3 hours away. I've never seen this is my life with a doctor's/ dentist's office. Does that make sense to anyone to tell someone just go back to your previous dentist since he didn't retire. I should have listened to other people when they told me their personalities in this office is something nobody wants to be around. I found an amazing Ortho now and I made this review because of such the difference between them. My daughters new Ortho even told me that they should never tell that to a patient especially when they said they were accepting new patients and the family is financially secure. Classless!!!!
