There are art books, foreign language books, references, sci fi, mystery, romance, kids books, and more. It's not necessarily cheap, but the selection is eclectic. Their discount books bring me in, too, but I inevitably leave with a stack. My father did this. I inherited volumes from him, and added to it, refining the collection along the way. It's plainly stunning to see the variety of content available here. This store is a magnet for the mind. As I mentioned in my prior review, it's not as large as Powell's in Portland, or has the karma of City Lights in San Francisco, but in a way, it's close the same magnetism you feel in a really good used bookstore. Plan to spend time, and go oomph when you carry the stack when you leave. It's a dangerous place, with dangerous ideas. Go there.

I bought several items over the Thanksgiving. I called the bookstore as the shipment telephone number is disconnected and they said they would ship the correct hat. The hat shipped had a price tag below the price of the one paid. I called again the bookstore and was provided an email to send the information. After multiple follow up emails and a few voice messages. No response. This is not a great look for a school with a great business school on operations.

So, I obviously cannot offer an assessment regarding textbooks and wasn't looking for regular books per se, but I can advise re: Indiana University memorabilia, clothing and other items. The selection of these particular items was, in my opinion, better than what's available at most college and university bookstores. I bought a long-sleeved IU shirt and a notebook. These items were priced reasonably, and shopping here was a good experience.

If I were a student here, this is one place I would hang out to study, meeting with friends, and put my parents up at their hotel. I wandered the building for quite a while before I found the bookstore. University bookstores have evolved into more of an emporium for branded merchandise, which this store has in abundance. There's also a nice selection of books, some stationary supplies, and a space selling tech-related equipment. There's even an architecturally impressive multiple story open room that's also a nice study space. I picked up a calculator (yes I'm old school) and a few tchotchkes, and I was on my way, perhaps too soon.
