Not only did the sales person try to pressure sale me on a vehicle after I told him several times that I was shopping around and had not made a decision yet. He made a Hard credit check that lowered my credit score by 4 points. Then, tried to get me into a preditory loan. It would have had me paying over $32,000 on financing under $17,000. This was after I had already told the sales person, Dave McMeen, that I was going through my home bank for financing. He wasted most of my shopping time and pushed through a hard check on my credit that was unnecessary. I will not got back there again. read more

Extremely Disappointed - Misleading Practices and Poor Customer Service I normally never write reviews or leave negative feedback, but after my recent experience with Landmark Chrysler Jeep in Springfield, IL, I feel compelled to share. I was in the market for a new Jeep Wrangler 4xE, and found one listed through the Jeep website. I called ahead and spoke with Adam, who assured me that the vehicle was brand new and qualified for the EV rebate. I told him I was driving all the way from Chicago (a 3-hour trip) to see the car, and we scheduled an appointment accordingly. While on the road, both Adam and another salesperson emailed me a quoted price of $48,863 (Landmark discounted price). Around the same time, my wife requested an online quote from Landmark -- and to our surprise, it came back as $38,991, including incentives. This seemed too good to be true, but still worth confirming in person. Looking at the photos online, we noticed the interior appeared dirty, but the odometer photo showed 15 miles. I called Adam again to confirm the car was truly new -- he insisted it was and said it was simply being cleaned for our visit. Upon arrival, Adam handed us the keys. The interior was very dirty -- full of mud, sand, and food crumbs. But even worse, the odometer showed 6,690 miles. This is not a new car by any reasonable standard. When questioned, Adam claimed a manager had been using it as a "demo." When I pointed out this disqualifies it as "new," he became defensive. When we asked about the price and showed him the $38,991 online quote, he took a picture of my wife's screen and disappeared for about 25 minutes. While waiting, we noticed that Landmark had updated the price on their website -- clearly an effort to cover up the discrepancy. Adam returned and said they could not honor either the $38,991 or even the previously emailed $48,863, claiming a "website glitch." He then gave us a new price of $54,000 -- a massive jump -- and informed us that the vehicle does not qualify for the EV tax credit, contradicting his earlier statements. At no point did a manager come out to speak with us, despite the clear miscommunication and frustration. Instead, Adam dismissively told us that the dealership has the right to refuse the sale and escorted us out. We were prepared to purchase the vehicle that day if the deal had been transparent and fair. Instead, we wasted a full day and hundreds of miles on a misleading, unprofessional, and frankly disrespectful experience. Had horn service scheduled for Monday morning, parts had arrived the previous week. I was told that it should only take until tuesday to finish. Called tuesday around noon to ask for an update, was told it was still not fixed and they didnt know what the issue was. Called wednesday morning and was told that they had to order a new clock spring. Thursday morning i called asking for an update, the service advisor told me she would call me back in about an hour once the tech that was working on my vehicle got back from lunch. After an hour and a half, I had not received a call so I called back in to speak with the service advisor and was told they had gone on lunch, and they would have an update for me in a half hour when they got back. After another hour of not hearing from them I called in just to find out they kept blowing my fuses, broke my cruise control switch and still hadn't fixed the original issue with the horn. they told me they had to order more parts that should be in Friday, and that I will be able to pick up the vehicle by end of day. I asked for a loaner vehicle and was told they don't do that. I strongly urge people to stay away from Landmark Chrysler Jeep Fiat, the customer service there is horrendous. I will Not be having them touch another thing on my jeep once they finish this job. If they even can. read more

Vernon and his staff literally saved us. we were on our way to Macon with our Chrysler and saw a hot engine light with possible overheating...right before closing Vernon and his staff checked the car... gave us coolant and so much comfort! I'd take our servicing there any day!! read more

My Jeep has been at their service center for over a month. Who would have thought break lights took so long to fix. They still have it. I cant figure out if this is really happening to me or someone is playing a practical joke. Already ran theis situation up the mangement chain and still nothing. Any advice? What a joke of a dealership. Had a deal in writing for a brand new jeep grand Cherokee out the door. Live 2 hours away from Springfield and when we got there the car was ready. We ask to drive it before signing. We get in it and it had 250 miles on it and had been smoked in. They said they would bomb it to get the smoke smell out. I should have walked away then but didn't. We agreed that we would still take it. When we got to the finance person (we were paying cash) he told us what to write the check for and it was $700 more than the written deal. The salesman evened backed us up on it but they said no deal. Dont buy from them. read more

Appalling mechanic work, and extremely slow. Ended up getting charged over half a grand to fix my Jeep which only was towed in having a problem starting.... after paying them in full, my vehicle broke down completely two days after driving it off the lot. Brought it back in waited 3 weeks while it sat in their shop..... they finally told me my engine was 'destroyed' and needed to be fully replaced- for another $4500! So I paid $600 basically for nothing, will have to tow it back home. That is if they didn't ruin it with their mistakes. No loaner car, stranded a month with no transportation..... terrible communication with managers, and when they do talk to you its nothing but lies. Worst idea taking my Jeep there for service, ever! read more

My friend Chip posted a picture of a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Willys Edition on facebook and I fell in love with it. I was very happy with my black 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but I told Chip if he could get me a sweet deal on the red one that was sitting on their lot I would consider trading. At 11:00 am on Wednesday I sent Chip my information and by 5:00 pm that same day I was signing the papers on a Red 2021 Jeep Wrangler Willys !! I really had no intentions of trading my Jeep Grand Cherokee, but they gave me an awesome deal that I could not pass up ! My salesman, Troy Minton, was very professional and extremely knowledgeable about this Jeep. This purchase was by far the most pleasant experience I have ever had buying a vehicle. Worse dealership ever...I've tried. I'll start by saying that I purchased a warranty through this dealership so I always go to them first with any issues. These are various incidents over the 5 years. Now....The service department is always booked(3 to 4 weeks out) whenever I call for service or have issues with car, in the 5 years I've had my Jeep, I've never been offered a loaner car for my troubles. I had a battery replaced 9/2022, now 12/23 they are saying the battery is going bad possibly because I didn't replace the 2 at once, when I was told last year by "them" to only replace the one. No one recommended replacing the 2 at once until now. Anyway my battery shouldn't be dying once a year but I'm sure no one will look into that. They charge a $125 diagnostic fee when they don't fix anything. You talk to ppl in the service department on the phone, then they act clueless when you show up in person. In October, I paid to have 4 tires replaced, they told me they only replaced tires 2 days a week so I ended up waiting a week to have tires put on my car that were sitting at the dealership just because the tire guy works twice a week. I called to express my concerns to the manager and I was sent to voicemail. My jeep was recalled for the "kickbacks" it have, they supposedly fixed it, but yet it still has "kickbacks"; when I expressed my concern to them, I was told "Oh i don't know why", no one offered to look further into the issue. So overall, I just would not with this dealership, go elsewhere. I'm planning on selling my jeep in 2024, just so I don't have to deal with Landmark. I really wanted to say something nice about this dealership as this is the 2nd vehicle I have purchased from them but sadly I will have to be honest in my review. The vehicle I purchased from them is ok. What I do not like is the fact I thought I was getting a warranty thrown in for free and I get home and find out i am paying for it......2700 bucks. So finding this out i canceled . I was going to use this money to purchase a better and much cheaper one from FORD but they are sending all the money back to the lender so i have to borrow more money to get one. Another aspect is that I was told they would be running a soft check at first when I get dings on my credit monitering while i was waiting in the lobby. When I asked they said well we did get you a deal right? as of today I have counted over 20 - 30 hits on my credit report which are STILL there, they told me i would not have that many and they would go away in a month... NOT TRUE. I do not plan on purchasing another vehicle from these guys and will let all the people I know what I went through here. read more

If only a negative rating was an option... I brought my Wrangler in for service after some weird shifting and the check engine light turning on. At first I was very thankful that even though there were no appointments available in the next few days, the service advisor Kathy told me to bring it in a few days later and she would get it worked in. I was understanding that without an appointment I couldn't expect it to be a super quick turn around. Once my Jeep was dropped off, any consideration from the staff was completely out the door. There was absolutely no effort at communication, sometimes I would have to call 6+ times and leave multiple messages before I could get an answer, and at that it was a brief text not even a phone call. It took 9... NINE... business days before the issue was even diagnosed. I'm no mechanic but that seems pretty asinine to me. Once diagnosed a part was ordered and I was informed via text the turn around time on shipping was 5-6 days. I waited a week (now we're at the 2.5 week mark) to call and check on the status of the part. At that time I was told that both the service advisor and the tech were out and that if I wanted any kind of update I myself would have to call and check with parts and then ask parts to transfer me to a different service advisor to see if they could maybe tell me a status. I'm not sure why all of that was my responsibility, but parts didn't answer so it didn't matter much from there. The next day when I called to check I was told the part hadn't yet come and that it was set to arrive the next day, Thursday, and work would start immediately and should be done by the end of the day. When I called Thursday afternoon to check the status I was told by Kathy that the tech was working on it right that moment. She told me she would call me back to let me know if it would be done by the end of the day. Imagine my surprise when she called me back only to tell me that the work hadn't even been started, no mention of the fact that she had obviously lied to me on the previous call not 5 minutes earlier when she said that he was in the middle of working on it. I was assured that it would be started first thing Friday morning, zero acknowledgement of the delay or dishonesty, no surprise at this point. Friday upon calling midafternoon to ensure it had been started, as promised the day before, and see when I could come collect my vehicle, I was informed that both Kathy was out that day and someone tried to take my name and number to have Kathy call me back the following day. I declined and demanded to speak to someone else. At this point I was advised that the tech was also out, and again, the work had not begun. At this point I demanded to speak to a supervisor so I could recount the dishonesty, lack of communication, and blatant lack of decency. Monday morning, three weeks to the day after dropping my vehicle off, I was informed that work had finally been started and my vehicle should be ready by end of day. I received a call Monday afternoon that the work was complete but it would need to be kept another night to complete more test drives. Finally the following day I picked up my vehicle. When Kathy, the service advisor I had been dealing with for 3+ weeks, whose boss I had a very frank conversation with retrieved my keys and took my payment for my extended warranty deductible, not a single word was said about the time it took, the dishonesty, nor the absolute lack of communication. It will be out of pure desperation before I ever step foot on or near this joke of an establishment again, and I will not soon forget to remind everyone I know with a brand of vehicle under the Landmark umbrella just how absolutely atrocious their staff and customer service is. read more

Horrible service at the landmark Chrysler Jeep location in Springfield Illinois. I took my Jeep in to repair a rear main seal that was leaking. After the repair, when I got home, I noticed a large amount of fluid leaking, I took it back to Landmark and they said the transmission pan gasket was brittle and leaking, $550.00 to replace the gasket and pan. What?? The transmission pan and gasket were fine when I took it in and it was not leaking, now it is pouring fluid out due to a brittle gasket?? They also state you have to replace the pan because they damage them when prying them off the transmission. But hey they won't charge me for the labor - gee thanks - I talked to the the general manager (Nick Short), the best he could do was "well, if you don't want the pan replaced and only replace the gasket, we can cross our fingers and reduce the parts by $113.00" Well, if you hired competent technicians, I would not need to replace anything and they should be able to remove the pan without damaging it. I will have it towed from their lot to a place that knows how to service a vehicle without damaging it and then try to have the customer pay for it at a high price. I wonder how many customers fall this line, Last time I spend any money or time at this place. read more

Just had an ASE certified mechanic tell me that the head was never replaced. Spark plugs are the original set that came with the van! Landmark is unwilling to fix the problem. Landmark lied when they stated they replaced the head on the motor! read more

This is the worst service center I have ever dealt with. I've only brought it here because of the warranty. From now on I'll take it to an honest and reputable mechanic, even if I have to pay more money. It's just not worth it to bring your vehicle to Landmark. The first time I did was for a battery and oil change. One would think it should only take a few hours. It took 2 days!!! They were so backed up on work that these more simple tasks just could not be completed on time. Now my car had another issue that I was told would be fixed within 2 days. Then the parts arrived late. Then I was told they decided to run my warranty claim for a second time for additional coverage (THAT I DID NOT ASK TO BE DONE) and pushed the start of repairs back 2 more days! All the while I'm paying for my rental out of pocket. Of course they have no loaner cars to give to help try to make this right. They won't help cover a rental. This place is of no use. They should close. I was told to file a claim through the warranty and that the manager spoke directly with a person at the company and it would be approved. Well it got denied of course. So I'm out time and money. read more

We are on our second Chrysler minivan, and the service has been completely incompetent with every visit. We purchased a new Chrysler Pacifica in late 2017 and have returned it for service 3 times. On the first occasion we came by after work and drove our van into the service area, parking inside, in front of the service desk. No one was around, so I left my keys on the seat with my name and phone number (I had already scheduled warranty service for the following morning) We came back from our family vacation a week later and realized that Landmark had never contacted us . When we called, they couldn't find our van and suggested that we hadn't dropped it off! They found it later that day on their lot with the keys on the floor. Apparently their cleaning people moved it the lot and forgot it. The next two times we've dropped the van off for service it has taken multiple attempts to get the car repaired correctly. On the second visit my wife started the van and it sprayed gas all over the engine compartment and underneath the car. On our third visit we picked the van up after repairs were performed and the front suspension was literally falling apart as we drove home. This is a car that transports my wife and children! Save yourself the frustration and use a competent dealership. read more

I have purchased 2 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overlands from here. 1st one no issues with it or service. This one several issues and service is pathetic. We had service engine light come on. They told us" it's no big deal they just come on". Seriously. So I push the issues and make them run the codes. It's the egr valve and cooler. They have my vehicle 3 weeks. Say it's fixed. Have it back less then a week. Light comes on. I call head of service. I take it right in. Only to find out they did not replace the egr cooler like they stated they did. They knew we were leaving on vacation and jacked us around. This service dept sucks. I will do different review on Landmark Ford Rentals. They were awesome. I want to warn everyone, especially if you are female, to avoid EVER working with the car sales manager, John Leepper at Landmark Jeep. This man is terrible to work with and very demeaning to women. I went in to purchase a brand new Jeep, as a very informed woman, with all of my information and very nice, paid off trade in, in hand and he was so unwilling to work with me. He had the attitude of, it has nice vanity mirrors lady and otherwise you don't need to know anything else about this vehicle. At least that is how I felt. He was unwilling to work with any compromise and was very arrogant and insulting and rude. Well, the joke was on him when I came back in and worked with the nice salesman Brian Rogers and his manager Nick and purchased a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 3 weeks later. I wasn't going to go back to Landmark Jeep but Brian had been so kind to me, so I wanted him to get the credit and the chance to have my business. When I was in signing my papers for the Jeep, the arrogant Mr. Leepper walked past me and when Brian said "John you remember Lisa?" John muttered under his mask "yea". He was still so rude and quite an ass. Also, might I mention, he didn't have an a mask on the entire time I was trying to initially buy the vehicle and he was just being so rude. I would NEVER work with this man if my life depended on it and I encourage you all to avoid him at all cost. All he wants to do is brag about how long he has been in the business while insulting an educated woman's intellect. I feel he doesn't like working with women and found me to be a waste of his time. Please do NOT work with this man in the future, as it will only feed his inflated and self made ego. He needs to be educated and have some training on how to treat people with respect and dignity. I took my jeep in last week for an oil change and explained that I seen a bit of antifreeze on my garage floor and ask them to check that out. Later that day I received a phone call from the service department and they stated that I need a new radiator replacement and upon inspection found front cover leaking. The price to get it fixed was $1,923.92. So I decided to get another opinion and took it to a different place. The new place said that only the radiator was leaking and there price was $736.00. Landmark Chrysler Jeep was going to rip me off for over $1,000 dollars. I will never trust them or ever buy another vehicle from them. read more

I made an appointment to have some recall maintenance done by their service department. I was told it would take 3 - 4 hrs. They called about an hour later and said, after inspection, it did need the part and they would order it. What? The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website says nothing about an inspection. It states the recalled item should be repaired, replaced or the price refunded. So basically, I lost money taking time off work and they didn't even have the part in stock. Unprofessional. Is it just because I was getting recall work done or do they treat their paying customers like this as well? read more

Buying our new jeep here was easy, low stress and fun. Tyler (our salesman) was very helpful and informative without being pushy. He provided great customer service even after the sale, scheduling a follow up appointment to teach us about all the technology on the jeep (which is a lot!) and to make sure we had everything set up the way we wanted. Brought my Jeep Cherokee in for service when I heard a noise in the front end. They told me my strut was bad and after they replaced it they would need to do a front end alignment. Told it would be done by 5pm well 2 days later they still have it and it 5:30 the day after it was supposed to be done. Now I'm told they don't have a part so they will have to put in an old part and it will be another hour. Guess I don't get a front end alignment after all. Never again will I come to landmark Jeep for service I would rather pay to have it fixed elsewhere even though it's under warranty. STAY AWAY!!! Well it's now 26 hours after the time I was told it would be ready to go. Still waiting, let me say again STAY AWAY from Landmark service dealership. Just got an update new master technician came in to redo job as the strut on a brand new Jeep won't go in straight. So I'll be here for a few more hours 4 more. read more

The Jeep service team at Landmark is amazing! They went above and beyond to help us when our Jeep almost lost a tire on the interstate while passing thru Springfield on May 27. We had one lug nut holding the tire on. They actually jumped in a car and came to us along the road side. Cody managed to secure the tire well enough to slowly drive it to the dealership so it could be lifted and examined. Meanwhile, the service manager stayed by the side of the road with our travel trailer awaiting their tow truck! They fixed the wheel, checked all the other lug nuts/tires and even corrected a brake caliper that had been installed improperly by a dealer in Austin, TX. We were on the road again shortly, after they hooked our camper back up to our Jeep. I can't say enough about how kind, considerate and thorough both Cody and the service manager were. Customer service (and for a non customer) like I've never seen. These gentlemen are to be commended! read more

I have purchased 4 vehicles from landmark 3 being brand new in the last 10 years. One of the last vehicles I have purchased was a new 2012 Jeep Patriot, worst car I have ever owned. After having it 2 1/2 years it started to leak from the roof in the back. It took me going over there 4 times to actually have it supposedly fixed. Well of course it was winter and it doesn't rain and I keep my vehicle cleaned off when it snows. Then it rains and I think the first time it leaks again that the tailgate isn't secured. Come to find out it wasn't fixed properly. So they fix it for me again free of charge and I am told it was the sun roof which I think wow they screwed up and they are taking care of the problem. But now it leaks even worse than before. I have taken it in multiple time to be told it was the same problem time and time again that they have fixed. So not only does it leak from the back it now leaks from the sun roof, the front dome light and the bar next to the passenger door frame and leaves my passenger floor bed soaked. I have tears from them messing with my head liner and sunroof, lovely greasy finger prints from their fingers and more water stains on the head liner. I will never again buy another vehicle from their company or will let anyone I know buy from there. read more

Torn here, love the service department and detail department. I came to buy a used car and everything was going good until the paper work. They have a "fee" called safeguard. Which every car they get, they etch the glass for prevention of future car theft. That's fine and dandy but don't force feed it to consumer. They said I would make the fee back in savings from insurance..No, you don't is the short answer. I should have stopped and walked out of finance room but wife liked the car. Bought an 08 Sebring convertible and the top malfunctioned and they refuse to honor the warranty then when confronted about it, they laugh in my face and dare me to find someone to agree with me. if i could rate them less than a 0 i would. my whole experience was horrific. i went to buy a car was told i was approved paid my down payment purchase insurance. after that i got a text and calls all sorts of the day constantly asking me to bring to bring more information. this went on for 45 days. every time i would bring in one thing they would ask for something else. come to find out that the finance guy lied about several different things to the finance company. so when i talked to the finance company the information did not add up so they decided not to finance me. landmark asked me to return the car. i asked for my down payment to be returned to me. the next day they came to my job repoed the car and kept my down payment and said that it was for rental fees. i will share my story until i die because this was a very stressful experience. read more
