But, we had an excellent experience. We have had liberty mutual home insurance since 2005. They are the only company who will insure our home because it was built in 1850. They are also the most reasonable insurers. This incident was the first home loss claim we have filed. A tree fell on our house on a Saturday. We called emergency tree service first and then Liberty mutual. On Tuesday morning, the adjuster, Will, came to the house to inspect. He was very professional and understanding. He cut us a check on the spot for 1/3 of our policy limit. He added the tree service to his system so he could pay them directly, taking stress off of us. It took a while for us to find legitimate contractors. Once we did, I sent three estimates to Will. He reviewed them. I told him we were ready to start the work. Within three days, he stopped by our house with a check for the balance. On top of that all, he forgave our $1000 deductible because the garage ended up being way more expensive to replace than anyone could have guessed. My experience with Liberty Mutual has been nothing but excellent. He responded to phone calls and emails in a timely manner. I never felt abandoned or stranded throughout this entire process. Our rates only went up about $60 a year, which is nothing.

We moved from US Bank after getting nickel and dime on a monthly basis and extremely poor customer service. We read about ECU, came in to talk to them and walked out with our accounts set up. Friendly, outgoing and accommodating customer service each and every time we go there for whatever reason. We have multiple savings, checking and home improvement loan here and now most recently a short approval process to get a pre-approved auto loan in a few hours. We were then able to better shop for a car. I was also there to help my oldest build credit, working with a rep and asked if it was possible to have him order me new checks and he went in and did that within 30 seconds instead of pushing it off to someone else. What we like best is one of their programs. Debit and credit card holders can earn reward points. Every dollar we charge on our debit/credit card: Debit card "credit" transactions = 1 point for every $2 spent Credit card "credit" transactions = 1 point for every $1 spent Redeem points for discounts and promotions on Educators products and services, cash back, gift cards, air travel, and more. We use our points for hotel stays and take side trips with the kids. I can't stress enough how exceptional the customer service is. He did two and said that we would have to file an extension for the third return and that he would complete it before the October deadline. Come October, we still had not heard from them so I called. Again he seemed to have forgotten that he had promised to do them, and promised to complete the return in time. After not hearing anything AGAIN at the end of November (and now past the extension deadline) I had to call and leave several messages both at the office and on his cell phone, none of which he returned. Now well into December, I finally contacted him at his office and he promises to finish the return. He presents the attitude that it is not an issue that he has forgotten to fulfill his promise and that missing deadlines for filing taxes is no big deal. This is not the standard of accountability that you should tolerate from professional accountants.

Very unprofessional. I was told that a COO or President would be contacting me back. That follow up did not happen. Since my original inquiry on the file, the updates have been slow (contact them on Monday and they respond on Wednesday) and the file has still not been sent to USDA..... This is the least sense of urgency of any lending company I have dealt with. Even at crunch time there is no increase in focus on the file. No ownership - lack of communication. Apparent lack of follow up - poor file review - I guess they don't know what the underwriter is going to ask for and it is customary for the file to be sent to underwriting review multiple times - each with a 48 hour review time. I am guessing they do not have their own underwriters and are at the mercy of some 3rd party to do their underwriting. - This is a horrible experience. Have you ever been in a parking lot waiting to back out of your parking stall? Do you know how you feel when a pedestrian is walking behind you and you are stuck. Most pedestrians realize that you are waiting on them so they put a little pep in their step for the appropriate period of time. You really don't mind waiting for those people because there is a shared sense of cooperation. And how do you feel when the people walking behind your car walk slower or take the longest route possible when they see that you are waiting on them? It is frustrating because they clearly know that you are imprisoned in this parking space until they move. You are at their mercy and they clearly do not care about your goals. This is how I feel working with GSF. They know they are holding up multiple closings on a stacked (domino) closing and yet their process has become even slower. I wouldn't use them for any file where you feel like your buyers would want to close on time. I wouldn't let a buyer use them on any house you have listed just to protect your seller from this mess.

In the past I had shopped online as well as in the city for my insurance needs. Some friends have recommended that I watch various youtube presentations to help in understanding all the ins and outs. It is exhausting. Just when I thought I was set with my Medicare Supplement a friend recommended I talk to Mike Johnson at FHK Insurance in Glendale. Reluctantly, I called him yesterday and started by saying "I only want a Supplement". He asked "why" and we had a conversation which led to a visit to their office on the very same day. I can only say that he knew everything there is to know about healthcare, and he made what is very complicated, very simple. As hard as it is believe, it is true. This man explained everything in a language that was so easy to understand and lowered my premium from $127.00 to $0 a month showing me that I was needlessly overpaying. He took all the stress out of Medicare and everything connected to it. He said that if there were any issues along the way after my enrollment, just to call him and he will take care of it. The only thing better about this is if I had talked to him several years ago. He is a young man who has been in the insurance for twenty years, and there is no better in the field.
