Went to Landpro in Clarence NY for a warranty issue on my 2 year old S170 tractor still under warranty ... Had trouble with carburetor RPM surging up and down ... Since it was under warranty I did not want to attempt to mess with carburetor or jets ... Was told it would take up to 4 weeks , backlogged , spoke to Joe telling me he would try to put a rush on it .... Get Email 3 days later telling me I need a new carburetor and cost would be $650.00 I freaked out writing I payed $3500.00 for the whole tractor , jets must be dirty , does not need a whole carburetor.. Spoke to service manager Ron and told him my issue , told me he would look into it ... 2 days later called me told me it's done ... Went there did not know what I was going to get into ? I know I would take the tractor back myself and fix it if I had to ... But was not paying a dime ? After going into Ron's office had a conversation , he told me that people come in all the time claiming warranty warranty but warranty covers only malfunctioning parts like cracked mower deck or faulty battery, alternator or solenoid , a piece of tractor that is defective ... After that conversation he said listen , we will take the hit on this 1but I then became aware and learned about warranty and what they encompass , Ron is an admiral man and gave me the time I needed and information I needed without any charge even though I did not purchase my John Deere from Landpro ... This says a lot for this business and in the future is just the right reason I would consider buying a new piece of equipment from them ... read more

Sadly while I wish I could provide suggestions for improvement my sense is that the organization is fundamentally not customer centric. Maybe its Deere's uncompetitive reguonal structure itself but sad nonetheless I was in the market for a specific tractor and they had one coming in a couple months at another one of their locations . I wanted to buy it cash and asked them to put my name on it. After days of hemming and hawing on the phone they went dark. When I called back the sales team said they sold it yesterday, several days after i asked to buy. While i was disappointed that they treated me like that i began reading their service reviews and realized this probably was a blessing in disguise. Horrible reviews. Gotta question the deere lock on territory, no competition and lack of customer choice. Adios deere. read more

Worked with Justin on buying a new Electric z370r. He was super easy to work with. Kept in contact through out the whole process and was able to get me a fair trade for my old mower. Since it was spring and they were quite busy he was able to make sure I got the new mower by the end of the week so I could get the grass cut before circumstances wouldn't allow for me to get to the lawn for a few weeks. I bought a small Honda mower from Drake 9 years ago. It's started up on one pull every time. Since I've hit a few logs and rocks over the years, I figured I should bring it in for some general maintenance. As well intentioned as I was, I couldn't get it there during the off-season. I knew that early May was a busy time for them, and I was told it would take two weeks or so. I was willing to wait - the ground is too wet to mow anyways. I got a call one week later that the mower was ready to be picked up. In the few interactions that I've had, I've always found the staff to be knowledgeable and friendly. I was sold the right mower, and it has performed very well. They have s huge selection of riders and walkers, as well as chain saws and other equipment. They are among the best around. I purchased a Honda self propelled mower at Drake a few years ago and viewing good reviews about t he Honda mower. It hasn't been a decent machine for me a all. Always hard to start,the bagger works well,but the cheap knob to select mulch aspect brake off. Needed a carb replacement two years ago,I was ok with that. The unit ran intermitantly last season. This season it wont start at all,took it to Drake for service, some clerk called and said they don't know what is wrong. Mentioned the broken cheap knob for the mulch feature and said the blades where bad,plus the unit was not takken care ofSince when does a broken knob and poor blades cause a no start condition???? The wizzard that called me and said they started the unit but it goes to a very high idle. Said they adjusted the govenor. Asked me what I wanted to do with it. I thought they where supposed to tell me what it needed,guess Im wrong. He said maybe we can replace the carb but it was to me???????? Thats a service response. I have never been talked down to so rudely by a store clerk in my 73 year. Plus was told it was bad gas,for course they left the "bad gas in it" DUH That bad gas was used in a Cub Cadet tractor,a Poulan mower,and old power washer that is used every other year, and also a 15 year old Homelite leaf blower. Had read several online reviews were somewhat negative. But I decided I would take a chance and walk in looking for a new mower. Ron creates me almost immediately and took a significant amount of time answering my multitude of questions. He was patient, kind and insightful. The particular mower I purchased is also available at the big boxes. However, because of my interactions in the showroom and with Ron, I bought the mower from Drake. On the day of delivery, I could not be present at home. I had called and asked for them to just drop it off in the driveway. My 18 year old son was home and ended up taking delivery. The delivery person from Drake walked him through the mechanics of the machine and particular nuances of driving a zero-turn. My son told me he was a great guy and took a lot of time with him. Stopped here to buy some parts for my John Deere lawn tractor and ended up purchasing some other lawn and gardening equipment. The prices were average but what mattered to me the most is that they service and stock parts for everything they sell. The sales staff was very engaging and knowledgeable to what specific equipment holds up the best for the application and mission since they sell and interact with a large number of commercial landscapers and lawn care companies who provide vital feedback. After my purchase they took the time to thoroughly train me on the safe and proper use of my new purchases. The important objective barring price is to find a company that services and provides full support to what they sell. Drakes does and since this company has been established for many years, they are not going anywhere anytime soon. read more

I bought my Snowblower from Drake and their eagerness to sell one to me is the only reason I gave them a 2. about 5 years later when it broke. I wanted to et to them for repair. I own a small car so I needed it picked up. They wanted to charge me I believe $25 each way endnote even pit it toward fixing it. so I finally found a friend that was able to bring it over for me. Then they said it would cost more to repair then what it was worth and asked me I would like to look at new one. My friend who helped me out told me he has a guy who can throw new engine on it for $100. We brought it over to his house. It did not need a new engine. I told Drake that was able to get it fixed. this was their response "That's great that you were able to have it fixed so reasonable. Thank you for letting me know. What part did he replace. We thought it had a broken connecting rod? I suppose we possibly could have Miss diagnosed it and if so we apologize" I responded this was the response from text. "I never saw an engine lock up like this. Good news is you did not break anything. There are not any bad scratches in the cylinder and the piston rings are still good. I had to take the head off then used a wood block and hammer. Tapped it 2 times. heard it make a click noise. After that put a pipe wrench on the SH (not sure what that is) and it was able to move again. It started right up. oil was not even dirty" i gave the guy $100 and he delivered back to my house. I thought it was important to tell Drake so I emailed them and this was the response "That is all well and good but we have to guarantee our work and if an engine is seized to free it up is nothing we could guarantee. It's fine for a backyard shop but not for a business. Hope it stays running for you" I will not use them ever again for service. read more

I find it hard to imagine but this dealer does not seem to need anyone's business. I attempted to purchase a tractor, but the owner was not interested in helping me do this, stating that the sales guy was out of town and to try back the next week. I called Z&M in north collins, where they had my tractor ordered and financed at 0% within a day. Well worth the drive to a real Deere dealer, not just a lawn mower shop. read more

if i could put a negative number i would. purchased a john deere s120 lawn tractor mower last june 2021. first cut of the year out of storage, filled with gallon of gas, couple passes around small front yard and engine died. started it again, ran another pass engine died again. tried to start it again. upon opening engine compartment clearly no gas was entering the gas filter to the engine. called home depot and was informed that drake lawn and garden is the place to go for warranty repairs. i took it there and told them that it seems to be fuel pump issue and they had already told me it was probably bad gas without even looking at it and i would be responsible. i asked them to please look at it since its covered under warranty. they called me to come get the tractor and informed me that there was no gas in it (which was not true), they said they started it up and said nothing was wrong. they charged me 85.85. back home, started the mower and it did the same thing it did which was to stop running. i called Drake back and they informed me that all they did was run in place and it was 'fine' and that was all they did because the grass was 'wet' and they could not do a practice run..they did not test the mower. i was told i am responsible for this payment but i could bring it back in. Basically implying that i am lying about the gas. i am a senior citizen and know how to run a lawn mower. this mower has 10 hours on it. i am back to square one minus $85 dollars. DO NOT TAKE YOUR EQUIPMENT TO DRAKE LAWN AND GARDEN. read more
