The roughness of my yard indicates there was little, if any, preparation. I am supposed to have fescue grass but there are other grasses mixed in, as well as plenty of weeds and crab grass. Some of the grass was in clumps. They did not roll the grass so it would make good contact with the ground, as good installers do. (Four of the five installers I have observed in my development rolled the grass after laying it down). Instead, they turned the sprinklers on to 20 minute cycles three times a day. That drowned three new trees and some of the grass. I have been watering, pulling weeds and crabgrass for two months now and much of my yard is still a mess.

This is normally something I would have done myself, but due to time constraints I needed to hire a company. I was quoted $90/hr + parts. Seemed reasonable for a quick job. The tech was a great guy and made quick work of the repair. I was really happy with the completed job. That was until the invoice came over at just under $400. I was shocked when I saw the price and thought it might have been a mistake, so I asked for an itemized copy of the parts. Turns out it was not a mistake, they just mark up their parts by 400%-600%. I understand the business side and marking up parts... I am completely okay with that. However price gouging to this extent is pretty excessive. Sprinkler valve box at $40 each.. and small waterproof wire splices at $5 each is absolute robbery. The tech did a great job with the repair. I was happy with the work done, but I paid a PREMIUM for it. Just be aware of this before you have them complete any work for you.

Poor/non-existent customer service. 2020 This company was…read moreproviding service in my neighborhood and I was recovering from a couple herniated discs in my back so I called and used them for the 2020 Spring/Summer season. $40 per mow for my medium size lawn that takes them less than 5mins to mow. Signing on was fine but response to my communications was slow and I often had to call or email multiple times to pay my bill each month. I was told Covid had pulled Rachelle away for child care meaning Rob was left to manage the business so everything was happening slowly. The mowing itself wasn't great but it was getting done. The team followed the same exact pattern every week they mowed which formed ruts in my lawn. I've never used a lawn service before so chalked it up as part of this being a basic-level, relatively low-cost service. Then the lawn care team mowed a hose that was in my backyard and didn't tell me. Just shredded it multiple times and without skipping a beat kept going. When I called the office and left a message Rachelle called me back and was apologetic, offering to reimburse me for hose. I told her that wasn't the point but instead I was concerned they had damaged my property and not bothered to tell me. I was assured that wasn't acceptable and not the level of service they normally provide and that they would talk to the team member. In June I asked them to raise the deck on their mowers because they were scalping parts of my lawn completely killing the grass. No reply. They advertised they could do additional services like verticutting, aerating, and fall cleanup so I left a message requesting a fall cleanup. No reply and i didn't know if it was actually going to happen until they just showed up one day and did it without letting me know to expect them (so I could lock my dog door to keep my 4 dogs inside). They blew a ton of leaves underneath my large deck up against the house attracting a varmint who nested there and into the window wells. I had to roust the varmint and clean the window wells out after they were done. Not okay. I had paid them over $100 to take care of of the leaves and instead I spent hours finishing the hardest parts of the job. I was waiting to receive the bill to call and complain. However, two things stopped me. First, I didn't get a bill until the following spring. Second, this company had proved they're working on a shoestring and that my opinions about their poor service didn't matter. I emailed to discontinue service in October and asked to settle up my bill. The mowing stopped but I didn't get a reply or the final bill until the following spring (2021). Yes, I got an invoice 5-6 months after my final service which was the fall cleanup. 2021 - I recovered from my back injury and enjoyed the Spring/Summer season of yard care on my own. We're approaching fall now and this company has a team that still mows 3 of my neighbor's lawns. I know this because they park the company truck and equipment trailer in front of my house every week even though I'm not a client. A couple weeks ago the team pulled up as usual and parked on the street directly in front of my house which reminded me I had intended to call to see if they could finish up the season for me. So I called the office and left a voicemail asking if the team that is right here, right now could include my lawn which takes them less than 5mins to mow. No response. Not wanting to lose this opportunity, I stood outside in the cold and waited until the team was done mowing my neighbor's lawns then asked a team member if they could do my lawn since they were already there. I got a blatant smirk and a rude no, pretty sure we're not taking on new clients. I thanked him and went back inside. I called the office and expressed my dismay at the rude treatment. It was uncalled for. No reply to either call. Today the team was back and mowing my neighbor's lawn and parked in front of my house, walking through my lawn to do it. I asked them not to walk through my yard. They agreed then did it anyway. These guys are just completely rude and tone deaf. Overall, I'm frustrated with the poor customer service of this company. Covid was an excuse that I accepted that for a year. But I think this is the new normal for this company and it just doesn't work for me. So neither do they.
