They were friendly, explaining the process and offering suggestions on the type of jewelry given where you were planning to wear it. Also explained their warranty--jewelry is covered should it break or should you need to have it taken off for surgery or something. If you are not nearby you can work it out to ship to them and they'd even put a clasp on it so you could wear. Based on experience of another place that we have been to for permanent jewelry that broke, this warranty is awesome! Easy process of getting the jewelry put on. Cost me $202 for 1 anklet (sterling silver) with a charm and 1 bracelet ( rose gold) with 2 charms. This is cheaper than what I paid before at another place when we were in Hawaii. When I buy a warranty on something it's because I either know it's prone to breaking due to usage (I've been made aware) or because I know I am prone to accidents. Neither of which was the case with a chain I bought at the suggestion of a People's employee based on my description of what I needed/was looking for. No where in my brain did I think, oh this thing is going to randomly break just outside the return window (60 days) in less than 3 months and will stop working as advertised so I should buy a warranty for half the price of the item on top of my purchase price in case it's a bad product.... It is extremely disappointing and disheartening to have brand trust in a company and a person who sells you something, just be completely wiped away when the product was clearly designed to break outside the return window and they turn to you with generic corporate jargon when you bring it into the store, in other words the company basically says "sucks to be you" should have paid more for a bad item at the start because we don't have the confidence in our own products to include any product lemon understanding without you having bought a warranty with your bad product purchase. The logic of having to ALWAYS pay extra at the start because their products are THAT bad - it astonishing to me. But that's what People's stands by when you ask them for any understanding - it's complete corporate coldness. Full Story: When I bought my chain I explained to the store clerk that I'm buying this chain for a pendant and plan to wear it every day, in the shower as well, I explained all this and she sold me a study box chain design with adjustable size and a little heart pendant on the end. Within 2 months, the adjustable part got loose - which I was never warned could happen. But I was away working on a cruise ship and could not return it at the time. And the little heart on the end just broke off one day before I'd had it for even 3 months when going to use it normally. When I arrived in store to see what they could do, I was met with generic corporate rehearsed answers. The chain cost more to repair than buying a new one, and even if I bought a new one, I'd still have to pay more for the protection plan on the new one - they still wouldn't include the protection plan. Absolutely the most disheartening and dishonest jewelry sale I have ever experienced. Do NOT buy from People's.
