The kids section is incredible and offers tons of play and learning opportunities. It's like a full play place but free and clean and quiet. We used the printing which worked seamlessly and checked out 12 books for our child. There were several librarians able to help, study rooms and a maker space. I cannot say enough about how huge, beautiful, and clean this branch is-- and how many resources are inside for all to enjoy! Love the CHPL so much.

They have tons of flexible seating, including several booths and I believe 4 private study rooms. There are plenty desktop computers available, even some in the children's section. The children's section has a nice little play area. The bathrooms are well maintained, free feminine hygiene products available and a changing table. They have a Makerspace, copy/fax/scan center, several self-checkout kiosks, and a laptop checkout kiosk. I personally love all the natural light from the floor to ceiling windows. They also have a few monthly book clubs and several kids events.

But they got it together on large print and it's now not near the floor where the visually impaired probably couldn't see it very well. But now there are these stupid, hard chairs with tables next to the door instead of soft chairs. These are fine for rooms. Nooks. Other areas. Where you need quiet to do stuff. But when I'm by the door, I'm waiting on someone. I imagine parents and other people are, too. It stinks as these chairs hurt my back and hips. I can't imagine with the traffic flow they're great for studying, either. I hope they rethink this structure. It's not person friendly. And it's such a nice place.

So I know the library isn't responsible for these things BUT the odds are pretty high that you can exit out the back, books in hand and walk directly out onto the cute little park with water features, statues and bridges and happen upon a farmer's market or a band playing or something else going on. That's happened to me several times by accident and I sat down to read feeling like Belle in Beauty and the Beast or something (You can probably google what days things are happening at the park if you don't want to leave it up to chance). If you're there when nothing's going on fear not! Out the back door there are benches and tables with overhanging vines and classical music piped through outdoor speakers they've kindly set up. You may be thinking, What?! Have I been transported to some fancy European park?! Nope, you're in Fairfield, but pack a picnic or some coffee and you sure can pretend because I've never seen anything like that at another library and I think it's amazing. Anyways, ahem, about the library: The best part is that all their items are free and they have a good and ever expanding collection of the newest and greatest books. You can check out books, DVDs, magazines, CDs, electronic books, books on CD and probably stuff I'm not even aware of. If you need to use a computer they have a large selection too and that is off to the side so they aren't blocking the books or anything like at other libraries. The kid's section is nice and separated from the adult's collection in a different room. It's adorable, has a good selection of materials, some educational toys in the middle, a separate staff member, and some tables to do fun things like draw and read. If you can't make it inside, for whatever reason, you can order your books ahead of time, the library will notify you when they are ready for pick up, and you can either pick them up inside at the counter OR use their convenient drive-thru window. The drive-thru is perfect if you are sick, short on time, you have an addiction to books and can't trust yourself to not check out EVERY BOOK that looks amazing (there should be a bookaholics anonymous), you have wailing infants or you just really enjoy the novelty of a drive-thru window at a library. Also!!! They always have some fun and free events going on. Lots for kids and babies but also for adults too. I happened to stumble upon their Fall kid's day and they had games, a hay ride around the park, a band, apple cider and free mini pumpkins to decorate. I didn't realize any of the Cincinnati library locations were open on Sundays. This is a game…read morechanger. We were unable to attend a performance by the Know Theater at our local branch. Our local librarian informed us that there were a few additional preferences still to come. She gave me a flyer, and highly recommended we check it out. The final preferences was at the Sharonville branch... on a Sunday. At first I though it was a misprint. Not only did we get to enjoy the preferences, we got to check out another branch. We interacted with two employees during our visit. The first directed us to the meeting room the preference was being held in. We were directed with a smile. Once in the meeting room, another librarian welcomed us, and informed us of upcoming library events. Along with the usual selection of books, this branch also has several meeting rooms. As any branch in the Cincinnati Public Library system, books may be transferred from any other branch to the branch of your choosing. The library is located next to the Sharonville Community Center, and across from a park.

This facility is neat and clean, kept well oragnized no matter what joe patron does to their precious order. The chairs are comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful. The stacks are full and begging to be used. Don't forget your library card.

I frequent several libraries... my fav is the Franklin but come to the Middletown and miamisburg (…read moreDayton) sometimes. The staff are nice at all. If I put something on hold at all 3 ... I will get it faster from Franklin and slowest from Miamisburg (Dayton) but sometimes the bigger libraries have something my little Franklin library doesn't. Middletown library isn't in the best neighborhood not sure how the other branches are ... id bet nicer. Most always see several homeless and sketchy people outside and around the entrance. I smells of pot are likely. Once a saw a huge roach there after I set my audiobook on their chair. Made me never sit on their chair again. I came at night once yo drop off things that were due and had a bad experience a man tried to car jack me but I got away. It was obviously last time I went near it at night. They do sometimes have a security guard inside but at Franklin I feel safer and never had bad experience.

The price to reserve the shelter was only $20 and they had a lot of availability. Try that budget at a Winton Woods shelter!! Not happening. I had to go on a dreaded Saturday to renew and get an updated driver's license because I was flying…read moreout of town that afternoon. I wanted to make sure I had the proper documents, (and if TSA would really accept an expired license because there was no way to find out from the airport.) But when I called the BMV the day before, whoever answered wasn't sure. When I tried to call back before going many times, no one ever answered the phone. Of course Saturday is crazy busy, with parking even hard to find. I'd recommend going on a weekday. The system for waiting was very efficient, with a machine to enter your cell so you'd be texted, as well as your line number displayed up on a monitor when ready. I only waited 15 minutes, which wasn't bad considering the crowd. The driver's license renewal went smoothly. I guess there's some kind of system back up, because my license had to be mailed out 4-6 weeks later. They gave me a print out of it I could use wherever needed. There was major confusion though over our handicapped hang tag. They'd given us one with a wrong number on it previously and told us to come back in for a new one (in a handwritten letter.) The clerks asked for the letter, which we didn't have. They decided after talking it out amongst themselves in front of us that our current tag is fine. I really hope so! I was also able to register to vote and change my address at this bureau. Tips: they take cash, credit or check. This bureau also does title transfers and title service, has a notary service and many other services.
