How fun is this place! The location is less than desirable because it's a bit hidden, but trust me, it's worth being sought out! I came on a Wednesday night, and had an absolute blast! I was surprised too, because it was packed! I believe it was kids night until 7 pm and then adult leagues from 7 - 9 pm. Either way, I bowled 2 games ($4.50 per game), and enjoyed 2 yummy drinks made with moonshine for $4 each, you can't beat that! It wasn't crowded and uncomfortable. I didn't feel rushed to bowl like it is in some alleys. It was just relaxed, and most importantly, FUN! The staff was very knowledgeable and exceptionally friendly! There are tons of flyers laying around with great deals and future events. I wasn't in the mood to play any of the arcade games, nerf ball, or bumper cars, but everyone playing seemed to be having a good time. I was going to play pool, but after bowling, I was so tired lol - The price for pool is pretty decent though, $10 per hour. Overall, I'll definitely be back! read more

This center is the best! We have been here a few times in the past few days and each time has been great! The front desk staff is very helpful. They were true to their hours and never tried to push us out early, even though after league play one night we were the only ones there. The prices are decent. Lanes are clean and well maintained. Food was good and priced fairly. They do have a nice arcade as well. If you are a more technical bowler looking to understand and improve your game, they offer SPECTO at this center and were very accommodating for us to use the service on a couple occasions, even though there were technical difficulties on the first day. The lane systems let you set up and practice custom spare leaves utilizing MyShot as well. Only other feature they could add would be Lanetalk, which very few centers in the area have. Had a great time at our office Christmas party here. The facility is much larger than it looks on the outside. There are bowling lanes, of course, but also a food area, game machines, bar (with more bowling lanes for adults only!), and party rooms. The food was simple, pizzas, lasagna, salad and a cheesecake for dessert. I heard we picked the "Italian package" so there may be other options like "Chinese package" or "Southern package". The lanes are in great condition; no mechanical issues, computers worked great, balls are in good condition. After a certain hour, the regular lights went out and the black lights came on in the bowling area. They had a good selection of draught and bottled beer, a regular bar and specialty drinks. All of the lanes were filled on Friday night; I could hear the announcer announcing when lanes were open for people who had been waiting. Since it was a hosted party, I have no idea how much games etc are. Domestic brews were $2.50 but went down to $2.00 at 8pm (including Amber Bock!). I had a great time and will return. Lanes Trains and Automobiles is a fantastic place to go if you are looking for a good fun time. I went there with a friend only anticipating on playing a couple games of bowling. We were in for much more than we thought. We did start with bowling, but we didn't have bowling shoes so we had to rent them. Jackson, my friend, asked for a pair of size 17s. But here's the thing, he is nowhere near a size 17. He's more of a 12. He thinks a big shoe makes him look more cool. But here's a little secret. There is about a third of a roll of Bounty quicker picker upper in each shoe to make up for the missing space. It's so dumb. So so so so so so so so so dumb. My god you should have seen the looks people were giving him when he came out of the bathroom with handfuls of paper towels and stuffed them into his clown shoes. After a couple games, we noticed a pool table and decided that would be fun. Before we went, we had to turn our bowling shoes in. I've never seen an eyebrow raise like the worker who saw my friend take his foot out of a shoe that was twice as long. It got quiet. It got so quiet that my friend decided not to dig out the paper towels but to give the shoes back as is and get the hell out of there. The pool tables were great and in nice quality with a fair rate. We played a couple games and had no complaints. Nearby was a karaoke stage that got the better of us and we decided to end the night that way. We sung three songs but had to cut the last one short because my friend could see the bowling attendant removing gobs of paper towels from his humongous shoes. He got really red and embarrassed and left. I don't know why he still does this if this is how he acts when people find out what's really going on. I think that's part of the kink. This was my first time coming to lanes trains and automobiles. Me and my pal Patrick decided to start with some bowling and it was really cool, they even did a dark theme with black lights and everything. This might sound weird but after a few frames I noticed a certain smell on my fingers. It was from the bowling balls, i could tell that they had been very good about cleaning them regularly, it smelled really good actually hahaha! After bowling we decided to play pool at in the "vip lounge". It was a really good vibe, and after a while that captivating smell still lingered on all of my stubby digits. It got to the point where I was too distracted by the smell to hit any good billiard shots, I mean, this smell was REALLY good. They had karaoke as well which we did a few songs on. I had to excuse myself about halfway through a Conway Twitty song to go back to the lanes and grab a few more intoxicating whiffs of the finger holes. At this point I think people began to notice, but I really didn't mind the attention at this point. I just kept a hefty 12 pounder by my side and took deep inhales whenever I saw fit. We didn't order any food but it looked pretty good and the atmosphere was super friendly. I'll likely never wash my hands again to try and preserve the aroma for as long as possible from now on. We have been there twice since COVID-19. They were sanitizing balls and not letting others play in the same lane where balls pass over the same areas as each other. They separated in lanes where others where in social distancing to protect you from getting too close. You wear your mask in but while bowling if you choose you can take it off but if you go gt a drink you put it back on. We will always go back to Lanes Trains and Automobile to bowl and play games We compared Lanes Trains and Automobiles to Strikes and Spares the next day. It is the new bowling alley who moved from the Broad street area to the old Sears building in the mall. It was no compare. Half the people there had no mask, the workers had their mask down over their nose. They put people next to you so it was easy to get balls mixed up and rarely did I see them wiping balls down. I brought my own clorox wipes. We will not be going back I believe the name was STRIKES and SPARES. They were very unprofessional. read more

I don't like giving reviews like this. One star is generous honestly. We have been to this place before and honestly it wasn't the worst but now... omg. It's not worth the gas to get there. There are no bumper cars or trains whatever the heck that means in their name of the business. The arcade is sad to walk around having the prizes mostly empty if the game works at all. The staff was really rude and you could tell they didn't care. The bowling was probably the most annoying bowling I've ever experienced. The lanes didn't register you threw the ball until five bowling balls later and omg... a strike registers after you knock all the pins over, have the ball get stuck and push all the pins out of the gutters with the bowling balls. After telling staff all of this to see what they would do they acted like they already knew and didn't care. Not worth $27 for one game with no refund. Sad excuse for a bowling alley. When we went the day after we called they said," its under construction." we highly doubt that because that would be there 4th time doing "construction" in the last year. The bowling lanes are too close together, great place to bring your kids, terrible place for your friends or a date. You'll get rude entitled mom's cussing you out but, if you still decide that you're going to bring a date or a couple friends to go bowling with here, just make sure you get a lane away from any moms that are out with their kids. read more

I came here for a work event so everything was paid for and we received a card to use on whatever we want. That being said this review is not really based on price. This place was packed on a Thursday night so that says a lot. We had a private room to ourselves so we weren't in the hustle of everyone else. Our room came with bowling, bumper cars, laser tag, fountain drinks and pizza. I used my card to get alcoholic drinks. The card had $10 on in and got be 3 drinks with the basic liquor. Please remember you have to tell them basic liquor or they will give you top shelf and $10 will only get you one drink. Part of my reason for the 4 rating is because of this. They give you top shelf unless you tell them not to and the price is really different from the "basic". The other part is because the pizza was just okay. Honestly not something I'd pay for but way better than Chucky cheese pizza. It's your typically bowling alley pizza. Laser tag was really fun! I felt like my gun wasn't always working right but to be honesty is was probably the operator... me. It was gray though and their staff was very nice! If I had to pick from LTA and Dave and Busters for a fun place to take my kids I'd pick LTA but I'd eat somewhere else first. read more

The games suck. Half of them are broken/out of service. The games that are in service don't work properly and are expensive. The games range from $1-$3 per play. This place is an outright SCAM. I played a claw machine and the claw didn't even close until it went back up all the way. Th giant claw machine is messed up also...when you drop the claw it outright moves to the side. Half of the prize redemption games are practically empty. And the prizes are garbage. I got a ball out of the giant claw machine and it was dirty and slimy. We asked to trade for one that's not dirty and they said that's the way they come...they do not come that way, I have so many from other game rooms and they do not come slimy. I got the jackpot on one machine and it didn't finish paying my tickets, it said "maximum payout"....if your not gonna pay out the tickets then don't have that amount for a jackpot. If you collect tickets there's barely any prizes to choose from. It's all cheap crap with high ticket prices. The shelves are bare. None of the games are worth playing and all of the prizes are garbage. This place is a giant waste of money. Even though I used to live in M'boro, I had never been here before until I came for a kid's birthday party. The parents ordered some sort of package that came with pizza, ice cream, party favors, etc. It also came with some type of coordinator/party planner, who was really just a teen/young 20-something working there. It ended up being totally disorganized. Food came out late, the coordinator didn't really help clean up, it was just really poorly planned on LTA's part. There was cosmic bowling, laser tag, lots of kids games. This place seems like it would be fun for a family or a date night but we didn't get to play the games/bowl because it was for the kids...boo :( Pizza was actually pretty good. Had a wonderful time on a Monday night (check out their Monday Night Special Deal!) with our toddlers. We arrived between 4:30-5:00, which I highly recommend when bowling with little ones as it gets more crowded as night approaches. Our 4 and 2 year old were able to bowl and enjoy the arcade area. The wings are delicious Highly recommend them. The hotdogs were gobbled by the toddlers but to me they tasted like bologna, so not the best quality, but at .50 I'm willing to let that slide. I also highly recommend the funnel fries hot and delicious. The only negative was how long it took for the food to arrive at our lane, probably due to the growing crowd. Clean facilities. Being new in town, we decided to take our family to this venue for a bowling and pizza afternoon. We used a discount for family bowling. It was a reasonably nice place, but I would definitely not go into what is called the "VIP" room again. That is where we were sent. The equipment there malfunctioned pretty regularly with pins being knocked over and not being reset correctly. Also, our lane was definitely warped. The pizza was pretty good. read more

We wanted to take the kids somewhere fun so we decided to go here. WHAT WAS I THINKING??? Maybe it was just because it was 9pm on a saturday night but still, I was not pleased! First we had to wait in line for 20 minutes just to get our name on the waiting list for a lane. So while waiting we decided to get the kids a play card and let them play games since it was going to be 30 minutes for us to bowl. The games were ok, you can tell they have been played A LOT! The food/bar area is right across from where all the games are. A fight broke out between two ADULTS and my kids witnessed the whole thing. Scared them and honestly me too. Finally, our lane was ready. They put us on a lane for unlimited bowling for 2 hours. The first 20 minutes all four of us had bowled ONE FRAME each. Yeah, because every time we would throw the ball it would get stuck, we would have to wait on the tech to fix it, then repeat the process. FINALLY, a guy, not sure if a manager or not, came over and said they have been having problems with this lane and they are going to move us. Really? You have been having problems with this lane and still place people on it? Smart move! So we get to the other lane, place all of our stuff down and ask for the bumpers to be put up for the kids. What do ya know, the lane we were on doesnt have bumpers so they once again moved us. The lane they moved us to had about 10 glasses and empty pitchers on it. They guy picked up the glasses and pitchers and walked off. No one wiped the beer covered table down for us. And no one wiped off the beer covered chair either. That is OK, my 8 year old daughters rear end soaked up the beer in the chair. Thanks! We ( the four of us ) were able to squeeze in 2 games. Upon our exit out of the building we were greeted by the back end of an ambulance with a guy in it. Lovely. Pretty crappy place in my opinion. We wont ever go back! read more

Very disappointed with this arcade. We drove about an hour for a business get together. While taking and delivering our orders, the staff seemed annoyed when they had to bring silverware and dressing for the salads. At the end of the night, I went to the arcade desk to ask if I could put $6 on our arcade card specifically for my son to play the giant claw machine ($3 a try) while the others played Lazer tag. They happily took my money and then when I went to immedietly use the card, I was told that the arcade was closed and the card could not be used. There is no reason they could not have told me I would not be able to use the machine when I went to load the card. $6 wasted and this family will not be returning or recommending this business in the future. read more

Go during their $1 per game times. Wednesday night have about an hour wait if you are there late. Get there before 7:00 and you should be okay. The place is pretty new so the lanes are in great shape. I've had one bad experience with a family and their kids goofing off in a lane beside me. Once we told the staff, they came and told them to settle down or they would have to leave. I appreciated that! The food is okay. They do have a pro shop and they are pretty experienced. If you are looking for a place with a lot of different activities, LTA has that! It is a fun environment, so give it a try! read more

By far the worst bowling alley I've ever been too. I was in a group of 3 and it took over 3 hours of straight bowling due to the hour of wait after our balls would get stuck in the return. We made over 15 complaints and each time sat and waited extensive amount of time for it to be cleared. After clearing the shelves with extra balls we were given a free round of bowling, which was the only plus to the place. The facilities were nice with bowling, bumper cars, laser tag, and an arcade. The balls were extremely greasy as well. When we first arrived the fire alarms went off for about 15 mins with no sort of response what so ever. Will not return. read more

This place closes at ten. What kind of bowling ally closes at ten? People bowl at night not during the day. They also quoted us 22$ for an hour or 5$ per game. We left there and went to strike and spare on broad St and they were opened till 2am. They had cosmic bowling and music and they charged us 5$ all you Can bowl all night. read more

Decent experience for the money you pay. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was $26 for two games plus shoes for two people. They don't run any specials at all I don't think. They offer a lot to do: pool tables, bowling, games, laser tag and a bar as well but most everything is leaning towards the expensive side. We visited Lanes Trains and Automobiles for our sons birthday. The place was well lit and had plenty of games, laser tag, pool tables, and bowling along with a snack bar that had plenty of choices for food. The pricing was fair for the food and games. Everything was clean and well cared for and we got great service from the staff. There was plenty of parking. It is a pretty big place and was a great surprise to see how much there was to do. We had a wonderful time. The only drawback was the rap music that was playing, we don't listen to rap and would have hoped they had music anyone could agree on instead of music that had words bleeped out. The bathrooms were clean and maintained. We will be going back and hopefully the music will be more neutral because that is the only reason it is not a 5 star place to me. You can play any music you like but when some people don't like it the experience is not the same for them and it would have been better for me if it were different music. read more

Sounded more like someone doesn't like someone or a competitor wrote it. The fries were crispy and delicious. Refills for soda were a buck, I may have been persuaded to stay longer if refills were free. The prices for bowling is fair. The scoring machines are user friendly.
