Please get new employees. Tried to go in today for the kids bowl free program but the people that were working were too old to understand how technology works. They said I needed the phone that had the app on it for the kid coupons to be redeemed. That is clearly not correct. Just like the target app all that was needed was for them to give me the 4 digit code so I could give it to my wife over the phone and then she inputs it and then sends me the screen shot of the confirmation...that's literally all that was needed. This place is not where you you want to be on the weekend. There're so packed that you have to wait over hours and a half for the lanes or get a beer or snack. They should be more prepared to accommodate people and services especially on the weekends. Don't waste your time to come here on Friday or Saturday You will be disappointed. read more

Not the closest lanes, but definitely the friendliest and most helpful staff along with the most reliable alley mechanicals. We experience 1 jams or malfunctions in the months we have been bowling here. Weekday specials (yes they all have them) but the Monday $1.50 games and $1.50 shoe rentals are one of the best specials I've found. Keith, one of the resident pros (yes, he was on the PBA tour) has helped both of us improve our games and I still haven't figured out what days are his days off because he seems to be there every day! Pretty good experience, pretty fun. Wasn't too expensive and wasn't crowded after the bowling league was. Only downside is that they don't have any balls under 10lbs so a little harder for kids and whatnot to play. read more

I came back and had a much better time with some friends. They serve pretty good chicken wings and we drank a pitcher while I out bowled the competition on a bum ankle. Pizza wasn't very good. The atmosphere is of an older bowling alley but pretty well kept up. Lanes are still in good condition. It's the only place like this nearby that's open 24hrs. Lanes still in good condition. Such a good time! 3 of us came on a Friday night and had a really fun time. We bowled 2 games for $33. It was busy, but not so crazy we couldn't get a lane. We wanted to play pool after bowling, but all 3 tables were filled. I've been here a few times, and that's typically the case with the pool tables. Instead, we played air hockey, and a couple other little arcade games they had. The price of the games aren't too bad, just bring cash to play. The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars was the staff. I saw people there who appeared like they worked there, but everytime I went to the front desk, or attempted to cash in tickets from the arcade games, there was a long wait because the staff members were missing. When they'd finally come back to the desk, there was never an acknowledgment of our wait. Really odd? Luckily I didn't need much while there, but the staff should be a lot more present/ available. read more

Not my first time here but it was my first time here not coming for a kids party. Although we were here to celebrate a birthday it wasn't a party this time. We went for a Sunday afternoon, around 2:30pm. It wasn't too busy though still very active. We had a group of 5 adults and 3 kids. We are not skilled at all in bowling but had a great time. We bowled for 2 games with kids on the own lane. The cost was not bad for $53. Perhaps, it was posted somewhere but I didn't notice if the breakdown of pricing for games, shoes, etc. I did see a per hour cost but even that wasn't clear. It's not bad enough to keep us from coming again for some family fun. I will advise that 1. Never come during a tournament unless you are part of it. Last time we came for the actual birthday party, there was a tournament. There is no parking and getting in the door is scary with small kids. 2. Don't count on the "free game with check-in" as we were told that they "canceled" Yelp and all the specials awhile back. Overall, it was clean, easy to access, and enjoyable. Definitely one of the old-school bowling alleys, but in great shape. Outside of the shoes being extremely stretched, everything else was just fine. The worst service I have ever seen! Young kids running the place with no manager available. They ignored us when we walked in and left us standing there for about 10 minutes. Finally put us on a lane where someone was sitying. We asked to be put on another empty lane and they told us they were all taken. We asked for a refund and said we would leave and they refused to refund our money. Had to get the police involved to get our money back ( then they could magically refund our money). They told us we were not allowed back in there. We wouldn't go back anyway! Horrible, rude service. Young kids that need better training and a manager on duty at all times. Policies need to be changed to take better care of customers! I would not ever go there again! read more

Looking for family fun, this is the place!! My husband and our daughter (3yrs) had a great time mostly for the bowling and shoes for $2 or something so reasonable. We had played 2 games and they had light balls for the smaller kids and also the ramps. It was out first time going and will definitely be back. When we went service was definitely lacking on amount of staff but they were very attentive and helpful when needed. Definitely going again to enjoy family fun together. Smyrna Bowling (SMB) is NOT an "old school" bowling center as another reviewer might describe - it is the largest bowling center in Tennessee and in my opinion the cleanest. The staff is always wiping down areas that have been just vacated by previous bowlers. One of the main reasons for its success is Chris James, the bowling center manager. Chris is an amiable, people person who frequently can been seen walking around the center talking with bowlers. As Chris says, "He is in the bowling, as a sport, business." And Chris likes to please customers. If you are a league bowler SMB offers many competitive leagues (Youth, Adult, and Senior), as well as reasonably priced, competitive, handicap tournaments where anybody can have fun competing. SMB also hosts collegiate, Tennessee State USBC, and Professional Women's Bowling Association tournaments. In my view, Smyrna ranks as the best center in the state and one of the best in the county. we usually love coming here after work as a group, but our last visit left a lot of room for growth. we came to celebrate a birthday. we got there around 10:30 on a wednesday night and stayed probably a total of 4-5 hours. at first the staff was super sweet and welcoming, but later that changed. i ordered food and tipped at the counter, but the lady who took my order apparently never passed my ticket to the cook. i'm used to the food taking quite a while to be prepared but after an hour when i still hasn't received my order, i went to check and found ONLY the cook left in the kitchen area. she was super sweet and got my order out as fast as she could, so shoutout to AB for being literally fantastic. at one point the lane malfunctioned in the middle of the game and the sweep came down while someone was already bowling, so the ball hit the sweep. i was walking back to the lane from the restroom at the time and overheard one of the staff members saying he "knew exactly which group it was because they always do this kind of thing when they're here and cause problems" (keep in mind i hadn't been here in several months and have NEVER had an issue with the staff prior to this occasion so idk what he was talking about). when he arrived to fix the lane, he became really aggressive saying he would kick us out with no refunds because we did it on purpose etc etc. how could we have done it on purpose when the lane malfunctioned? no one intentionally would have thrown a 15 pound bowling ball at the sweep when they were trying to win a game lol. he told us he could go "speak to his associate" to see if we were getting kicked out or not (FOR AN ACCIDENT CAUSED BY A MALFUNCTION ON THEIR PART). his "associate" came over and was super chill, letting us know he understood accidents happen but don't let it happen again, he understood it wasn't our fault. we moved on and kept having fun, but later in the evening, the group bowling next to our group had the same issue and got the ball stuck/hit the sweep as well, and the same staff member who came at us and threatened to kick us out helped them calmly and politely without being disrespectful or trying to force them to leave. i'm not sure what their issue was with our group because we minded our own business and didn't cause any problems. we ordered food and drinks and we tipped accordingly. we just felt very singled out by that specific staff member and it wasn't appreciated. i've gone here several times over the last five years, but now i'm not sure i'll be going back if i can expect to be spoken to in such a disrespectful manner. read more

They keep the lanes moving and you don't feel like you're too cramped. We came in as a family of 5 and was placed into a crowded area with nowhere to sit. We requested for a different lane but was denied and told us that they had to mop the open space. I didn't see a cleaning crew anywhere and there was actually people playing off by themselves with plenty of space. Staff made up excuses and tried to force us into the crowded group. Love to bowl. Took my daughter for a father daughter outing recently to Smyrna Bowling Center. Unfortunately it was a great lesson for my child of exactly how to lose customers. The ladies at the front desk could not be bothered to help anyone. After waiting in line and paying for a game I was given shoes and no option of a lighter ball for my daughter. I waited in line a second time to get a bowling ball that was 7 pounds. After waiting in line twice we were ready to bowl. I had to wait in line a third time to ask them to activate the bumpers for my daughter. We were then moved after I had to go to the counter again because the bumpers didn't work. What do you know the second lane they put us on the bumpers didn't work either. So I go to the counter a 5th time. They moved us to a third lane, this time they just didn't turn the bumpers on. At this point I've had to go the counter 6 times while they're rude to me to bowl one game with my daughter. I asked for a manager and was told there wasn't one there. We never got an apology, after our one game bowled on our way out the door I was told "we have you a free game". Too little too late. We won't be going back. read more

It's annoying that the college discount only applies to MTSU students. Their pro shop is amazing. The lanes are basically perfect. The food was good. They also have a decent sized arcade. They also have about 50 lanes so there is never a wait on a lane. This place is a must go if you are in the area of Smyrna. read more

I took my grandchildren (7, 5, and 3) to Smyrna Bowling Center today and had a wonderful time. The facility is clean and easy to navigate, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We did the Lunch and Bowl special which is a great deal - spend $5/person on lunch and get a game and shoes for free. A special shout out to Susan, who cheerfully helped us set up our names on the lane, brought us a ramp, and even lugged three "lightweight" bowling balls so each kiddo could have their own ball! Went on a Sunday night and bowl 3 hours for $10 (included shoes). Pretty good deal! Looks like a new facility, clean atmosphere, and friendly staff. I've been here twice with friends from Nashville, and it is a hit with the guys because they drive 25 minutes out there just to bowl! You will have to ask for lighter balls (6 and 8 pound ones) bc they are kept behind the register, and they're mainly for the younger kids. The place has a concession stand with a fairly large menu and arcade. Restrooms are clean and that is always a plus! read more
