Early Monday I called 84 Auto Shop and explained the situation. They said they could help me but the part was in Texarkana and it would take some time to the part. In the meantime we had the SUV towed to their place. Within 10-15 minutes the new alternator showed up. They had pulled the SUV in the bay and were taking the old alternator out. We had been experiencing a recurring issue with the spark plugs in our old 2003 Mazda, and this was the third mechanic we'd been to with the problem. The nice gentlemen at Wilsons realized that an earlier mechanic had somehow left out a washer when putting in the spark plugs, solving our problem quickly, easily, and cheaply. The whole thing took 2 hours, and they recommended we grab a few extra plugs at AutoZone in case we needed to change the plugs again on the way home.
