I was surprised that the place was super empty on a Saturday. I was expecting more people. It was definitely awesome for us to do spring clean up together. The bottle depot is located at a convenient location for us. Well... walking distance. Yes we walked over there with our bottles and cans. It's a bottle depot and I have been to so many..... so the expectation is no different than the other bottle depots that I have been to. I liked that this one is own by Encorp. So they don't charge recycle fee and would get paid the full amount for the cans and bottles that we paid for when we bought the drinks. Recycling = good for the environment (happy face).

You forego the usual blue trays and lay out your returns directly on the table in their respective designated spots. From there they load your returns onto mini conveyor belts, which empty out into specific bins. The staff are friendly and helpful. The place is kept relatively clean.

Well after some terrible disrespectful disgusting encounters with the horrific staff at BIGGAR I will return to this location. This place is safer, more secure, cleaner and all around a much more pleasant experience. This staff here is amazing and POLITE unlike the RUDE and literally CRAZY staff member who calls herself the " manager " at BIGGAR . If you have a car this place is worth the drive! Turned to google and found out Return-It depots are opened to accept items for recycling. This outlet is near metrotown on imperial. Parking is at the rear. The place is spacious with tables spread out. There is a sink with soap dispenser available to wash your hands. Trays are there for you to put your recyclable bottles/cans for easy counting and carrying to the counter. It is very efficient. As recycling is more of my purpose rather than the refund of the deposit, I did not really pay attention to the actual amount I should get. Plus it all happened so quickly. This place also accepts clothes (or textiles), paint, lightbulbs, batteries, small household appliances and electronics for recycling. This will be my go to place to recycle those textiles and other items in future. Plus I really like it that this place is clean.

The Collingwood Kingsway Bottle Exchange is rather small compared to the other locations. Most of…read morethe time it's pretty busy so you may have to wait your turn to count all your bottles and cans. There's an express option if you don't want to wait around. 1) Sign up for an account on their website. 2) Enter your phone number into the kiosk and print labels. 3) Stick 1 label on each bag of recycling (bags must be clear). 4) The containers will be counted for you, and the money will be direct deposited into your account. You can even export an excel that shows the quantities of each container that was counted. The only catch is that there is no guarantee that they will accurately count your bags. The first time I went to the Collingwood location, only 5 out of the 6 total bags were counted. I went again this weekend and tried my luck at the 2639 Kingsway location, and only 5 out of the 7 bags were counted. If contactless drop off is more of a priority to you then this would be a great option. But if you actually care about getting the accurate $ amount, the best way is to just count it all yourself.

Staff are friendly and helpful. They pointed me to the correct area with a smile. Seems like they actually like working here. The facility is very modern and surprisingly clean, compared to the Vancouver Transfer Station. As mentioned in the name, they also accept piles of other stuff such as yard clippings, glass, wood, and metal. Pretty much a one stop shop, so people actually have a way to get rid of stuff instead of using random fields, gutters, and bushes like in Vancouver.
