Grabbed a roll of quarters to exchange for the cash and ran into this spot. They were empty except for the three women working behind various desks. They said that they wouldn't help me because I didn't have an account with them. Ok, I guess... Then, they proceeded to passive-aggressively point out the signs by the front. I said it seemed like a rule that a manager could override, and that is pay for them to make change. They again referred to the sign. After I explained that I'm a disabled vet, and my neurological issues make it difficult to read long signs quickly as one would while passing by, they essentially explained that it was my own issue and that they don't help people without an account. Ok... But, did they need to clown me for being disabled?... That part was a little excessive. But, admittedly, it wasn't completely unfunny afterward when I thought about how they were talking to me slow and loud as if I was either dumb, or didn't completely understand the language. It would have only been better if they tried to use their hands to draw out what they were saying. Hahaha. Anyway, walked into the Bank of America across the street and they helped with no questions. Out of appreciation, have since given Bank of America a few of my accounts for tenant's security deposits. It's always my intention to support the little guys and any sort of independent businesses. But, don't really care much what happens to Loomis Federal Savings and Loan.

So I received an "unknown call " today from Garrett Insurance Agency as a result of my review. The…read morewoman working there stated that she was hoping that my voicemail would pick up as she did not want to talk to me. There was what should have been awkward silence for her, for a moment. Anyhow, she questioned my review and told me that she contacted Yelp to report my review. My guess is because she now claims that after having my credit card on file, as they have charged it in the past, she is saying that it's not on file. Apparently, although she told me that she was going charge me, per this conversation she now claims to not have my credit card information on file. I'm baffled as to how she would have made that transaction, albeit without my go ahead. But whatever. She followed up with the most sarcastic canned response saying "Well thank you so much for your business and HAVE A NICE DAY!" The take away from all of this is that they have virtually nonexistent customer service. They harass you when you make a valid review via "unknown caller ". The irony is that she reached out so much quicker to respond to my review then she EVER has for insurance related concerns. Garrett, Some advice.... Be this proactive with existing customers as you are with disputing with them over their reviews. Good luck! Update- She mentions getting back to customers the next day which was never the case but at least she apologized.

This has been the worst tax experience I've ever had by far!!! I found Kozlowski & Associates after…read moremoving to Highland, IN from Chicago and asking for recommendations on tax professionals through the Highland Community Facebook page. Right off the bat, I feel as though they tried to bait and switch me for my business. When I stopped in to discuss becoming a new client, I made it very clear that I was looking to get my current taxes done (2021) and amend my 2020 taxes(2020 was the first year I lived in IN while still working in IL). (Attached the post-it that was written by their front desk woman, with the note of what was suppose to be completed.) Instead of being honest and saying they would only complete the 2021 taxes and that I would have to then myself be responsible for following up with them after April to complete my amended taxes; they took all my documents for both years. They called to tell me my taxes were ready about a week later. When I showed up to pay for my completed taxes; that's when they told me that the amended taxes wouldn't be done until after the current tax years deadline. Again, they failed to explain that the responsibility would be on me to contact them after April and bring all my document back in. It wasn't until I received a letter from the IRS about my 2020 taxes, that I gave them a call and was told they had nothing on file for me and 2020 taxes. Furious, because at this point, in this day and age why do I have to come down to an office more than 10x. So I bring myself and all my documents back down to their offices. Got a call saying they were completed, go to pick them up. They talk you through what you owe, if you owe anything at the counter then immediately take your payment for their services. Fast forward to 2 months later and I'm getting another letter from the IRS about money owed for my amended taxes (2020). I call them(K&A) and have to make another trip to drop off what I received. I do so, they call to tell me to just drop off my 1040-k, so I make another trip. I then get a voicemail from Bill saying I need to bring in copies of the check I used to pay what was owed. I don't understand why they don't have copies of what they filed. IT'S 2022, GET WITH THE TIMES. Also their carbon footprint has to be horrible, because while they clearly don't keep e-files, they hand you a bible of your printed tax forms once they've been completed. So I have two bibles from them that literally went straight into a safe once I got home. I went through all the documents that I was given from K&A, in total I was instructed to make 5 individual payments to the IRS, IL & IN. In reality; there should have been 6 payments. They failed to explain a Federal payment needed to be made on my amended taxes, then failed horribly to take responsibility for their mistake. All a very frazzled Bill could tell me was that my 1040-k showed that I owed the 6th payment. Bill, if you're reading this, if I knew how to read and understand a 1040-k, I WOULD HAVE COMPLETED MY TAXES ON MY OWN. Why of all the payments I made, under your instruction, would I miss one? At the end of the day, if you like vintage this place is just for you. They clearly have a very old school nostalgic way to do business. Including not taking responsibility for mistakes made on their part. Now I'm left to take both my 2021 and 2020 taxes elsewhere so the work done by K&A can be reviewed.

I've recommended my friends and family. One of the nice young men working there even brought me a water while I was waiting! Not too many places do THAT anymore! Personally, I hate doing taxes and I really don't understand what I'm doing when it comes down to it but I was able to have an appointment with Bill since I was a new client. Bill was very thorough and was able to address all of my concerns, leaving me feeling confident. We were even able to add a few expenses and credits to get MORE money back than my last tax preparer did. Praise the Lord! I also overheard a conversation at the checkout with another client saying they have been having their taxes and insurance done here for over 20 years, and she called Bill "Mr. Wonderful". To me it seems their reputation speaks for themselves. They make doing and understanding taxes a lot easier than trying to do them on their own and they're cheaper than the other firms in the area. They are professionals in their field of business and I will be shopping around for home and auto insurance with them now. Thank you K&A!!!
