Absolutely awful experience. How a service that runs the same routes everyday can go from really good to really terrible in a blink of an eye astonishes me. Before the June 30th reset, the busses were fine. Good routes always relatively on time and good drivers. Now it's complete crap. The new routes are bad, the drivers are reshuffled, they can't drive constantly hitting curbs and they are always now late. On top of all this when a bus has a habit and pattern of leaving every hour on the hour and now, with no notice, no warning whatsoever the bus won't be leaving until 1pm! That is unacceptable Lanta. Lanta Van and Lanta flex service are the worst of any ride service for disabled people. I am continually stranded for well over 2 hours. My food for most of the month is ruined. There's an entire subculture of people who do nothing but ride the bus all day. This provides plenty of entertainment for those of us who simply want to go from one place to another. The reason for this is that the people who belong to this subculture are not wrapped too tight. They act weird and engage in all sorts of inappropriate behavior. If I could give their appointment transit service LantaVan 0 stars, I would. I provide lifesharing services for people with special needs, and the service this company provides is deplorable. You will make an appointment for pick up and they have been up to an hour and a HALF late. One morning the driver came to the house, my client (who has special needs and is disabled) was walking down the ramp and the driver SPED off! My client didn't even have the driver waiting for 5 minutes, and this same driver has been over and hour and a half late, so I was appalled that she would just drive off when she saw him walking down the ramp towards her. I called customer service and asked to speak to the manager, and a male dispatcher named Terry hung up the phone on me when I asked to speak with his supervisor, stating there was nothing to be done. I then called again and was transferred to a manager, who never called me back. All of the drivers, dispatch, and management in this place are absolutely horrendous. There should be a set van for those who ride the bus daily and another van for those who aren't. This van also has people with disabilities and special needs on this van for over 3.5 hours! My client was dismissed from his day program at 3 pm, and once didn't come in the house until 7:15. That is absolutely despicable, and I am doing everything I can to contact our local government officials about this clear violation of their rights based on their ability. There should be no reason that those with special needs and disabilities should be receiving this type of subpar service. read more

I think there is much room for improvement with this service. I am about to be without a car and not looking forward to having to deal with this. Once my ride was given away to someone not even at my residence, once I was stranded for a long time with no place to sit even though I called and was promised a bus was on the way, once I had groceries including ice cream and had to wait long past the pick up time, a few times my shared ride was so long I considered begging the driver to stop so I could use a rest room, once the driver refused to drop me at Jack Williams at the south mall saying he could only drop me at one point there even though it was far from where I needed to be and even though I had given the exact address as Lanta requires. The Lanta Transportation service is an honest joke. That said the majority is pretty decent. However some drivers are extremely rude and others like to skip certain stops on select days. Or even both at times. Not only is it inconvienent but it is too cold to be waiting for a bus that isnt gonna show. While I will continue using the service as I have no choice, I would love for there to be a change. read more

Their paratransit service (LantaVan, which is operated by Easton Coach) is the worst in the world! We have been pushed over one too many times! They tell you to be ready at least 15 minutes before and after your pick up time, which we always are but they aren't! One example of many for us was back in July. My husband's appt was for 3:50pm today and his pick up time was 2:40pm with a drop off time of 3:30pm in Walnutport. The driver showed up around 3:05pm and told my husband he wouldn't get him to walnutport until 4:30 because he has to pick someone up in New Tripoli first. I asked the driver why he couldn't drop him off in Walnutport first and then do his other pick up in New Tripoli. Especially since Walnutport is literally 12 minutes from my house and can be taken that way to get to New Tripoli! He said because he is already running late for that pick up. So i don't understand why another pick up is more important than at least getting one of your riders to their destination on time? Instead, now you have TWO that are going to be late! The driver left my house and I immediately called their dispatch. Spoke to an Eric, explained what happened and he said he needed to get off the phone so he could contact the driver to see what he could do. I waited 10 min and no call. Called dispatch again, asked for Eric and the guy who answered asked why. I explained my situation AGAIN! He put me on hold, came back on and said he was transferring me to Eric. Guess what! I got a voice message! I called back and had to explain my problem AGAIN! This guy, I believe his name was Dan, basically told me there was nothing they could do because once a driver leaves your house there is no calling them back to the house. The driver was literally a block down the road!!!! I asked to speak to a Supervisor. Guess what! Got a voice message! This is the 2nd time LantaVan (operated by Easton Coach) has done this to us! Many times in the past, they ran SOOOO late picking him back up, that i had to leave work to go get him. I don't understand how anyone can make appointments when using LantaVan to get there?!?!!! They are not reliable. UPDATE, since my last posting, we had to cancel yet another doctor's appointment because of their service. Again, they were running late! They loaded my husband onto the van, took his ticket, and as the driver proceeded to leave he decided at this point to tell my husband he was going to be late. He immediately told the driver to turn around and take him back home. The driver did so, but refused to give him his ticket back. He claimed that once a ticket is taken it cannot be given back. I placed a complaint on Lanta's site and received a response in the mail with a returned ticket. At least we got it back, but a month later! What bull pucky!!!! We always try to schedule with extra time, but I will only schedule 1 hour in advance for his appointment because of his illness. These people that ride the van cannot just sit around and wait for their appointments. Some have special needs that do not allow for them to just hang around. I believe 1 hour prior to an appointment time should be VERY sufficient, but yet doesn't always work that way with this paratransit company! Now that their prices were increased, I hope they get better schedulers and provide better phone etiquette to their customers. Their scheduling department REALLY needs an overhaul! read more

Yeah, while I truly sympathize with all the late pickups etc., what happened to me was truly frightening. I was recently out of the hospital, medicated, weak, kidney failure so my legs were badly swollen, it was winter, cold, very dark, pickup scheduled for 3 pm--and they never picked me up at all from the eventually-empty doctor's office. I called about 3:45, they said it would be another 15 minutes. Nothing. My next message at 4:15 said office was now closed...I called a cab, ps, no English speakers in all of Allentown, no cab...finally a total stranger from the janitorial staff arriving at the building about 5 called me an Uber. read more
