Asking nearly double the market value (worth $9-10k, asking $16k). It's worth even less than that because of the stupid mods that have to be removed. When I called to inquire about the apparent pricing mistake because I am interested as a cash buyer, he was very rude, very unprofessional, talked to me like I don't even know, just very unprofessional. I asked and he started arguing about what he buys it for at auction. But it's literally double the market value. The way he talked to me very much irked me, I said I don't want to talk to you, you're unprofessional, and he said "good!" Wow. That's some seriously atrocious customer service. He appears to be the owner. Fact is if I wanted to pay $16k which is in my budget, I could get one with half the miles and twice as new, because the car being sold is 13 years old (2009) with 177k miles. He's asking $6k over market price. I see that others complained similarly, this seems like simply a ripoff artist profiting by exploiting people who don't do their research. I'm pretty sure this place is a joke. Inquired about price for a 10 year old suv. This truck was beat up. Inside accessories were falling apart. But I just needed a tow vehicle, so not a huge deal to me. But they priced it at 9000 over book value for a similar model in good shape and with lower miles. I get they need room to negotiate and still make a profit, but really? That wasn't even a reasonable jumping off point. I walked right back to my car. Updated to add: I got a response from the Owner, who apparently likes to use nice words to make it seem like I'm an idiot. Which shouldn't surprise me- it's par for the course here. But as the daughter of mechanic and an auto insurance claims adjuster- I am quite aware of the the multitude of sources to check the value of a car. And "as a consumer" have extensively researched value and they specific type of vehicle I was looking to purchase. And this place is still a joke. So, my car was totaled in an accident 3 weeks prior to my husband and I going to Lantern. We went in to look. Since I knew I was already in a tough spot, still owing on the totaled car, we figured we were in a buy here pay here situation. Long story short we found out we could get financed for a reasonable payment. First warning should have been that these guys wouldn't allow a test drive without credit approval. We drove a Volkswagen CC, liked it, and proceeded. We literally dealt with EVERY person in the building. Took it home Monday night after closing. Tuesday morning I took it to work and my husband called to say oil was in the garage. Called Lantern, Tony said get it to their mechanics right away. We did. Picked it up more oil. Dropped off Thursday morning. No one touched it until the following Monday. Our problem is not that the car leaked oil. Our problem is that not a single person from the dealer kept in contact. When we went to drop off at mechanic, he even had no clue that we were coming. He said "Tony is good for that." After a week my husband went back, collected our things and got out deposit back. Thank god. We ended Up finding a much nicer, much newer car, and had a good feeling. read more

I beg you NOT to go here! I bought a 2004 Mini Cooper that had really low miles. I test drove it and it seemed to be fine. My husband came and also test drove it and didn't see any issues. An hour after buying it parts started to fly off the car, and within a week the clutch blew. What happened was they band-aided or quick fixed things that were wrong with it for it to seem fine for a few miles. They screwed me so bad. And when I called to try and rectify the issues they basically told me that it wasn't there problem anymore. They are rude, discourteous and will do anything to sell you a piece of junk. Had a Great experience. This is by far the best Buy here Pay here lot around. I purchased my 2008 Ford Mustang from here and had great customer service. I had been shopping for a while and went to a dozen car lots. And if they were not trying to put me in a vehicle that was out of my budget they trying to sell me something I did want. I walked up on the lot and was greeted by Edgar and Leo JR told him what I was looking for and gave him my budget that I wanted to stay in. Edgar and Leo were very nice. Bought a used vehicle from them and tucked it in the garage day after and headed back to NY. Came back 3 weeks layer and drove vehicle to SArasota and had two people pull up to me on Rt 41 and tell me my tire looked like it was going to fall off. It was just my daughter and me so was terrified to drive it. We made it back to Ft Myers and took it to tire store and put it up on lift telling me it had a bad rim. So went back to Lantern to tell edgar our Salesmen about it and he insinuated that I must have done something and truck was tested before purchase. All he did was give me name where they get rim parts. Didn't even get out of his chair to take a look. I said a used vehicle should at least come with working safe tires. It started pouring and the window is leaking as well. So disappointed in the after sales customer service I received. I will let all my family and friends know about never going to this place for a vehicle they seen my interest in a car that in my eyes was the perfect car my husband said no from the jump start they showed us two cars the one I liked and a different one that was okay but they kept pushing the car on us cause they Knew I liked the vehicle my husband finally gave in we left after signing the papers right as we got on the road check engine light came on we turned around their mechanic said it's nothing to worry about so we left a week later a loud noise started so we called a mechanic close to Are house the problems with this car is un real they said it would be 5500$ to fix the car we have kids bills we already just put down 3500$ for the car so we called the office they had the car for over a week and said they fixed it well let's just say me and my kids had to walk to school for graduation cause it's in safe we went to drive to their location and I'm stranded at the store with my kids and the owner could care two cents less them what's going on he won't help us get into a new vehicle we even offered to put down another 1000$ just to get in a car and he won't help us this place is bad business straight lemon cars I'm so upset I've been crying all night my birthday has been ruined because of this my kids don't understand what's going on I will never forget or forgive these people I'm highly upset and feel like I have been robbed so no car to get to work which means no money to pay bills to keep a ruff over my kids head! Went with my sister and brother in law a couple weeks ago to help them purchase their first vehicle and the guy Andrew there played it off as a great sales man willing to do whatever it is to make them happy and get them in a truck. Well they put 4grand cash down over 20% of what the truck was even being sold for and buy a beautiful 04 Chevy diesel 4x4 and not even 2 days later the truck has a misfire come to find out 3 fuel injectors are bad and what does lantern motors tell them when they take it in? If anything is broke well repair it, so they inspect the vehicle and say that everything is fine. When they go to two different mechanic shops they said if they continued to drive the vehicle they'd blow it up. So now they're stuck forking out the cash and time to fix their own truck that they just dropped 4grand on you'd think you'd get a running working vehicle. This place is a joke and want to rip people off. As a manager of a restaurant for a large restaurant chain I'm disgusted at the poor customer service they received. You're better off buying a used car off craigslist then from these scumbags. The war isn't over yet boys. read more
